One of the many things that I like about GarageBand is the ease of use. I am only self-taught as it comes to recording and mixing, and I find GarageBand very user friendly. I was able to navigate, record and rough mix with very little difficulty. This is a great program these days especially for the individuals that are looking to record some of their solo work to be able to showcase to venues or for small demos etc. The quality of the audio is really good as well so it just adds to the showcase that comes after the recording. I think that it would be a little better if the process to get it out to an audio file that can be sent or played on a player. I find it a little cumbersome and tricky, but this is something very minor that I am speaking of, otherwise I would have to say that it is pretty solid all around. I was always leery at the beginning to even start because I really had no clue, but this program makes it very friendly and easy to get started and learn how to use the different nuances. The main problem I am solving is having a program, that doesn't cost me a lot except for my time, to record demos of my solo work.
