What do you like best about IntelliJ IDEA?

I have so many favorite things about IntelliJ. Starting from the very beginning I enjoyed receiving the useful tips provided by the system when you first started. I also enjoy how useful the tips are when you do something wrong, or you could optimize your code better. It has super useful functions like pressing control (cmd on Mac) and clicking on an object or a resource and it takes you directly to that location. IntelliJ is truly a powerhouse and data central all in one. Being able to manipulate my database information, develop POJOs is truly amazing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about IntelliJ IDEA?

Sometimes the controls are overly complicated or there may not be a simple feature that was baked into something like NetBeans or Eclipse.

Additionally, sometimes setting up folder structure using the “Mark folder as… And “functionality seems to backfire or read write code I have written. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering IntelliJ IDEA:

Try out the community version first to see if you like its functionality. If you need to be able to utilize SQL functionality then try the trial version of IntelliJ ultimate Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is IntelliJ IDEA solving and how is that benefiting you?

IntelliJ allows me to easily apply war files using Apache tomcat and emulate our website environments. It allows for easy integration with virtual machines, databases, and other resources so that you can test in development before going to production. We use IntelliJ in concert with many 3rd party modules like git, Maven, Sonar Qube, and Sonar Nexus to name a few. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
