Galaxy Digital's platform GetConnected creates the kind of central digital hub lacking in most communities: a highly localized digital platform to broker the relationship between volunteers and the immense amount of good being done in the community...but often difficult to mine out and discover for the typical community member. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com. What do you dislike about Get Connected by Galaxy Digital? We would love for future versions to continue to customize the user profile in additional ways. For example, we had to really wrangle the causes and passions down to 24. Yes, there are the "typical" biggies (food insecurity, housing & homelessness, education, etc). But, there are easily an additional 5-10 beyond the 24 options that had to be "force-fit" into the 24. We are also looking for ways that Galaxy Digital can become the complete and ongoing "record" of a volunteers: not just volunteer service, but logging growth classes they participate in (like "Bridges out of Poverty" and the Racial Equity Institute) and forums they attend. Recommendations to others considering Get Connected by Galaxy Digital: GetConnected from Galaxy Digital is, by far, the strongest volunteer engagement platform that also allows a solid user support process from the "broker" of those volunteer opportunity. What problems is Get Connected by Galaxy Digital solving and how is that benefiting you? Two distinct advantages for our community: 1. The "democratization of data" for volunteers: i.e., giving volunteers full access to as broad a range of data about ALL volunteer opportunities as possible without a gatekeeper--even if that gatekeeper is simply a LACK of concrete volunteer app's on any given agency's main website. 2. Our ability to support volunteers finding their fit: we believe every volunteer has a unique place to serve in the community, and Galaxy Digital supports that "placement process" in concrete and practical ways.
