"Git Makes Collaboration, Version Control, and Releases Effortless"

What do you like best about Git?

Git, as a version control system, works like free storage for all my code. Not just code either—I also use it as a hardcoded database for my online apps, basically free storage that lets me handle a small amount of traffic on my websites. On top of that, features like branching, pulls, and everything around that make it easy for me and my college mates to work alongside each other, with solid control over the code and who does what. Debugging becomes easier, and version releases and rollouts are simpler too. Overall, it’s all great. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Git?

I don’t think there’s anything to dislike about Git, to be honest. The UI/UX is simple and intuitive, although terminal commands do take some time to get the hang of. Performance hasn’t been an issue for me either—it feels nearly instant, even on a codebase. Pricing is free, although GitHub AI Copilot has gotten a little expensive recently and eats credits really quickly. Not directly related to Git itself, but GitHub AI can still assist with it, so that helps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Git solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before I started using Git, my code was stored locally and I didn’t have any version control. If multiple people wanted to make changes, we had to share files back and forth, and the communication gap was huge. After Git, everything is on the cloud, so everyone can access it, and we have a clear record of who made which changes. Branches and other features also make it feel more real-world ready. It saves time and effort and makes the whole process easier. Integrations and debugging have gotten easier too, since everything is cloud-based. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
