"Excellent Support, Intuitive Console, and Predictable Pricing for API Management"

What do you like best about Gravitee.io?

Gravitee stands out for its excellent customer communication and support. During the implementation phase, we had biweekly meetings, and now that the project is live, we continue with monthly check-ins to review our experience, discuss challenges, and address any questions. The team is very proactive and genuinely open to feedback, including feature requests and improvement ideas.

The Gravitee Console is intuitive and easy to navigate, which makes API management straightforward for our teams.

Gravitee has significantly improved our operational efficiency. We now have a centralized platform where we can clearly see which applications are consuming which APIs. This visibility makes it much easier to manage dependencies, monitor usage, and enforce API governance across our organization. It has helped us structure and standardize our API practices, leading to better control and consistency.

Another key advantage is the pricing model. We chose Gravitee primarily because of its fixed pricing approach, which provides better cost predictability compared to competitors that charge based on the number of APIs or API calls.

In terms of performance, Gravitee APIM is excellent. A single gateway can handle several hundred requests per second, and the additional overhead introduced is almost negligible.

We also successfully integrated Gravitee into our CI/CD pipeline using the Management APIs, allowing us to automate deployments efficiently. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Gravitee.io?

At this stage, we haven’t encountered any major drawbacks, and our overall experience has been very positive.

If anything, while the documentation is generally well done, it could sometimes be more detailed for specific or advanced use cases. In a few situations, we found certain parts a bit unclear. That said, the technical team was very responsive and helped us quickly resolve our questions, allowing us to successfully implement the features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Gravitee.io solving and how is that benefiting you?

Gravitee helps us centralize and govern our API ecosystem. Before implementing it, we had multiple APIs across our organization but no unified API management platform, except for a limited scope where we used MuleSoft. This made it very difficult to have a clear view of our ecosystem, especially in understanding which applications were consuming which APIs. As a result, managing dependencies, enforcing standards, and ensuring governance across teams was complex.

With Gravitee, we now have a single platform that provides full visibility into our API landscape. We can clearly identify which applications are calling which APIs, which significantly improves control, traceability, and governance.

Gravitee also allows us to secure our APIs in a consistent way. We implemented Gravitee Access Management to replace Keycloak and now use OAuth2 to secure our APIs. This provides a unified approach to authentication and authorization across our ecosystem, simplifying security management.

In addition, we leverage the Kafka Gateway to govern and secure access to our Kafka cluster. One major benefit is that Kafka APIs are managed in the same way as REST APIs within Gravitee. Applications can subscribe to them through the same platform and use the same authentication mechanisms, which simplifies adoption and ensures consistency across different types of APIs.

Finally, integrating Gravitee with our CI/CD pipeline allows us to automate deployments, reducing manual effort and improving reliability.
