## Freelancer.com Reviews
 ### 1. Great Platform for Freelancers, but Highly Competitive

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Suraj K. | Support Engineer, Computer & Network Security, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

Freelancer.com provides a great platform to connect with clients from all over the world. I like the wide variety of projects available, flexible working opportunities, and secure payment system. It helps freelancers grow their skills, build a strong portfolio, and earn independently while working from anywhere.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

One thing I don’t like about Freelancer.com is how tough it can be for new freelancers to get started because of the high competition. It often feels like you have to bid very low just to win your first few projects. The service fees are also a bit high, which cuts into earnings. Sometimes there are low-quality or unclear job postings, and dealing with clients who have unrealistic expectations can be challenging.

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Freelancer.com solves the problem of finding clients and work opportunities in one place. Instead of searching for projects manually or relying on personal contacts, I can easily connect with clients from different countries. It benefits me by giving me a steady flow of opportunities, helping me earn independently, and allowing me to work remotely. It also helps me build my portfolio and gain experience across different types of projects.

 ### 2. Smooth, Professional Freelancer Verification Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** IBRAHIM A. | Full-stack Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

I had a very positive experience during the Freelancer verification interview. The process was smooth, professional, and well-organized from start to finish. The interviewer was respectful, clear in communication, and made the entire interaction comfortable and easy to follow.

All questions were relevant and fairly asked, allowing me to properly present my skills and experience. I especially appreciated the friendly attitude and professional approach, which reflects well on the platform’s standards.

Overall, it was a great experience, and I’m satisfied with how the verification process was conducted. Highly appreciated.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

One thing that could be improved on Freelancer.com is the dispute resolution process, as it can sometimes feel slow and not fully transparent for freelancers. Additionally, the platform fees and bidding competition can be quite high, especially for new freelancers trying to establish themselves.

Improving communication speed, fairness in disputes, and offering better support for new freelancers would make the overall experience even better.

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Freelancer.com solves the problem of connecting skilled professionals with clients from all over the world in a secure and structured environment. It provides a centralized platform where freelancers can find work, showcase their skills, and build long-term client relationships without needing their own marketing channels.

For me, it has been highly beneficial as it allows me to consistently find projects, grow my income, and work with international clients. The platform also ensures secure payments through milestone protection, which builds trust and reduces risk. Overall, it has helped me scale my freelance career and expand my professional reach globally.

 ### 3. Wide Range of Projects, Easy Bidding, and Responsive Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raj K. | Freelance, Translation and Localization, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

It offers a wide range of projects to choose from, allowing you to start earning after your bid is accepted. If you possess a skill, you will undoubtedly find numerous projects to work on. The bidding process is straightforward, and the chat option gives you the opportunity to showcase and discuss your plus-points.
The customer support is very useful, and they respond quickly. Even with the free version, you can use it to bid for a decent number of projects. The paid version helps target selling your best skills. There are contests for you to compete in. You can also use the Android or Apple app for on-the-go bidding and managing your stuff.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

Sometimes, despite submitting excellent bids, you may not get the project. You've got to be consistent in finding and bidding for work, which may be stressful and time-consuming for some people.
You may also come across some fraudsters who may not pay for your work or coerce you to go offline for work and payments. Somehow, this platform has not been able to control them fully.

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can use this platform both as a worker (bidding for freelance projects) and an employer (offering work to freelancers). It is the world's largest platform to bring like-minded people together and earn a living.

 ### 4. Account Blocked Mid-Portfoliod With No Clear Reason or Support Response

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Filipp K. | Founding Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

🚩 🚩🚩🚩 Ignored by the administration.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

🚩 🚩
My account was recently blocked whilst I was filling in a portfolio I was creating to showcase my work to potential clients, resulting in a permanent ban. It is unclear why such a large company cannot verify links at the initial stage of filling in the portfolio, leaving me with no opportunity to rectify the situation. I am an active developer with experience and qualifications

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Theoretically, Freelancer.com aims to solve the problem of global talent discovery and secure payments. They claim to bridge the gap between businesses and experts while providing a "trusted" environment for transactions.

 ### 5. Limited Opportunities with Subpar Pay on Freelancer.com

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven F. | Freelance Writer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

I like that Freelancer.com is a platform that can potentially act as a go-between for me and potential clients, which is helpful when finding clients is sometimes difficult. What I probably like most about Freelancer.com is that there are pretty much constantly new potential clients and jobs being listed.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

Freelancer.com hasn't worked as well for me as some other platforms like Upwork or Fiverr. The biggest issue is that the client's supposed jobs are looking for freelancers that cost as little as possible. If you're trying to make a living specifically through Freelancer.com, it's exceedingly difficult because the pay rates are normally very low. Additionally, the initial setup wasn't particularly easy due to a series of verification checks which seemed excessive.

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Freelancer.com as a go-between to connect with potential clients, which helps in finding new jobs as AI impacts the market. The platform frequently lists new potential clients and jobs, aiding in client acquisition.

 ### 6. Smooth Verified by Freelancer Process and a Platform That Supports Growth

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ayesha B. | Data Analyst and Scientist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

My experience with the Verified by Freelancer process was smooth, straightforward, and well organized. Russell V. was professional and responsive, and he provided clear guidance throughout the interview, which made everything easy to follow. The process moved along efficiently, and I received my verification badge shortly afterward.

What I appreciate about Freelancer.com overall is the access to a wide range of projects, the flexibility it offers, and the structured system that helps freelancers build credibility and grow over time. The platform creates real opportunities for professionals who take their work seriously and want to develop their presence.

Overall, it was a smooth verification experience, paired with a platform that genuinely supports freelancer growth.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

One thing I dislike about Freelancer.com is the mobile app: it can be slow to open, some links don’t load properly, and a few features are still only available on the website rather than in the app.

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, the biggest benefit is having access to a wide range of projects that align with my expertise. It makes it much faster and more efficient to find the right work, and it lets me focus on the projects where I can truly deliver value.

 ### 7. Efficient Platform for finding skillful candidates

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Viggo H. | Ejerleder, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

I use Freelancer.com both to find skillful candidates and to offer our services for small and medium-sized companies, mostly based in Europe and the United States. It's actually going very well for us. Freelancer.com has a process of verifying companies by asking detailed questions, which I think is a very good idea. I was interview by an employee (Anaiah) and she put a lot of effort into asking detailed questions in order to make sure that are are indeed serious company. I give a high five to Freelancer.com for that. I prefer Freelancer.com because you can very quickly get quotes and come in contact with all kinds of businesses around the world and skillful people. You get serious quotes and serious competence, and if you're in a phase where you need competencies quickly, Freelancer.com is the platform to go for. It's super easy and straightforward to use. Uploading a project and getting quoted is a matter of five minutes, and ten minutes later, you will have the first quote. It's also easy to offer quotes for our services. Plus, I use the mobile app a lot, which is convenient.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

Well, if you put up a project, you will still receive too many autogenerated offers. So you have to kind of spend some time to sort on serious, candidates, out of the pool. That's one thing. Secondly, there is a big range in prices, and it's always hard to actually figure out even if you check the reviews, if the price you are getting or you're giving yourself is fair. To be honest, some people spam you, basically, and you have to spend time on removing them from your chat, etcetera. There are a few aggressive companies or people out there who almost seem desperate.

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Freelancer.com to find skilled candidates and offer our services. It quickly connects me with businesses and talents worldwide. The platform ensures candidates are serious, though filtering through offers can be cumbersome. It provides economical solutions for competencies we lack.

 ### 8. Great Platform for Global Collaboration

**Reviewed by:** Mayank P. | Ass Vice President Projects and Operations Mgmt, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

I find Freelancer.com to be a very good platform where new ideas and professionals come together to exchange ideas and innovation. It's helped me work with lots of professionals across the world and learn new things. I also like how it solves finding work for me. The software is smooth, which I appreciate. I really enjoy the contest feature on the software as it allows me to compete with others and enhance my skills. The initial setup was very easy.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

I don't like that if someone sends a message directly in chat without my permission, Freelancer.com might deactivate my account without notifying me. This process should be handled more properly.

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Freelancer.com helps me find work easily and the contest feature lets me compete with others and enhance my skills.

 ### 9. Clear Interface, Trusted Verified Program, and Same-Day Badge Activation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dmytro K. | Software & Systems Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

Wide range of project categories and a clear interface for both sides. The Verified program adds credibility to profiles. My application was handled by Russell V. responsive, clear, and the badge was activated the same day after a quick video call.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

Competition on bids is very high, which often drives prices down

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It gives me access to a global pool of clients and projects without needing my own marketing channel. The Verified badge helps me stand out in a crowded marketplace and build trust faster with new clients, which translates into higher response rates on bids
