Hippo Video has been a great new alternative to the traditional sales method. The traditional sales method required our team to travel to be out in front of a lot of people. The current realities of a COVID-19 have drastically changed what we could do safely. While video conferencing and other items like that are helpful tools, they can tend to overwhelm customers when they are being inundated by requests from a lot of vendors for those meetings. Hippo Video provides a great opportunity to add the personalization of video in a format more digestible like a voicemail or email. Plus these videos can be watch on the users time line. Not only are we solving the problem of meeting overload, we are also able to add personality to emails. Just a quick hello video video embedded in an email goes a long way! When we want to step things up a notch, we have also found it super useful to add video explanations when sending quotes or other information. This helps avoid any confusion in proposals and helps move the ball further down field faster! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Hippo Video? I don't like that you have to use the Google Chrome Extension to change from 4:3 to 16:9 ratio. That should be something that is doable with any browser without extensions. Forcing users to use a specific browser can create problems, as not every company allows every browser, and if they do they may require admin passwords just to install extensions. Preferably the same settings would be accessible in any browser w/o the need for an extension. This would allow any user to quickly adjust settings. While video 4:3 is a ratio that is being normalized by social media feeds (primarily instagram), it limits the usage of that video footage for other projects. Allowing 16:9 content to be natively filmed allows for admins like myself to take the footage from the sales team and compile into larger videos. As an admin, another issue that should be resolved is in the video library. When you view all videos, it pulls all of the templated videos that are in each individual users library. This clogs up the Library with loads of things that aren't useful. At the very least, this needs to be something put in a folder separately so that hiding them is easy. They have helped multiple folks on our team with demos, even before we decided to purchase our license. Can't thank them enough for that! In the era we live in, video is no longer an option.
