What I like best about IBM Terraform is its exceptional consistency and reliability when managing infrastructure across multiple cloud providers (AWS, Azure, and GCP) using a single, unified declarative language (HCL). The ability to define infrastructure as code has drastically improved our team's workflow, allowing us to version-control our infrastructure, automate deployments through CI/CD pipelines, and eliminate configuration drift. State management and modularization features have saved us countless hours during environment provisioning and scaling. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the main downsides is managing state file locks and recovery when concurrent pipeline runs fail or conflict, which can occasionally require manual state manipulation. Additionally, handling complex refactoring (such as moving resources across modules or renaming resources using moved blocks) can sometimes be error-prone and tedious on larger enterprise codebases. Managing third-party provider version updates can also introduce breaking changes unexpectedly if not pinned strictly. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
