Consistent and easy to use control structures. Creating multiple copies of a resource with complicated conditions is a breeze when using DM's jinja templates and probably even easier in python (compare it to terraform's "use count for condition" hack or 3 different for-loop syntaxes). Nobody uses it! In other words - Google teams actively advocate against Google's own product in favor of terraform. The consequence is a lack of development in DM and the general vibe of "we would kill that product if we didn't base Marketplace on it".
