Feed 34 contains the fiscal year end fields you need, and this merge also unlocks identifiers including CIK, ticker, CUSIP, and GVKEY - which should resolve your Compustat linking challenges too. Once merged, you can filter by FISCAL_YEAR_OF_OPINION or FISCAL_YEAR_ENDED_OF_OPINION to minimise data loss. I also like to campaigns you make by sending people to conferences, as it also gives direct contact with you. so far, I like it. the customer support is also very detailed. probably it can take some time, but overall I like it: they always try to to provide explanations that are as detailed as possible.
