The ability to collect direct debits easily and one-off payments! Fees are reasonable compared to some other providers. Third-party integration is also good.

It would be great to have an accompanying mobile app. Having to log into the website can be tedious if you're on the go.

Third-party integration with invoicing software is allowing me to get paid faster.

Fast and reliable payout, I work with them for more than 5 years, and all the time they were in my background and support my business to create more and more sales.

Nothing else all the time all payments come into my account on time never delayed any payment and I never had any problem with my clients, the service provided by them is fabulous

Can I say cost?  Probably unfair to say that.  I guess the cost is commensurate with their competitors.

It solves the problem of clients finding excuses not to pay on time.  We can offer several options, which is excellent.  Thank you.

**What do you like best about GoCardless?**

I don't have to chase customers for payments any more, and know exactly what date I can expect to get paid, making it much easier to plan. Whenever there has been a problem the customer service has also been excellent!

**What do you dislike about GoCardless?**

It would be helpful to have invoices sent to clients when payments are taken. It would also be great to have an app, to help me track things from my phone, which would sometimes be useful.

**What problems is GoCardless solving and how is that benefiting you?**

No longer needing to chase payments, and being confident that I will be paid for the services that I provide to my clients. It's also easy for them to use, and has saved me so much admin time.

GoCardless has made it easy for me to offer my clients a quick and easy way to pay thier bills. Straighforward for me and my clients to setup 75% of my client base now pay via GoCardless.

I've not for any downsides yet from using GoCardless.

The fact we don't have to chase invoices, renew expired credit cards and all invoices+payments are taken automatically.

**What do you dislike about GoCardless?**

When integrating with Xero, the customer syncing process could be a bit easier. You have to create a mock invoice before the contact appears as a customer in the Xero + Gocardless - ready to sync. You also have to hit the re-sync button to make it work immediately.

**What do you like best about GoCardless?**

GoCardless has been very effective in helping us increase the uptake of Direct Debit payments across our services. The system works well and the online dashboard interface is clean and user-friendly.  I have historically found it difficult to speak to a real person at GC, but since having a customer success manager (Bryony), the engagement from GC has been much better.  I have a single point of contact for any queries, which I value highly and she is very effective and provides a great level of service.

**What do you dislike about GoCardless?**

When renewing the contract with GoCardless, the price increased substantially (pretty much doubled).  This has led the organisation to review its strategy for Direct Debit payments as they are no longer any more cost effective than other payment methods which was the reason we went with GoCardless in the first place.

**Recommendations to others considering GoCardless:**

You will need to ensure that your internal developers are able to work with the GC system.  Utilise the sandbox environment and see how they get on.

**What problems is GoCardless solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The benefits of DD payments are that it reduces customer churn, however, we have found that it places a lot of the administration work all at one point in the year.

The data is very is to consume. Both through the UI within the browser and through their browser. We are able to get information into and out of Gocardless in bulk which helps us automate processes.

There are a few currencies that you do not offer but the list is small.

**Recommendations to others considering GoCardless:**

Definitely consider using this platform for managing your payments. Even if it means obtaining a new SUN number. The tool is slick, easy to use and also easy to implement. Their customer support have been nothing short of amazing time and time again. API is easy to script to and there is a wealth of documentation should you get stuck.

**What problems is GoCardless solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have reduced debtor days and reduced the amount of time spent processing and collecting debt. As we have used the API to pull data we are able to build touchless reporting solutions utilising Gocardless data fed into PowerBI.

The requirement for payers to authorise each individual payment. Some customers have ticked this not understanding it's meaning causing delays in payments to us.

I haven't had a problem as of yet. I had a teething issue where a customer registered with an email that didn't match our system and therefore didn't auto-match.

Using GoCardless means that as a scout group we don't take in any cash in hand. Every bit of money we collect from parents is done through GoCardless which is very secure

We have always received exceptional customer service from every member of GoCardless that we have met. We have been used the instant banking feature and they take our feedback on board.

Nothing. There is genuinely nothing that I can fault GoCardless for. When they make mistakes which happens due to human error and not being in our sector they are quick to learn and correct those mistakes. They put in plans to stop those mistakes from happening again.

They have helped us increase our monthly and one-off donations three-fold by advising us on streamlining our donation payment and thanking process. They have also saved us money and helped with integrating our systems to save time and team resources.

Ease of use and the fact that it integrates with our accounts package at Xero has made the implementation of Direct Debit Mandates easy to get up and running. We were daunted by the prospect of Direct Debit until we found GoCardless.

There's nothing to dislike. It does exactly what we need it to do.

Don't hesitate to get involved with GoCardless to setup a Direct Debit solution for your business.

Setting up multiple direct debit mandates to take licensing funds from contracted clients. Our business banking provider was unwilling to help and said it would be prohibitively expensive unless we had hundreds to set up. As repeat fees were new to our business, we needed to find another solution. Using GoCardless has enabled us to set up clients once in our accounting systems, set up repeat billing, and sit back and relax. GoCardless has benefited us by saving us time and hassle whilst delivering the certainty of collecting fees.

**What do you like best about GoCardless?**

Ggocardless allows me to get paid on time with less stress - they really, do do what they advertise on the front page of their website. The tool enables me to work with clients from around the globe in different currencies, taking payments on set dates without chasing people.  It's easy to use and as a company has excellent communications.  I love the fact that the fees are affordable and taken automatically.  Gocardless also has exceptional customer support - nothing is too much trouble and the team are very responsive.

**What do you dislike about GoCardless?**

I didn't find the integration / reconciliation of payments with Xero easy, but it's been a few years since I actually tried, and so probably time for me to re-visit, in all honesty.  One function I would love is to be able to update clients bank details easily, but I understand why its not possible - however, clients often ask.

**Recommendations to others considering GoCardless:**

It's a great product, great customer service and affordable - if not sure ask the Help Team.

**What problems is GoCardless solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The biggest problem Gocardless solves for me, is being able to offer my clients the ability to pay subscriptions on a monthly basis, without me having to worry about them - but also the transfer of funds to my account with ease and without big fees.  So a win win in my eyes.

There is no phone number to call for help. It is via a web portal, and no chat function on their website. Problems can be tedious and slow to resolve. And it takes them 4 days to pay the money into your bank account :-(

Shop around, the technical solution works well. If you can live with "just ok" support once setup and the 4-day delay in receiving payments, you shouldn't have too many problems.

The problem that GoCardless solves is the perennial one of getting clients to pay on time. The benefits are that we don't have to spend time chasing clients for payment, so we have more time to do our work .

Whilst not all of our customers have opted for automated payments, those that have provide us with a portion of highly predictable cash flow which has been amazing. The process has been easy and the experience of our customers with gocardless's systems is very good

The only issue I have with the system is that, when a customer cancels their DD with GoCardless via our system, their data is essentially wiped from GoCardless so it can be difficult to identify who has cancelled! It would be good to have some traceable data or a link left over that we could use to identify who that user was.

We've solved the issue of predictable cash flow and some customers not paying on time. This has been incredibly valuable for us and for our customers who no longer need to worry about their invoices going overdue

I started using GC in 2016, when looking for a good value DD solution.  I found the Banks did not do it well.  I tried this for regular accountancy fees and have not looked back.  Settig up DDs is simple with a great sign up process, which is secure.  Payments are collected on time and paid out, to me within one working day.  Currently there are no charges for returned payments.  The fees are very reasonable, wlthough they had now been told that VAT must be added from this month,  Still great value as it saves me administration time.

**What do you dislike about GoCardless?**

I really cannot think of a downside to the offering

Best solution for collecting regular payments by DD for invoices or subscriptions.

the change to how refunds are handled by gocardless a couple years ago has really made refunds a headache whenever they come up.  which isn't too often, but is still anoying.

Super easy to sign up and launch, and customer service and accounts reps go the extra mile to make sure you are fully comfortable.  Partners love it and get no complaints or queries about it.  easily the most simple payment processor company I have ever dealt with.

we are solving the problem of more and more people moving away from credit cards and looking for alternative payment methods.  this nice and cheap service is great for us and the customers.

Gocardless is so easy to use and set up. invoices are uploaded instantly so you can see where they are in the process and when you will get paid.  Gocardless can be integrated into your accounts software so it automatically  updates your accounts.

There is a slight delay in getting paid but it's only seven days which most people can live with.  They do have a new offering which does pay out within a day or two if that is required.

Getting paid on time can be a problem in any business but with Gocardless you can forget about all of that.  Therefore less stress is one of the main benefits I would say.

I agree with others who have given them a roasting.  In our case they asked questions about who we take money from, why, and what we spend it on.  They got stuck on the fact we hire lawyers for our legal work which was a silly thing for them to do.

However the real rub is that they said we failed because of our 'restricted activities'. We looked at their list and can confirm we do not engage in any of their activities.  They won't explain what they mean.

They also said they were required to comply with that list because of a range of reasons such as other bank policies.  That, in our view, was a poor explanation and in all likelihood, an attempt to deflect any criticisms of their own beliefs onto others.

I know we're being quite tough on them but their interest in our internal workings and considerations was unwarranted - and then they deliberately tried to muddy the waters around their policies.

If they have a concern about someone's activities, they should report them to the relevant authority. Otherwise they come across as a payment company steered by a board preoccupied with social values that have no relevance to their industry.

**Recommendations to others considering GoCardless:**

My recommendation is don't use them.  They have a list of 'restricted activities' for no obvious reason.  They won't take ownership of their own screening policy.

**What problems is GoCardless solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The problem I'm trying to resolve is to have a payment integration with my accounting software. It looks like they have the capability but I haven't realised any benefits from them and seem unlikely to.

It's hard to fault the tool but perhaps more options for recurring payments for taking subscription and membership payments. However, I am very happy with the system as it is.

GoCardless makes it easy to collect payments from my customers, so I spend less time chasing invoices. They also collect from other countries and in different currencies (although that can be as expensive as a credit card), but I find it easy to use the same platform for everything. Also, their support is fast and effective; I know I can rely on them.

**What do you dislike about GoCardless?**

The collection and payout time for my Canadian customers is long. I wish it were as fast as it happens for my UK customers (and cheaper too). Also, I have to reconcile the payouts in Xero for some reason manually. It's not a huge hassle, but I need to do it every month or so.

**What problems is GoCardless solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GoCardless is helping me to forget about chasing invoices. Collecting recurring payments by direct debit is so much easier than relying on the customers to remember to pay.

**What do you like best about GoCardless?**

While I was looking into the various payment gateways available when preparing to launch a membership, GoCardless was recommended to me due to their low fees.

Having dabbled with a different platform and found it to be very confusing and getting myself in a muddle with it, I was concerned that this would be much the same.

I was pleasantly surprised however, it was incredibly quick and easy to set up, which as a total novice in this area was absolutely perfect for me!

I've had absolutely zero problems with GoCardless and have been using it for around a year now.  I often set up landing pages for clients and always integrate GoCardless into their pages for taking payments.

Happy to recommend as I think it's a great product and the recent developments with the Instant Payments has been a total game changer as I can now not only collect my monthly membership fees but sell products too.

I get notified every time I recieve a payment into my bank, and can also easily see what is on it's way.

If you're looking for a payment method for your business, definitely take a look at this!

Before GC I would send all my therapists at our clinic an invoice and they would pay by bank transfer. Some would forget and I would have to remind them, this soured relationships. With 12 people all paying by bank transfer that's 12 bank charges to pay. Now with GC I send them an invoice and 10 days later I take payment by direct debit. All payments merged into one saving 12 bank charges and an end to late payments. This improves cash flow. It also saves on accountancy fees. For the company tax return the accountant has to do a breakdown, therapist by therapist for payments. Beforehand it was  trawl through the bank statements incurring huge accountancy fees. Now we can just do a print out. This saves several hundred pounds a year.

**What do you dislike about GoCardless?**

Nothing at all. You'd be a fool NOT to use GC in your business. I love all parts of it.It could not be improved at all. Perhaps on bank statements you could reveal who the payee is.

Time, bank changes, late payments and it improves relationships. IT has saved hundreds of pounds in accountancy fees and bank charges. It has improved time management and we are far more productive

Creating new plans (either for ongoing or one off payments, could not be simpler. There is very little jargon used within GoCardless and it feels like the system was created with the customer in mind.

The only frustration I have with GoCardless is that the payments come to me with long reference number which means nothing to my business; just means reconciling takes a little longer than it could.

There is a cap on fees per transaction which is really competitive in the payment processor market. The QuickBooks connection is simple to use and I love it, they connect easily and with no add on fees.

I wish it did everything and not just Direct Debit, as it's insanely effective and easy to use. More emails informing you of activities would be really useful as it just works away on it's own but it would be good to have these features.

Recurring income has been made easy through GoCardless. I can get this set up and don't have to think about it. I would recommend this to anyone. The Payment Links in particular are brilliant.
