**What do you like best about gPanel?**

I am writing to share my recommendation for Promevo gPanel. Having used this tool for over a decade, I find it to be one of the most effective solutions for managing Google Workspace.

It conveniently combines all administrative options into one platform, which is incredibly useful for user administration, email signature deployment, and reporting. I highly recommend gPanel to other customers looking to streamline their workspace management.

There can be a delay in syncing licensing and user administration between Google Workspace and gpanel.

It should include more reporting templates.

**What do you like best about gPanel?**

The native Google Administrator site has improved over the years, but tools like gPanel still make tasks easier thanks to their thoughtfully designed interface, which integrates seamlessly with Google's API. As a school, I appreciate that they offer competitive pricing and do not upcharge or try to sell additional services. This approach allows me to fully assess and purchase only what I need to meet my organization's requirements. Their customer support is stellar.  We switched to them as preferred Google Partner because of the smooth implementation.

**What do you dislike about gPanel?**

There are two aspects that I find lacking and wish were improved. First, while I appreciate the simplicity of the interface, it can sometimes be unclear what each tool is intended for. Although it's not difficult to click on the help section and read more, I feel the process could be more intuitive. For example, with a tool named "Drive Sweep," it's not immediately obvious whether it finds duplicates, checks permissions, or serves another purpose. Navigating through the options takes extra time, and I believe this could be streamlined. Second, I would like to see either a partnership or an integrated solution for Google Drive Backups. I think there is a real opportunity here, and I wish this feature were available.

**What problems is gPanel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use it for a variety of applications, compliance of storage & accounts insuring files are not shared to incorrect audiences, simplified account provisioning & deprovisioning, automation of email signatures, storage discovery for support requests, delegating access to email, and the automation Out of Office setup and troubleshooting.

**What do you like best about gPanel?**

The ability to automatically update group memberships based on OU membership is great.  Also being able to enforce mail signatures across the organization is a must have.

**What do you dislike about gPanel?**

The interface can sometimes be confusing and selecting users/groups/OUs.  Sometimes the index of users can get out of synch but it is easily fixed.  The main thing I do not like is that all of the features were available for free as part of using Promevo to manage our Workspace licensing.  This recently changed and the price is simply too high per user.

Provides an easy option to manage users in Google Workspace and make bulk updates.

They have addressed many of the shortcomings found in the default Google Workspace UI, either resolving them or making significant improvements.

I still feel that there are many features missing that I would like to see included.

One issue I have with Google Workspace is its ease of use. However, gPanel has introduced several quality of life improvements to the user interface, navigation, and overall functionality of Google Workspace. It even adds features and utilities that are not available in Google Workspace itself.

I love how intuitive and easy to use gPanel is, especially for handling IT administration tasks like managing Google accounts. The setup process was smooth and straightforward, and its features for creating, deactivating accounts, and managing Google Groups significantly streamline my workflow. It's a reliable tool for managing permissions and settings effortlessly.

I dislike that gPanel cannot generate new backup codes for a person. This would be a really good feature to include since we use gPanel daily.

The amount of information it can pull and the amount of actions that can be taken within gPanel that aren't possible within Google Workspace Admin.

Only major downside I've seen is within it's decomissioning processes. Sometimes it's order of operations do not work 100% and will kick of tasks before completing other ones that require the user to still be active.

The level of insight it provides into our user accounts and the actions that can be taken within gPanel based on that information.

The most impressive aspects of gPanel are its ease of use and comprehensive feature set. The interface is intuitive, making it remarkably simple to navigate and utilize its powerful functionalities, even for new users. This ease of implementation was a huge plus, as we were able to get up and running quickly without significant hurdles. The sheer number of features available is outstanding, covering a wide array of needs and eliminating the necessity for multiple disparate tools. Furthermore, the ease of integration with our existing systems was seamless, which is often a major pain point with new software. This has led to a high frequency of use across our team, making it an indispensable part of our daily workflow.
The customer support team is highly knowledgeable and effective, though initial response times during peak hours could be quicker.

**What do you like best about gPanel?**

gPanel lets the Workspace administration team delegate tasks that once took up their time down to the helpdesk. The helpdesk is happy because they can solve user issues without having to pass tickets on to higher tiers. Administrators are happy because simple tasks, like email account delegation, can now be quickly handled by the helpdesk. Users are happy because they get a faster turnaround time on their tickets.

gPanel was trivial to implement for our platform, as it is available from the Google Workspace store. All I needed was an existing service account and about 15 minutes and the setup was done. 

The best single feature of gPanel is the Google Drive integration. Not even the admin console gives you the ability to scan through files -- that's a case for GAM which is a pain because it requires super admin access. But with gPanel, admins and the helpdesk can quickly find files and folders and verify the location and change sharing.

**What do you dislike about gPanel?**

The reporting interface is confusing, especially for large groups of administrators.

**What problems is gPanel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem gPanel is helping solve is the mismatch of supporting twelve thousand users with a handful of administrators. Being able to grant specific admin functions to the helpdesk enables them to handle user issues on their own without having them bottlenecked at the admin level.

**What do you like best about gPanel?**

I've worked with a few Google Workspace tools like gPanel. They all have their faults, but gPanel's faults are few, and the team behind the product are always responsive when I raise a question. The support documentation is broad, useful and well written. Because of that documentation, it took me less than an hour to set up the decommissioning workflows; compared to other tools I've used, this is lightning fast!
Navigation around gPanel is intuitive and straightforward. I love the global search option!

**What do you dislike about gPanel?**

I'm not a fan of the side-scrolling menu in User Management. 
Due to this side-scrolling, a lot of user management options are not immediately visible when viewing a user's profile. An option to modify the order of this menu would make it easier.
gPanel could use some broader options for onboarding workflows. Like detecting a new user and adding them to a group or sending a welcome email for example. The Google API's are available, gPanel just needs to use them

**What problems is gPanel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Reliably automating the steps required to offboarding users is it's biggest benefit. 
Also its Drive management tools are a great help when searching for and changing permissions on documents

I like bulk operations in gPanel. It is the most powerful feature of gPanel.

**What do you dislike about gPanel?**

Sometimes, it freezes. The actions in the Google Workspace log are performed from the service account used for integration instead of my own account. For example, user01@corp.com and user02@corp.com are super admins with access to gPanel. gPanel is connected via sa@corp.com, so you can see all actions made via gPanel in Workspace logs as sa@corp.com-performed actions. The UI looks slightly old-school. New Google Workspace features are delivered to the gPanel with a delay, such as dynamic groups, which are still not available in the gPanel.

Mostly, bulk operations in Google Workspace are the core feature of the gPanel

**What do you like best about gPanel?**

gPanel give great value with an ease to use interface allowing an administrator to complete tasks easily compared to GAT. I used another Admin Workspace tool for many years previous to switching to gPanel and I was surprised how it tries to give the admin a bird's eye view of tasks that normally were scripted or just outputted as a list. The user management, decomissioning, email signature, drive management are my favourites. Setup was quick and intuitive.  I find myself using gPanel first before using the native Google Admin.

**What do you dislike about gPanel?**

My hope is it can offer more audit and automation around Google Drive and Gmail to protect sensitive information and give some compliance based on document tagging and/or keywords. Splitting hairs on this, the support is good but you need to be specific and document it well to get a decent response. I really dont have anything bad to say about it - worth using daily for those tedious IT support requests.

**What problems is gPanel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When looking for a document in an organization, it can be very tedious.  gPanel view of file and folder along with its filtering tools makes these types of requests much easier. When Out of Office issue arrise, gPanel is very intuitive to address eaither a simple update to the Out of Office or more complex ones when an Out of Office replies as plain text and you need to switch it over to Rich Font Text/HTML.  Group and User management is easier than the native tools in Google.  These tasks are time savers and in some case not possible with a tool like gPanel.

There really is nothing bad that I can say about Gpanel, any issues are quickly resolved with their support team.

The number one issue with google is they are constantly moving things around, settings that have existed in one place are moved somewhere else, gpanel for the most part does not have any drastic changes, and even when there are tweaks or updates, it is not like reinventing the wheel so finding stuff is ridiculously easy and straight forward.

I really like the all-in-one portal where I don't have to navigate between different links to get things done. It is very easy to manage users, groups, work on Google Drive. Many customer support requests can be completed right from Gpanel and I use it all the time.

**What do you dislike about gPanel?**

Previously, before the UI change, GPanel would either be down or load VERY slowly. I can say it has improved tremendously and as of now I cannot think of any dislikes.

Gmail settings per-user can be managed from the portal, even sharing google drive items, locating who has access and sharing access. Also, creating and editing users all within the same page.

In the 1 year that we have used this solution, I have not seen anything to dislike.

Google Workspace from an administration perspective is awful. gPanel solves this for us by giving us what 365 Admin Portal provides natively. We are able to provide delegation access, remove email sent in error from all employee inboxes, perform automated offboarding activities, etc. We are able to very quickly provide access to Drive, calendar, rather than asking the end user to provide this themselves.

gPanelds simplifies the process of managing our users by bringing everything together in one convenient portal.

I have found very few drawbacks to using gPanel. Although support has been slow at times in the past, this hasn't really caused significant problems, as the platform generally works reliably. In fact, I can't even remember the last time we experienced any issues.

The main advantage of gPanel is that it centralizes management, making everything accessible through a single, user-friendly portal.

**What do you like best about gPanel?**

The signature automation makes it possible to have and enforce a brand-consistent signature on outgoing emails for all of our users.  I also regularly use the Vacation Responder editor to manage vacationing users' out-of-office message. Promevo's gPanel tool is so helpful to me as a Google Workspace Admin.

**What do you dislike about gPanel?**

I'm disappointed that they are starting to charge for this tool that has been provided for free as part of our partnership with Promevo.  I understand that everyone's entitled to monetize their products...but it still no fun to have to pay for something I wasn't paying for before.

**What problems is gPanel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With gPanel, I'm able to access and manage employees' outgoing email signature, calendar sharing, and vacation responder settings.

The only thing gPanel is missing is that you are unable to get backup codes from gPanel. I still need to log into Google Admin Workspace.

It helps us see all the necessary data of a profile we need, we dont need to go through multiple tabs. Its also easier to provide delegation or offboard a profile. We use it almost daily for anything related to google, its been easier navigating since integrating. It was simple to implement and the customer support has been fine when needed.

**What do you dislike about gPanel?**

No complaints with gPanel, it just disappointing we need a 3rd party application since the native console isn't the most intuitive.

**What problems is gPanel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The native functions in the google admin console are not the most intuitive. They can get confusing and some task take you to multiple tabs where you might need to make small changes at a time to make sure youre editing the correct items.

Nice upgrade from Google's basic admin console. The bulk user management alone saves me tons of time - no more adding people one by one or dealing with Google's clunky interface.
 Way better insights than what you get out of the box with Google.

It's not cheap, and there's definitely a learning curve if you're used to use using Google workspace admin

it can make certain tasks like granting other users access to calendars, switching permissions a little simpler. Downside is the learning curve, lack of documentation

It's a great addon to Google Workspace for small organizations with minimal IT staff. It makes it easier to create granular admin profiles and grant some admin priviledges to non-IT staff. This gives us a great opportunity to assign simple admin tasks to non-admins and lighten our workload.

**What do you dislike about gPanel?**

While it makes the work simpler, it doesn't add to Google. Would be nice if gPanel built up the reporting and intelligence available standard on Google Admin.

Makes it simpler to make granular admin priviledges to get HR to do some IT Admin work.

gPanel really helps us have visibility on our users and the data around them. We are able to provide better support for them with this tool and find things we may not have been able to find before. I use it almost on the daily to support our end users and it was a simple set up to start off with.

Some of the areas are still working out some kinks.

We can better manage google with gPanel as it allows us to see areas google normally does not. Also the automation saves us a ton of time.

The decommissioning components of gPanel have been the largest gain for our Company.  Having the ability to share these responsibilities but not over share has been a game changer for us.

**What do you dislike about gPanel?**

So far, I haven't run into any operational issues with gPanel.  Thankfully, whenever we've needed to engage support they've been very responsive.

Overall, we're using gPanel as the single pane of glass into our Workspace environment.  This gives me an incredible audit log to ensure my team members are taking the proper steps in both account setup and termination.

**What do you like best about gPanel?**

I love being able to edit attributes of a user that are normally hidden in the regular Google Admin console. We frequently use gPanel more than Admin for things like forwarding and delegating emails, transferring Google Drives, and just general account administration.

**What do you dislike about gPanel?**

With being able to choose between v1 and v2 of gPanel, it is a little weird how most things work on v1, but some things you have to switch to v2 for. It doesn't out right say this is the case, so if something doesn't work, you just have to switch and see if that fixes it.

**What problems is gPanel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Much easier way to perform adminstrative tasks than in Google's own Admin console - editing attributes of a user, forwarding and delegating email, transferring entire Google Drive or just folders.

I really enjoy the usability and the varying functionality. I am able to set up decommissioning rules to manage user accounts without thinking about it or mass deleting phishing email out of inboxes. The customer support has been more than helpful.

**What do you dislike about gPanel?**

It may contradict my liked answer a little but there has been rare occassions that certain users haven't synced over from admin console. So I've had to actually do a manual refresh or 'index' to get the data I need. As stated on the best side, the customer support has been helpful, however, the finance team hasn't been very helpful. Although it has only happened once, they have suspended our account due to an internal accounting mistake without confirming anything.

Mostly decommissioning rules.

Gpanel offers quality features that are not available in the standard Google Admin console. It is a good solution for centralized control of our Google Workspace. It is relatively easy to use with some learning curve required as with all admin tools. gPanel customer support is good quality. We often use it for basic system administration tasks and more advanced purposes.

Some features are difficult to locate, and occasionally we have challenges with bugs that exist between gPanel and Google.

Applying company wide signatures is a nice feature as well as the ability to be able to see all users at a glance and edit their information without having to go into the admin panel directly (but is basically the same experience)

**What do you dislike about gPanel?**

You are only able to edit a single signature, you cannot edit/update the user's signatures used when they reply (it only edits the main signature used when sending). 
It doesn't update/edit the user's signature in gmail mobile, that seems to stay the same even if you push the signature company wide, it will only work when they use gmail on the web (not the mobile app)

**What problems is gPanel solving and how is that benefiting you?**

signature population, the rest it doesn't seem to do much else that admin panel can do (admin console does more, better, and more granularly)

Offboarding automation is a great feature that has simplified our user admin processes.

Give admin control over things the google console is lacking. It is a good and complete tool.

It is getting expensive, it is slow and we have a lot of index issues. 
The support is not very good.

We can create multiple roles for different IT staff groups with very specific admin capabilities. This supports our approach of least privilege. This frees up our Google admin from small tasks.

Reporting is adequate but more report types would make it even better.

Distributing Google admin tasks to other IT staff while keeping the principle of least privilege. This frees up Google Admin time from doing small tasks that are low risk and easily done by others.
