Gitlab is used extensively as the central hub of our team based workflow that handles repositories, branches, pull requests, and code reviews. Feature branches are used to control the scope of development work, and pull requests are used for reviewing, communicating, and ultimately merging changes. With Gitlab Actions, we automate testing and deployment tasks, and issues are used as a common repository of development and bug tracking. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The interface can feel a bit cluttered when we have lots of repos, branches, pull requests, and notifications going on simultaneously. Creating more complex GitLab Actions workflows may require a bit of technical experience for advanced CI/CD workflows. Some admin and security features require upgrading to higher-tier plans and can be costly as our team grows. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
