## GIMP Reviews
  ### 1. GIMP- The free version of PHOTOSHOP but with less tools.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rishma R. | Information Communication Technology Teacher, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 21, 2023

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

GIMP is a free software and a great alternative for people who find it difficult to pay for Photoshop. It is a great software to help create visuals for my social media. The tools are laid out in an efficient manner and the hovering tooltip always provides sufficient explanation on each tool. It is user-friendly as well. It is not that complicated and actually easy to get a hang of. I use the software often as it is quick and efficient.Images can be exported in various formats.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

The selection tools are not so precise. It does not have the Magnetic Lasso tool unlike Photoshop so the output can be slightly messy.I wish they introduce more modern UI tools. Limited third party plugins.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GIMP helps me quickly and efficiently create, edit and export visuals. It is also free and has a lot of tools that you have to typically pay for in another software so it is cost-effective. GIMP is also user-friendly and easy to get a hang of. It allows me to export images in different formats.

  ### 2. GIMP you way to SNAPS

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shanbagam T. | Manager- Business Operations, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 03, 2023

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

Free Source Software, is available with enormous features equivalent to the professional, paid software that is available in the market. Initial difficulties are blown after we master the software. Ease of use is the major feature of the software. Editing requirements are met with GIMP at any level. We can do wonders with the software. Even for CAIE exams, we can use the free software.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

Downsides are initial difficulties in finding the shortcuts of the software that make the navigation pretty tough. To get the grip it takes some time.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Collage, photo editing, adding new features in the snaps that create memory, crop, apply layer, and any available editing tools are the benefits of GIMP

  ### 3. GIMP - A free alternative to the industry grade expensive softwares

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Prathik R. | Graphic Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 03, 2024

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

GIMP follows the layer system for editing of images and manipulation of layers efficiently. It is a promising software that has a possibility to reach a wider audience of creative people.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

The User Interface and the tools are quite overwhelming on the basis of how they are arranged and displayed. For first time user when one opens GIMP, it looks quite confusing

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a free and open source alternative to edit photos and deliver it to clients whereas certain softwares are quite expensive

  ### 4. Comprehensive Review of GIMP Photo Editing Software

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sahishnu H. | Data analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 28, 2023

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

GIMP is a great software which offers a wide range of tools for exploring one's creative potential. The excellent user interface makes editing easier for those just starting out. It works with a variety of operating systems. GIMP offers a robust set of tools for image manipulation, including layers, masks, filters, and various brushes, empowering users to unleash their creativity. It has broad support for plugins. For beginner level editing, there are tutorials available. It is free to use which provides a good substitute of photoshop.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

Although it is a great alternative software of photoshop but it doesn't contain some of the advance editing tools like spot color support and vector layer masks. It have limitations for multiple file formats.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I have personally used gimp in Mac for resizing, color correction, converting image formats, layer editing etc. It makes it simple to do minor changes in the final designs as catalogues requires small edits frequently so it is easy to do it in gimp.

  ### 5. Increase Your Creativity With GIMP

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Serkan Y. | Sistem Uzmanı, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

One of my favorite features is that it is free. It has easy to use and user friendly interface. Customer support is helpful and solution oriented. Implementation is easy and smooth. We didn't try any integration but i'm sure it was easy. We are daily user of GIMP.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

1) Sometimes big JPEG files stucks in GIMP.
2) The text editor of GIMP needs improve.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1) It is completely free. This is good for our budget.
2) File Format Support. GIMP supports almost all file formats so we don't need another photo editing tool.
3) Community Support is always helps and we can easily solve our problems with GIMP.

  ### 6. Best free image editor that suits your needs

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vidhya S. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 02, 2023

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

GIMP is free and the best alternative to any paid image editing software. Although Photoshop is the industry standard for advanced image manipulation, GIMP is excellent for basic editing, cropping, and resizing, proving to be an excellent substitute for the old Paint. You can use GIMP on multiple OS, such as Windows, Mac, and Linux. GIMP has an active and competent developer team who push updates and fix bugs often. Compared to Paint, GIMP is excellent as it allows you to create layers, filters, and replace any white parts of images with alpha backgrounds for convenience. Although GIMP lacks some features you may find in Photoshop, you can add plugins and scripts to GIMP to add new features that aren't there from the get-go. You can also add automation scripts to automate certain tasks. GIMP's compatibility with different file types is quite vast, allowing you to save and edit images of JPEG, PNG, GIF, PSD, etc formats.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

Compared to Photoshop, I've noticed a little slower responsiveness on GIMP. With Photoshop now implementing AI features, GIMP falls very behind for industry usage and doesn't quite measure up.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GIMP is excellent for creating models and algorithms. We work on software development projects daily, catering to different requests by all our customers. Our team manages both the design as well as the interface, so GIMP is quite essential for us to create layouts and design how we want the UI. We can use drawn images as reference for completing the designs. GIMP can also be screenshared on any video conferencing software, making it convenient to discuss and collaborate on the algorithms and models. On certain video conferencing apps where whiteboarding isn't satisfactory, GIMP is the best and most reliable substitute. GIMP is also useful for resizing and cropping images. GIMP minimizes pixel loss when scaling an image up and provides the most clarity out of any image editing app I've ever used. Our design team also uses GIMP to create wallpapers and icons for web design projects. Despite being free to use, GIMP is extremely easy to learn and there are plenty of tutorial videos on Youtube to get used to the software for those unfamiliar with image editing and manipulation.

  ### 7. Good photo editor

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ziya M. | Regional Training Expert, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 09, 2023

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

I think it is the best free photo editing software. As a user who needs basic photo editing features, gimp offers more than I need. One of the great features I found was photo slicing tool using guidelines!

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

Although I'm using gimp for many years, I still find it difficult to get used to the interface and tools. Additionally, working with paths and colorizing could more flexible! once you colorize the path you get a solid copy of it, you are not really colorizing the path as a vector! so if you change the vector path you need to re-colorize it :(

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is helping me in the basic editing of photos and images that I use for webdevelopment. It is saving me huge subscription fees to other paid tools! I don't need any other tool for editing images.

  ### 8. Awesome Image Editing Tool

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen S. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 09, 2023

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

The greatest thing about GIMP is that it's a free and open-source image editing software available for any operating system. It serves as an excellent alternative to Adobe Photoshop, offering advanced image-editing features that surpass those found in basic programs like Paint. With GIMP, you can work with multiple layers, making editing and adding new content to images much easier. Resizing and scaling images can be done effectively without significant loss of quality. GIMP provides convenient tools for rotating pictures or layers, and the transparency layer is particularly noteworthy, allowing you to create drawings with an alpha background. It's also efficient in removing borders from images and cropping them precisely to the desired content. Seamlessly recoloring specific parts or the entire image is possible through various features like recolor, highlights-shadows, hue-lightness-saturation, and more. GIMP is a universal image editor that supports various formats, including PNG, JPG, TIFF, GIF, and even WebP. Compared to the expensive subscription model of Photoshop, GIMP stands out as an exceptional alternative for new or novice designers, providing powerful image editing capabilities without the hefty price tag.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

One drawback of GIMP is its slow boot time. It takes a few seconds for the program to open after selecting "Open with GIMP" from the right-click menu on an image file. Additionally, while GIMP is an excellent option for beginners, it may not be as well-regarded in the professional design industry, where Photoshop dominates. Photoshop is considered the industry standard, and those with expertise in it often have better career prospects. Therefore, GIMP may have limitations in terms of professional use and advancement.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GIMP has been my preferred image editing solution for over a decade. It solves various problems, such as easily converting images from PNG to JPG or other formats. When saving images from browsers, they often come in the WebP format, which default image viewers or basic editors like Paint cannot open. GIMP allows me to conveniently open and edit these images or save them in more widely supported formats like JPG or PNG. GIMP is particularly useful in web designing projects, where I utilize the image editor to create layouts and banners for websites, enhancing their visual appeal using CSS. Additionally, GIMP aids in creating visually appealing slides for presentations by incorporating images or banners. Having previously used Photoshop and transitioning to GIMP due to its free nature, I find that GIMP offers all the necessary features without any notable omissions from Photoshop.

  ### 9. Smooth, simple, easy to use!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amber F. | Sales Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2024

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

Gimp is fully featured without a huge per seat cost. It has everything I need to edit professional looking photos or create high quality digital art.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

If I have to pick something, it's that the icons are small and sometimes hard to see which one I want when I'm working on a larger project.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gimp makes it easy to merge two images, or to edit photos I need for presentations.

  ### 10. Powerful and free image editing software

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anjana P. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2023

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

I love that GIMP is free to use, making it easier for users and organizations to access and choose as an image editing software. GIMP's code is open-source, so software developers can improve and customize the software to suit their individual needs. It has an active community, so any bugs that appear are immediately reported and fixed quickly. I like that GIMP is cross-platform with available Windows, Mac, and Linux downloads. Whether on my laptop or my Linux system, I can easily use GIMP to edit images. Despite being free, GIMP is an excellent competitor to Adobe Photoshop. GIMP has pro features such as layers, masks, customizable brushes, color effects, etc., allowing you to perform in-depth image editing and manipulation seamlessly. Like most open-source applications, GIMP's features can be improved using plugins. You can enhance the functionality and download additional tools to manipulate and edit images better.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

GIMP lacks support for CMYK files. GIMP only uses RGB, so the accuracy and control for handling CMYK files are terrible in comparison. If you're working on images that require accurate color management for printing brochures, flyers, etc., GIMP is unsuitable.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GIMP has been an excellent image editing tool for web development. It allows us to optimize and prepare images for website projects and provides features such as compressing, resizing, and optimizing images. These are crucial for decreasing load times and making the web design more efficient. GIMP is also essential for creating charts, diagrams, and other drawings for webinars, documents, and presentation slides. We also use GIMP vehemently for creating prototype interfaces for the software we're working on. It allows us to design and visualize how we want the UI to be with the help of layers. At the basic level, GIMP is excellent for editing images, such as cropping and resizing images, changing colors, removing backgrounds and adding alpha channels, and applying effects to sharpen or blur certain areas. GIMP has been the best implementation without making any monetary investment and allowed us to use the budget to improve other sites.

  ### 11. Linux's Adobe photoshop

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Aprajeeta S. | Founder & CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 20, 2023

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

The tutorials that redirect to the tutorial guide offer easy and step-by-step editing options. When Adobe Photoshop won't run easily on Linux, Gimp is the savior there as it's already installed on Linux. I use it often to tune my images and make them e-commerce-ready.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

Not so easy UI. If you are slightly from the technical background you will understand points slowly however, the same doesn't work when you are not so photo editor friendly person.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Being a Linux user for over 7 years, I used numerous ways of easy installation Photoshop for editing product photographs of my handmade products, and for sure it helped me a lot. To me, it comes really handy for fine tuning images.

Its layer function helps me to edit and use filters on layers.

  ### 19. Awesome Graphics editor

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Manuel L. | GIS Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 22, 2023

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

GIMP is a well-rounded image manipulator. It's incredibly powerful, especially for freeware. I use it predominantly for use in ArcGIS. I often need to overlay historical maps, and GIMP helps me to clean up a lot of the noise. It also helps me convert between file types easily. I especially enjoy the ability to drag and drop a PDF and convert any page to a .tiff file. If your company is looking for a cheap and easy way to deal with images needing pre-processing, GIMP is a great choice. There are way more functions and uses akin to Photoshop but I am not well versed in that program to provide a comparison.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

There is a learning curve like any other powerful program. But a lot of functions are easy to use and very natural to use regardless of any experience with any other program.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I deal with many historical maps that are not always in the best digital condition. Often its scanned images or even just photos of a photo. I use these images as overlays to create maps of archaeological data. Often times these maps require some cleanup before they can be brought into ArcGIS. On the simpler side, I use GIMP to crop and adjust images. On the more complex side, I use tools like Despeckle and Threshold to clarify old maps. It's also very useful for converting between file formats. It can even maintain or remove projection files from USGS maps.

  ### 20. Gimp is a great photoshop alternative

**Rating:** 3.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Daniel R. | Chief Web Officer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2023

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

GIMP is free and has continually improved its capabilities. It is one of the original open-source graphic editing programs that directly competes against Photoshop as far as I know.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

GIMP feels open-source, it doesn't have the same type of polish that Adobe products have. It still looks very dated and does have a bigger learning curve than Photoshop.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GIMP is a great alternative for someone who does not want to pay Adobe's fees. It can handle photo editing and is very powerful.

  ### 21. Solid open-source Photoshop alternative

GIMP's major selling point is that it's free. But it's also a very good image manipulation platform that more than holds its own.

GIMP provides a huge range of powerful tools and features for editing images, I have found that GIMP has almost every feature professional, paid products have like layers, filters, masking etc. the fact that all these powerful image editing tools are open source and free is amazing, the GIMP developers should be commended.

With Gimp, you have a professional photo editor that is completely free, thanks to it being open-source software, and it can also be used on multiple platforms.

  ### 27. Best free substitute for Photoshop!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nancy T. | Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 07, 2023

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

GIMP is a free and open-source image editing software available for any OS. It's the best free substitute for Adobe Photoshop as it's free and contains advanced image-editing features unavailable in Paint. You can add and work with multiple layers for an image, making editing and adding new content easier. GIMP has easy tools to resize images without losing much quality and scale images up or down. GIMP allows you to rotate pictures or layers with ease. The best part of GIMP is the transparency layer, where you can draw anything with an alpha background. You can remove borders from images and crop the image to the content efficiently. You can recolor any part or the entire image seamlessly through features such as recolor, highlights-shadows, hue-lightness-saturation, etc. GIMP is a universal image editor that supports any format. You can save the images you work on as PNG, JPG, TIFF, GIF, etc. GIMP can also be used to open WebP images in the editor. Compared to Photoshop, which now requires a $20 subscription every month, GIMP is the next best solution for any new or novice designer looking for the best alternative.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

GIMP's boot time is slow. It takes a few seconds after you right-click on an image file and select Open with GIMP for it to open the editor finally. The only downside to GIMP is that you cannot build a career with it. The design industry heavily prefers Photoshop and those well-experienced in it as it's the standard. While GIMP is excellent for beginners, it has no scope outside personal use.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GIMP has been my go-to image editing solution for well over a decade. Converting from PNG to JPG or other file formats has been relatively easy, thanks to GIMP. When I save images from Chrome, they're always saved under the WebP format, which the default image viewer or Paint on Windows cannot open. Using GIMP, I can conveniently open the images to edit or save them as JPG or PNG for less hassle. GIMP is very handy for web designing projects where we use the image editor to make layouts and banners we embed on the website using CSS. I also use GIMP to help create slides for presentations wherever an image or a banner is required to make the presentation more visually appealing. As someone who previously used Photoshop and switched to GIMP since it was free, there's not a single feature I miss in Photoshop, as GIMP covers everything.

  ### 28. A lightweight and free alternative to photoshop

**Reviewed Date:** September 21, 2023

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

The similarity to Photoshop workflow. It is an almost seamless transition for the regular Adobe user.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

It is somewhat limited in resources and document formats fidelity output

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gimp helps our workflow as we can have it installed in all of our collaborators machines for free and they can make quick edits on the images and graphics when needed.

  ### 29. Free but great.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Higher Education | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 27, 2023

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

Gimp is an amazing tool. You can do most everything that more expensive apps can do, but for free! It is also available on many different platforms which means i can reccomend it to everyone.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

The interface is a little dated. Some knowledge of file formats is needed to use the save function properly.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I need a graphic for a project, or for a slide in a powerpoint I always use gimp. Resizing, or color correction are very handy.

  ### 30. One of the best image editors for professionals

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Saurabh M. | Content creator, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 25, 2023

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

I use GIMP primarily for editing images and layer-wise correction of images. This tool has dramatically helped me to work with image processing for big and small needs.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

While GIMP is a great tool to work with, I find it a bit RAM-consuming, and my laptop functions a bit slower when it is running. This is probably a personal issue, but I would love it if there were a fix.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work in the software industry, and in a more specific manner, I work with a tool that performs automated testing through image processing. I struggled a few days back with other image editing tools like Photopea, but this is the best.

  ### 31. A Review for GIMP Software

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 08, 2023

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

What I like best about GIMP is its simplicity and cross platform support. The control and designs are intuitive and does not require highly specialized training.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

The downsides of GIMP and its simplicity is its lack of much more complex functions which are present in software such as Adobe Photoshop. It would be nice for more features to be added while making sure the simplistic nature is preserved.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GIMP helps me do quick photo editing while still being able to implement more functionality unlike native Paint in Windows. Since GIMP is cross-platform, I am able to use GIMP to edit images in Linux as well.

  ### 32. Not a bad choice

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

It´s free. It´s very convinient and productive.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

For now I´m satisfied, because I use it like additional tool for working with Figma

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I need to make a lot of subscription to pay montly (more than 5) like individual, but GIMP saved a lot of money.

  ### 33. A free and worthy competitor for image editing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 28, 2021

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

It is free and available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It has many tools for image and photo editing. Did I mention that it is free? Well, it is free.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

I think this application has a learning curve because it is not intuitive. Also, if the operating system you are using is in a different language, you can expect to have your shortcuts assigned to other letters, which can be frustrating.

**Recommendations to others considering GIMP:**

If you have never used an image editing tool before, give Gimp a try. It is free, and it has all the tools you need, even though it has somewhat of a learning curve.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gimp has many tools for image and photo editing - it is easy to resize an image, add annotations, or make a layout for a poster or book cover. Also, since Gimp is free, whenever I have to use a computer that lacks an image editing tool, I download Gimp to do simple edits on images.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use GIMP for making logos and editing photos. The layering feature helps in editing more productively and professionally. It is a free tool and the best alternative of Photoshop, and we do not need to buy any costly software for graphics and editing content.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

GIMP provides a complete powerful image Manipulating toolkit as absolutely free. No hidden condition. The affordability makes it easier for new users and small business to leverage a high quality image editing tool without having to being caught up with subscriptions.

Since GIMP is free, it lacks in some places. Nothing extremely significant, but important features. Like for example, GIMP could improve the UI to accommodate new users.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I very frequenctly use GIMP in creating, editing and exporting high quality images for presentations and websites. Since I am not a full time designer, my usage with inages is sporadic, hence GIMP is perfect for me as I don't have to worry about subscribing everytime I have to use a image editor.

  ### 39. Best tool for quick repeatable tasks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 15, 2022

**What do you like best about GIMP?**

I love GIMP. We use it as a free alternative to Photoshop for the majority of our marketing team. It is easy to learn and makes repeatable tasks with a non-designer a snap. It is easy to install, train others and use. It is nearly as powerful as the alternative which makes design tasks easy. Things like changing file formats, colors and making transparent background on images are much easier with GIMP than alternatives.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

There is not the community that you get with Photoshop online. People post tutorials, but it takes more time to find answers. Also, there is no phone app that really works well for quick on-the-go tasks. If the GIMP community would build one - or an online version that would be wonderful, and I'd probably move away from Photoshop. There needs to be more development focus that makes illustrator - not just photoshop - irrelevant.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GIMP helps us with more than half of our image design needs for field marketers, web designers and other marketers who need images quickly and efficiently. We have a few designers on competitive products, but GIMP meets the needs of 90% of use cases.

I used it to create images, icons, vector images for websites, and different-sized images for different social media posts. Easy to remove and change image background. That's a free, powerful, and feature-rich tool.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

I have never felt like it is lacking somewhere. It perfectly did all my jobs. Its UI is outdated, but most free and open-source tools look the same, so it's OK for me. I am used to it.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

GIMP is surely the most powerful FREE image editing software. It has almost all the most desired tools, filters and effects. As many famous free software, it enjoy a vast and supportive community.

**What do you dislike about GIMP?**

The main problem is that since most people comes from the major paid products, the workflow of GIMP is largely different ad unsettling. All the shortcuts, the gestures and the right clicks behave differently from any other image editor you may have learned before. This is a issue even if this is the first software you learn. When the time will come to switch to a professional solutions you'll start almost from zero.

**What problems is GIMP solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Gimp is good for almost every minor graphic editing you can find occasionally. The clone tool does its job perfectly at removing watermarks, you can easily copy/paste sections of images and you can work with every kind of image format ever invented.
