  ### 3. Review - Google Fit

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ronak R. | Quality Engineer II, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Google Fit SDK?**

2.Heart Points and Move Minutes
3.Integrated with other Apps and Devices
4.Automatic Activity Tracking
5.No Ads and free to use

**What do you dislike about Google Fit SDK?**

As of now I don't have any dislike about google fit sdk.

**What problems is Google Fit SDK solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The Google Fit SDK solves several problems in health and fitness app development, and here’s how it benefits both developers and end users like

1. Fragmented Health Data

Problem: Health and fitness data is scattered across different devices, apps, and sensors.
Solution: Google Fit SDK centralizes health data (steps, heart rate, nutrition, sleep, etc.) from multiple sources into a single platform.

2. Lack of Standardization

Problem: Different apps and devices use different formats for health data.
Solution: Google Fit uses standardized data types and schemas, making it easy to exchange and interpret data between apps and devices.

3. Difficult Syncing Across Apps

Problem: Apps don’t talk to each other, so data from one app isn’t visible in another.
Solution: The SDK enables real-time data syncing between multiple fitness apps and devices through the Google Fit platform.

4. Battery Drain from Activity Tracking

Problem: Continuous background activity tracking drains the battery.
Solution: Google Fit SDK uses low-power sensors and optimized APIs (like Sensor API and Activity Recognition API) to track movement efficiently.

5. Manual Logging Hassles

Problem: Users often forget or don’t bother to log their workouts or health data.
Solution: The SDK enables automatic activity detection (e.g., walking, running, cycling) and logging without user input.

  ### 8. Google Fit SDK provides a useful centralized platform for accessing health and fitness data

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Harikrishnan G. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Fit SDK?**

Google Fit SDK provides a centralized platform for accessing and sharing data on Android. It helps developers to create more user-friendly experiences for monitoring health data. Google Fit provides real-time access to health data which allows developers to create applications that provide real-time insights. Since Google Fit supports a wide range of devices running on Android and Wear OS, developers can create applications for a broader audience.

**What do you dislike about Google Fit SDK?**

Even though Google Fit supports a wide range of devices that run on Android and Wear OS, iOS support is very much limited. So when you build apps that need to run on both Android and iOS, we need to consider other alternatives too. For a novice developer, the Google Fit SDK is a bit complex to start with especially managing the permissions. Google Fit may use a lot of resources like battery life as it continuously runs to monitor and update health data. Some apps will store their data locally, so that might not be available in Google Fit, so the data is fragmented.

**What problems is Google Fit SDK solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Fit provides real-time access to health data which allows developers to create applications that provide real-time insights.

  ### 9. The best health and fitness SDK,

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alwin J. | Senior software engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Google Fit SDK?**

The SDK has several features that are useful for developers working with health and fitness applications. The best features that I like the most are Cloud Sync and the History API. Cloud Sync helps users access their health information on various devices. Nowadays, users upgrade their devices rapidly, and this feature is helpful to restore all the previous data onto the upgraded device. The History API helps fetch all the past data of users, and this can be used for analytical purposes. It can be used to analyze the trends and visualize the insights of user data. Along with these features, Google SDK has the best customer support and a huge developer community to support and contribute through out the development process.

**What do you dislike about Google Fit SDK?**

I found two factors as downsides of the Google Fit SDK. The first one is that the SDK is a bit complex for beginners. I found difficulty in learning the SDK in the initial phase. The community support helped me grasp most of the things as the documentation felt least effective to me. The later factor is regarding the tight coupling between other Google services. This dependency affects the usage of health applications on some devices that don't have all the Google services.

**What problems is Google Fit SDK solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The History API helps in fetching all the past data of users and this can be used for analytical purposes. it can be used to analyze the trends and visualise the insights of user data. along with these features, Google SDK has a huge developer community to support and contribute through out the development process

  ### 10. Positive experience with Google fit sdk

**What do you dislike about Google Fit SDK?**

**What problems is Google Fit SDK solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google fit sdk is helping developers to easily interact with underlying device sensor
Without fit sdk it would be nighmare for developers to intereact with underlying sensor to get data
Fit sdk provides an abstraction which interact with sensor with help of some easy to use api
