It is an easy and free way to create art for video game development and graphic design. I use it for UV editing and for creating textures for video games. I also use it for graphic design. I use it to create all of the social media pictures such as ads, promos, and cover art. I love the simplicity of creating a logo in this program as well as the UI for video games. (main menus and whatnot) It's easy to learn as well and works great with my Wacom monitor. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about GIMP? Nothing, I love it. I does everything that I need it for. I haven't had any problems. Its been my favorite software for art for many years now. As with all software there is a learning curve, although if you are familiar with similar software then switching over is pretty easy. The best part is that GIMP is free! Also, as I may have mentioned before, it is FREE! Loads of customization and many things you can do with it. I have had it for years and I still haven't used everything that it has to offer. Its a free and simple way to earn money by creating art. Its great for video game development. I can add color to my 3D characters, I can create promotional material, and create 2D art as well. If you are a photographer, it is perfect for editing and enhancing an image. You can remove red eye, edit out blemishes, sharpen an image, enhance the colors, add vignette, and anything else you would expect from a professional software, except it is free!
