"Great vector editing / drawing program for free use"
What do you like best about Inkscape?

For a free program, this has really been useful. I primarily use it to edit existing vector files for use in producing laser-cutting files and turning SVG files into editable PDF files. Those features alone would make this a valuable program, but there are so many more features that I have yet to explore. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Inkscape?

The one feature that I do not like is when you select individual lines, the way it selects it is within a bounding box, and even if it is only a stroke with no fill, it indicates you can change the fill color. These make it a little harder to manipulate existing files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Essential for fast, high-quality vectorization"
What do you like best about Inkscape?

Inkscape is, hands down, the only truly free software capable of high-quality vectorization. The results are precise, clean, and reliable, even for complex shapes and detailed artwork. We are very happy with it and use it frequently in our daily workflow. It offers a powerful set of professional tools without any cost, which makes it incredibly valuable for both small businesses and advanced users Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Inkscape?

Some advanced features can feel less intuitive at first, and the interface may require a learning curve compared to paid alternatives Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Free To Use, Easy mode of Vector Creation."
What do you like best about Inkscape?

I like Inkscape for its simple and easy-to-understand UI and icons that clearly indicate the function of each tool, which made it easy for me to learn even as a beginner. I also appreciate the Bezier Tool because it provides the flexibility to make desired curves and change shape styles easily, which is essential for my vector animations. I love that I can freely upscale or downscale my vectors without worrying about pixelation or quality loss, thanks to the SVG format. Inkscape efficiently handles my tasks without the need for a pricey subscription, which is why I switched from Adobe Illustrator. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Inkscape?

I personally feel that Inkscape lacks some advanced level tools that Adobe Illustrator offers. I particularly don't know the names of them because I have used Illustrator very less, but few of my friends have told me that they don't switch to Inkscape because it lacks many tools. I particularly don't know the exact name but features like to turn any vector from 2D to 3D by giving depth, like it's done in Adobe Illustrator, and definitely, it's one of the most wanting features I need, and also another feature which could be added is to map things on top of other shapes. "Powerful Free Tool for Professional Vector Designs"
What do you like best about Inkscape?

I mostly use Inkscape for creating vector designs like logos, illustrations, and clean line art. I find it especially useful for designing graphics for printing and social media because everything stays sharp even when resized. It solves the problem of needing professional quality vector design without paying for expensive software. What I like most about Inkscape is that it is free but still very powerful. It gives me full control over vector design, and once you learn it, you can create almost anything. I like that it works well on low-end systems and has a strong community with lots of tutorials and extensions. The initial setup was very easy for me. Downloading and installing did not take much time, and it worked fine right after installation. I would rate it a solid 9 out of 10 because it is a powerful tool for vector design, and being free makes it even more valuable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Inkscape?

Some tools feel a bit slow or less polished compared to paid software. The interface can be confusing at first and takes time to get used to. It can lag when working on very complex files and text handling could be smoother. Better performance optimization and a more modern UI would really improve the experience. "Feature-Rich and Free, But Needs Some more Features."
What do you like best about Inkscape?

I like that Inkscape is totally free to use and has all the necessary features of Illustrator software. It provides scalability of vectors and logos without losing quality. It's easy to use, with all the necessary tools available and it supports the SVG format, which gives me the power to scale my logos and vectors to any size without losing quality. It's very easy and beginner-friendly, and I never experience lagging or crashing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Inkscape?

I find that Inkscape misses the Gradient Mesh feature, which is a must in illustration software. Also, Free Transform is not available. Inkscape should add these features and work on implementing something like perspective transform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use but not for printing"
What do you like best about Inkscape?

It’s easy to use, and the interface feels familiar if you’ve used other graphics programs. There’s also plenty of documentation online for when you’re not sure how to do something. I also like that you can create multiple pages within a single file. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Inkscape?

It isn’t suitable for preparing files for print. It only works in RGB and doesn’t support CMYK mode, and it also lacks Pantone palettes. It tends to crash unexpectedl and becomes slow when there are many linked images. It does not open all vector file formats. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Intuitive and Free, but Performance and Color Limitations hold it back"
What do you like best about Inkscape?

It's free, it allows you to create multiple pages within a document, there's plenty of documentation online, and it can be used on multiple platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Inkscape?

The software only supports RGB mode and lacks the Pantone palette, which can be limiting. When working with files that contain numerous linked images or a large number of graphic elements, it tends to become sluggish and heavy, and at times it even crashes. Some commands (such as those for polar series and masks) are also somewhat complicated and not very intuitive. Compatibility with other vector formats is limited. "A Great Free Tool for Beginners in Vector Design"
What do you like best about Inkscape?

I like that Inkscape is completely free and still gives me access to powerful tools for vector graphics. It’s great for creating logos, icons, and illustrations without needing expensive software. The interface has a lot of familiar tools, so even as a beginner, I can figure out how to use shapes, colors, and text to make designs. I also like that there are many tutorials online, which makes it easier to learn step by step. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Inkscape?

Sometimes it feels a little slow, especially when I work with larger files. The number of options in the menus can be overwhelming at first, and it takes time to understand where everything is. Also, compared to paid software like Adobe Illustrator, some features feel less polished or harder to find. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Effortless Image Cleanup and Tracing"
What do you like best about Inkscape?

I really like how easy it is to recreate a customer's vision and clean up images with Inkscape. The quick ability to trace for easy CAD/CAM manipulation simplifies our workflow significantly. It makes accepting custom images and drawings from customers and converting them into patterns for our CNC machines a much smoother process. Inkscape's user-friendliness and straightforward usability make it cost-effective for us, and the initial setup was completely straightforward, with not much of a learning curve.
