Fully Managed & Serverless (Zero Ops)

Google Cloud API Gateway is completely serverless.

I don’t have to manage:

Scaling

Infrastructure

Patching

Upgrades

What do you dislike about Google Cloud API Gateway?

1. Limited Feature Set Compared to Apigee / Kong

Google Cloud API Gateway is very lightweight.

It lacks many advanced enterprise API management features like:

API monetization

Custom policies

Advanced traffic management

Fault injection

Caching

Quotas with complex logic

What problems is Google Cloud API Gateway solving and how is that benefiting you?

Problem: Difficult to securely expose backend services to the outside world

Without an API gateway, exposing Cloud Run/Cloud Functions/App Engine directly requires manual setup of:

IAM permissions

Authentication checks

Routing rules

Load balancer configuration

Benefit:
