What I like most about Informatica Cloud Data Governance and Catalog is how it can automatically discover, catalog, and govern enterprise data across both cloud and on-prem environments, while also providing end-to-end data lineage and AI-driven metadata intelligence. It makes data governance easier by helping technical and business users clearly understand data flow, ownership, data quality, and impact analysis across platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Snowflake, and Databricks. Overall, this improves data trust, supports compliance, boosts operational efficiency, and strengthens decision-making. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One thing I dislike about Informatica Cloud Data Governance and Catalog is that the initial setup and governance framework design can be complex, particularly in large enterprises with many data sources and legacy systems. Even though the platform is powerful, configuring metadata ingestion, lineage, roles, policies, and stewardship workflows often takes careful planning and typically requires experienced administrators. In addition, certain advanced features and integrations can drive up licensing costs, and performance may slow down when the tool is managing very large metadata environments unless it is properly optimized.
