**What do you like best about Google Cloud Shell?**

I like that Google Cloud Shell runs in the browser, which means I can run cloud shell programs from any machine. It works well with other Google Firebase products like Firestore, and from the CLI perspective, it allows me to access both the front end and back end, which is very important. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Shell?**

Google Cloud Shell's memory is not that great.

**What problems is Google Cloud Shell solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Google Cloud Shell lets me run programs from any machine, solving the issue of local versus remote access.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud?**

training is not available that much easily otherwise all is good.

**What problems is Google Cloud solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GCP has multiple in built security tools like Chronicle SIEM and security command center. In GCP we can deploy apps with minimal overhead.

  ### 4. Best part of using GCP as a cloud provider

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Mani Kumar Reddy K. | Senior Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 15, 2022

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Shell?**

I can save all my work and access it anywhere. Sometimes I might not have access to a PC, but I can still get all my info from my phone and can solve critical challenges. Meanwhile all my data is secure.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Shell?**

Limits on the cloud shell are pretty harsh. Obviously, it's not the right solution to use as a personal remote device as it's not the purpose it servers. Yet I miss the storage space and computational power to run more tasks on it.

**What problems is Google Cloud Shell solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I manage cloud services for an application, and I do not have a backup resource when I'm unavailable. Cloud shell allows me to access all cloud services programmatically to solve any critical blocking challenges my application faces.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bipul H. | CP Lead | CodeChef CGC Chapter, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Shell?**

I am using this cloud shell not for hosting or managing servers but for doing my net and memory extensive tasks for free. It provides the following things for free:
- You are getting 16 GB of RAM
- A high-speed internet connectivity (123MBPS download and 13.26MBPS upload)
- A decent 4 core Intel XEON CPU
- Code editor with terminal

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Shell?**

It provides is sufficient to carry out various tasks from a very low-end network device with decent connectivity. A few things I would appreciate are more disk space and a bit more usage quota per week, which is currently limited to 50hrs (7hrs 8min daily approx). There is also a time limit for inactivity after which it get disconnected if we didnt interact with it.

**What problems is Google Cloud Shell solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helped me carry out some tasks that I could not do with a low-end computer earlier. With blazing-fast internet, it becomes speedy to install any project without waiting for a long time for it to get downloaded from the cloud. I also use it to test my application for Linux compatibility as it provides the VM instance running on Linux.

  ### 6. Easy to use and follow the docs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Pritesh C. | Principal Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Shell?**

The glcoud command copy and paste on the shell is a convinient way to SSH into the VM. It has all the latest plugins integreated so easy to deploy them.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Shell?**

They change very frequently but not because of gcloud but anything in cloud business needs to move faster.

**What problems is Google Cloud Shell solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using it for testing infrastructure. It is cheaper than other cloud providers. They support all the platforms for linux as well as of Windows.

  ### 7. Good tool to access and manage Resources

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Shell?**

I like most because I can access and manage the resources in the GCP platform in a few commands. It saves time since we don't have to go through user interfaces for every task. It's efficient and straightforward to use.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Shell?**

Sometimes it gets a bit confusing since I couldn't see the resources in UI's, but it's okay once I get familiar with the shell.

**What problems is Google Cloud Shell solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I used Google Cloud Shell for creating and managing resources for a few projects I did. I think It's fast and efficient than going through the UI's.

  ### 8. Easy to start with

  ### 10. Google Cloud shell making my life easy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sumeet L. | IT cloud Application Support, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2019

**What do you like best about Google Cloud Shell?**

The best part which I like is this amazing feature of Google which helps you to run your scripts and task you need to perform from Command line. You do not have to install any SDK or modules and this is free feature of Google cloud. Google cloud gives you 5GB of persistent storage and on the Linux VM at the backend for which you are not charged. This helps you to run the small amount of workload or probably Batch processing which is great.

**What do you dislike about Google Cloud Shell?**

Well if you have large workloads then you probably should not work with Cloud shell as this will impact the performance and the session will automatically terminate because you get only 5GB persistent storage. another dislike which comes in my mind is if your session is idle for 1 hour the session will again terminate and you will have to launch the cloud shell again. Also if you are new to Linux then you might probably have to learn bit of Linux commands and get the Hands on before using Google cloud shell

**Recommendations to others considering Google Cloud Shell:**

Well this is very Great feature of Google Cloud platform which full full all your demands if you are running low workloads and using it for Testing purpose.

**What problems is Google Cloud Shell solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are using the Google cloud shell to deploy the Web applications which is called google app engine and also for container services. We also use Google cloud shell for cloning the source repository with Git hub using the Git command.
