"Streamlines Customer Feedback Analysis with AI Theme Extraction and Quote Drill-Down"
4/5
What do you like best about HeyMarvin?

I like that HeyMarvin makes it straightforward to unpack open-ended customer feedback from our banking clients without heavy manual work. As a customer experience analyst at a small local bank in Frankfurt, I regularly collect written comments from post-service surveys and call transcripts, and sorting all those free-text replies used to take up huge chunks of my week.

One recent example was our client satisfaction project after we updated our online banking support process. We gathered hundreds of survey responses, many with long unstructured notes about wait times and account query handling. Before HeyMarvin, I would read through every single response, manually tag themes and note sentiment, which was slow and easy for me to miss recurring complaints. With HeyMarvin’s AI theme extraction, it automatically groups similar feedback and highlights repeated pain points, like confusion around document upload requirements for loan applications.

I also really value that I can click into each theme and pull up the original customer quotes. This is critical for our banking team meetings. When I present insights to our service managers, I can back up every trend with real client wording, not just vague summaries, which makes it much easier to push through service improvements. Exporting the analyzed dataset is simple too, so I can drop the results into our internal reports quickly.

Best of all, I don’t need advanced data skills to operate it. I can set up new feedback projects myself, adjust theme groupings, and filter responses without asking our IT team for help. It cuts down hours of repetitive tagging work, letting me spend more time planning concrete service changes rather than just sorting feedback. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about HeyMarvin?

What I dislike about HeyMarvin is its inconsistent handling of German banking terminology within customer feedback. Many of our Frankfurt bank clients submit survey responses in German, using industry-specific terms for loans, accounts and compliance paperwork. The AI sometimes mislabels these niche phrases, grouping unrelated comments together or misjudging sentiment.

I ran into this issue on a recent post-loan application feedback project. Several customers mentioned lengthy ID verification checks, and the AI incorrectly marked some of these negative comments as neutral. I had to manually review hundreds of entries to correct the theme tags, which added extra hours to my workflow.

There is also a limitation when exporting raw quoted feedback for our internal compliance reports. The CSV export occasionally breaks special German characters like umlauts, so some customer quotes display garbled text after download. I have to open and fix those entries one by one before sharing documents with our banking compliance team.

Another small frustration is the lack of native GDPR-friendly access controls for sharing project folders. When I need to share analysed insights with our service team managers, I cannot set granular permissions to restrict view-only access to sensitive client feedback. This forces me to create separate, redacted copies of reports every time, adding another manual step to keep customer data secure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
