"Game Changer for modern Identity and Systems Management"
What do you like best about JumpCloud?

The company itself makes this product amazing. Customer service is top notch. The product offers so much more than first appears when looking at their website. Not only do you gain the ability to manage user directories, but SSO access to dozens of common platforms, systems management through policies tailored for all three major platforms (Win, Linux, Mac). Full API management capabilities through shell or Power Shell libraries make it almost infinitely customizable to your needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

Being a company with continuous deployment of new features and updates, there are times when features come out that get in the way. The ability to search machine attributes is fantastic but the popup menu that appears every time you type in the system search bar is obnoxious. The other area that could use some UX work is the ability to work from a mobile screen. Their management console is not adaptive and makes it basically impossible to make changes from a phone. "JumpCloud: Identity-First Control and Unified Device Management Made Simple"
What do you like best about JumpCloud?

What I like most about JumpCloud is that it gives strong control to IT teams without making things complicated. It feels designed for modern environments where users, devices, and access need to be managed from one place.

The identity-first approach is a big advantage. Instead of relying on networks or VPNs, JumpCloud focuses on users as the main security layer, which works very well for remote and hybrid teams.

Another thing I really appreciate is the ability to manage macOS, Windows, and Linux devices from a single console. Having one platform for all operating systems makes daily administration much easier.

JumpCloud also brings directory services, device management, access control, SSO, and MFA together in one system. This reduces the need for multiple tools and avoids integration issues.

Automation is another strong point. Running scripts, enforcing policies, and executing commands across devices saves a lot of manual effort and helps maintain consistency and compliance.

Being cloud-native is a major benefit. There is no need to maintain on-prem servers or domain controllers, which makes it ideal for cloud-first and distributed teams.

Overall, JumpCloud scales well as organizations grow and provides a clean, practical admin experience. It helps IT teams stay secure, organized, and efficient without the complexity of traditional directory systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

I dislike about JumpCloud is that some advanced features can feel complex at first, especially for administrators who are new to identity-based management. There is a learning curve when setting up policies, permissions, and integrations correctly.

Troubleshooting can also be challenging at times. When something does not work as expected, the logs and error messages are not always very clear, which can make root cause analysis take longer.

Another drawback is limited depth in certain areas compared to specialized tools. For example, while JumpCloud handles device management well, it may not be as deep or mature as dedicated MDM solutions for very advanced use cases.

Some configurations still require scripting, which is powerful but can be time-consuming if you are managing many edge cases. Better built-in templates and clearer guidance would help reduce this effort. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Centralized Identity & Device Management That Simplifies Onboarding and Boosts Security"
What do you like best about JumpCloud?

What I like most about JumpCloud is having a single, centralized platform for user identity, device management, and access control. It simplifies onboarding and offboarding, improves security through consistent policies and MFA, and reduces the need to manage multiple tools. The cross-platform support (Mac, Windows, Linux) and cloud-based directory are especially helpful for a modern, distributed team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

Some areas of JumpCloud can feel complex or unintuitive, particularly when configuring advanced policies or troubleshooting issues. Certain workflows require more steps than expected, and documentation or in-product guidance could be clearer in places. Reporting and visibility can also be limited without extra customization, which can make audits or investigations more time-consuming. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless User and Device Management with Powerful Automation"
What do you like best about JumpCloud?

JumpCloud is easy to understand and navigate, with a clean and intuitive UI. I also really like how responsive and helpful the support team is—they respond quickly and provide clear, effective assistance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

**Software Management could be improved, especially for macOS. The app catalog currently requires using bash scripts for more advanced options, such as enabling automatic app relaunch after an update. It would be helpful to have this as a built-in option instead of relying on scripts.

Additionally, Directory Insights could be enhanced by improving software-related events. Currently, software updates (including driver updates) are detected as software add or remove events. Having a dedicated “software update/change” event would make tracking and auditing much clearer.** Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Cross-Platform Management"
What do you like best about JumpCloud?

JumpCloud makes it easy for a small team like ours to manage Windows, macOS, and Linux from one place. The agent is lightweight and reliable, and even when a device can’t use full MDM, we still get good inventory and can enforce basics like encryption, firewall, and screen lock. Patching is straightforward too, we push updates to a small “vanguard” group first, then roll out broadly. Overall, it does a lot and keeps our fleet in a healthy, compliant state without a ton of overhead. Big shoutout to their support, fast, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. And the AI chat in the console, which speeds up troubleshooting and “how do I…?” tasks more than I expected. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

JumpCloud’s conditional policies only applies to JumpCloud-managed accounts, which limits what we can do in mixed environments or where identities are primarily in Google Workspace. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Multi-OS Management with Powerful Remote Assist"
What do you like best about JumpCloud?

There are many reasons I appreciate this product, but the ability to manage different operating systems from a single platform is especially helpful. I also find the remote assist feature to be excellent. Additionally, the option to use Commands has proven to be extremely useful on several occasions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

At times, I find the help resources difficult to follow. I do understand, though, that maintaining them so they remain current and user-friendly is truly a Herculean task. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"The Lifesaver MDM"
What do you like best about JumpCloud?

As an IT admin using JumpCloud, I’ve found it incredibly efficient for managing users and devices across Windows, macOS, and Linux from one place. The built-in MFA, conditional access, and Zero Trust features greatly strengthen our security. Integrations with tools like Google Workspace and M365 make user access seamless, and onboarding/offboarding is quick and automated saving us a lot of manual work. It’s really streamlined our IT operations. Btw it was very easy to implement this in to our organisation and we use this application on a daily bases. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

While JumpCloud is powerful, it can have a steep learning curve for new admins. Some advanced features lack customization, and real-time device status updates can occasionally lag. The UI, though clean, could be more intuitive in certain areas. Also, support response times can vary depending on the issue's urgency. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless Cross-Platform MDM with Superb Security"
What do you like best about JumpCloud?

I really appreciate that JumpCloud is platform agnostic, working smoothly across Mac, Windows, and Linux as well as cloud resources. The centralized control and visibility make managing users and devices much simpler for IT teams. I love the built-in security approach, specifically MFA and ZTP, which isn't just bolted on. It scales well with organizational growth without adding unnecessary complexity. I personally like MFA and the security aspects of the devices. Additionally, JumpCloud offers many options that were not available with Jamf, and it's very cost-effective for our organization. The initial setup was quick, and I'd rate it a 9 out of 10, even if I was a bit slow in grasping it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"JumpCloud’s Single Pane of Glass Makes Identity & macOS Device Management Efficient"
What do you like best about JumpCloud?

What I like best about JumpCloud is the centralized identity and device management. Its single pane of glass approach for identity, device, and access management. Managing macOS devices, enforcing security policies like FileVault, and controlling user access across systems from one platform makes day to day IT operations much more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

JumpCloud is a solid platform overall, but it does come with a learning curve, and a few workflows could be more streamlined. Clearer UI cues, stronger reporting, and more thorough troubleshooting documentation would go a long way toward improving the day-to-day admin experience and making common tasks easier to manage. "One password helps me manage everything and helps me sleep slightly better I guess"
What do you like best about JumpCloud?

JumpCloud has worked well as it creates a single portal with all the applications; I do not have to remember forty different usernames/passwords. JumpCloud works across both the MacBook laptops and the tower PCs – both of which normally hate each other – that was a nice surprise. The majority of the time the JumpCloud Agent simply runs in the background and I never get complaints from the sales staff. It’s good enough that it hasn’t ruined my day yet. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

JumpCloud pricing tiers confuse me as much as anything else I’ve ever had to deal with as why do I need a doctorate in order to figure out what I’m being billed? Sometimes the push notifications for the 2-factor authentication (2FA) just hang there in space and I’m sitting here looking at my phone like a complete moron. It tends to happen when the wifi drops. Also the admin console kicks you out WAY TOO FAST. I take a 2 second break to yell at a printer and BINGO – I’m kicked out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Device Management, Needs Patch Management Refinement"
What do you like best about JumpCloud?

I like that JumpCloud has been improving their services very quickly over the past year or two that I've been using them. They've added a ton more features, such as shadow IT detection and outside jump call asset management. They've also improved their API significantly with the version two launch and system insight, which has helped us make a lot of automations. These improvements have reduced our workload and the workload of everyone else on the team. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about JumpCloud?

I've noticed some issues with patch management. We still have some devices that are on pretty old versions of software, and I don't understand how they're still there when JumpCloud should be enforcing patching. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
