It supports most of the features we need and more. **What do you dislike about Infor VISUAL?** It feels clunky and left behind. No decent search bar, still requires 2 additional clicks and use of wildcard characters. The quality of some elements of the scheduling aren't great - I'm not super happy with the way the schedule needs re-running so often and that material dependencies and states aren't viewable from the scheduling window. **What problems is Infor VISUAL solving and how is that benefiting you?** Production scheduling - although there is a lot of time consuming manual tweaking required, which requires running the schedule multiple times to make it work. ### 4. I loved it, I knew intimately how it worked inside and out and it did the job. Infor Visual as it is now called provides deep manufacturing capability, strong scheduling, fantastic material planning. There are add-on's for cad-integration, bar-coding, quality, HR and more. It works with multiple manufacturing/financial companies and can be setup for all types of manufacturers (engineer to order, make to order, configure to order, even process manufacturers can use it). **What do you dislike about Infor VISUAL?** The community is small so finding a good partner with experience might be tough. The interface/setup isn't as intuitive as other more modern products and there were always problems with reconciling the financials because it was too darn flexible (ship before you make, collect money before invoicing, delete transactions, re-open months, etc.) **Recommendations to others considering Infor VISUAL:** Great product if you own a small to medium size business and don't care about financials, sales/marketing, reporting or remote access. This product does one thing REALLY well. It costs, tracks, schedules and reports on production. If you're reading this and need help or advice, just reach out to me on linked. **What problems is Infor VISUAL solving and how is that benefiting you?** Most ERP's on the market require you to spend a small fortune to get up and running, but not Visual. Probably for less than $50,000 you will have a manufacturing system that is equivalent in functionality to SAP or AX. So if you believe that you make money on the shop floor instead of accounting department and don't have a lot of money to spend I strongly recommend looking at this product. ### 6. The layouts and the repetition of UI throughout the interface. **What do you dislike about Infor VISUAL?** The reference materials are static and do not elaborate on the SQL structure behind the UI. **What problems is Infor VISUAL solving and how is that benefiting you?** We are implementing full costing of our custom configured products using Visual in conjunction with a full CPQ system. ### 7. It lets me see multiple items on a list for comparison. **What do you dislike about Infor VISUAL?** The menus or toolbars that I need to use are less than intuitive. Why don't they use standard Windows icons for "Close" and "Save" for example. And keyboard shortcuts are non-standard. Instead of CTRL-C for copy and CTRL-V for paste, I need to use CTRL-INSERT and SHIFT-INSERT. That forces me as a user to often do it wrong, then figure it out, then do it over. Sometimes I can use TAB and sometime it does nothing. **Recommendations to others considering Infor VISUAL:** I am glad for the User-Defined Fields. It seems like most of the data I need is in those fields. But I wonder why they are not standard fields. For example: Part Number and Engineering Change Level are UDF. I would recommend that a new company who is considering an ERP system have some experienced personnel from multiple fields review the software thoroughly before making a decision. **What problems is Infor VISUAL solving and how is that benefiting you?** My company uses Infor Visual Manufacturing for ERP. Like many large companies, our specialized users normally each only use a small portion of the software to do our various jobs. Hopefully someone is finding value in all this information, but at my level it is a bunch of data I am unsure of the benefit. ### 8. You cannot customize it at all. The system is very good at what it does but it lacks in a graphical user interface. This makes most younger employees have a longer uptake time for processing. **What do you dislike about Infor VISUAL?** I dislike the inability or seeming inability to customize the platform from anyone but a network admin. There are limited selection choices and most of the commands are text based with no hot keys or map for search parameters or shortcuts. it's up to the individual employees to figure out what these are and create there own documentation in an effort for training and practice. Because this is not a graphics based interface it is not intiuative and must be practiced over and over again. **Recommendations to others considering Infor VISUAL:** Learn how to operate in a none text based environment. This is not a graphics friendly program. I cannot stress how much a different graphics user interface and ease of data entry and ability to change things would make life so much easy for this software. Though the structure is there to support it. **What problems is Infor VISUAL solving and how is that benefiting you?** Visual meets all of our current needs and is very good at managing the flow of materials into and out of the facility.
