## Freelancer.com Reviews
  ### 1. A Powerful Platform for Freelance Growth and Global Opportunities

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kamran A. | Full Stack Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

What I like best about Freelancer.com is the wide range of opportunities available across different industries and skill levels. The platform makes it easy to connect with clients from around the world, build long‑term working relationships, and grow professionally. I also appreciate the secure payment system, transparent reviews, and competitive bidding process, which create a trustworthy and motivating environment for freelancers to showcase their skills and succeed.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

One downside of Freelancer.com is the high level of competition, which can sometimes drive prices down and make it challenging for skilled professionals to stand out. Additionally, service fees and bid limitations can feel restrictive, especially for new freelancers who are still building their profiles. However, with the right strategy and consistency, these challenges can be managed effectively.

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Freelancer.com solves the challenge of finding reliable clients and consistent work by connecting freelancers with businesses worldwide in one centralized platform. It reduces the time and effort needed for marketing, outreach, and payment management by providing secure contracts, milestone payments, and dispute resolution. For me, this means I can focus more on delivering high‑quality work and growing my skills instead of worrying about client acquisition or payment security. It also allows me to build a global portfolio and create long‑term professional relationships.

  ### 2. Freelancer.com: Easy Bidding, Great Contests, and a top Freelancing Platform

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Geetanjali P. | Senior Operations Analyst, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

Freelancer.com is one of the best platforms for freelancing on which I have worked. The best thing I find about it is that not only can you bid on various projects, but you can also participate in contests as well. These contests are available in various areas like designing, writing, etc. So, people who are experts in different areas can apply to these contests. They also offer an attractive amount for the winner. The other things, including the platform's navigation and bidding process, are simple and well-designed. Overall, it is one of my go-to freelancing sites.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

One thing that I dislike most about this site is that it has many fake projects. Unverified employers with no verified payment method initiate these projects. Many people bid on such projects, but they don't hear back because no freelancer is chosen. Freelancer.com can improve on the verification of employers as well in addition to the verification of freelancers. There are many verification which needs to be completed by a freelancer working on the app, but for employers, these verification rules are not as stringent. This is one aspect that needs to be improved on the app.

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work on Freelancer.com to earn extra income from freelancing projects. The work was delegated by those employers and payment milestones was made every week. The platform has many amazing projects in various areas, such as programming, creative writing, and graphic design, to bid on. The payment terms and process are simple. I find the Milestone payment system the best on this platform as it provides security to both the employer and the freelancer. The employer binds an amount under this system, which would be released when the freelancer provides the work up to their requirements. Freelancer.com has helped me in gaining real-world skills, along with strengthening my expertise, and has helped me make a decent amount of income.

  ### 3. Great Platform for Freelancers, but Highly Competitive

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Suraj K. | Support Engineer, Computer & Network Security, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

Freelancer.com provides a great platform to connect with clients from all over the world. I like the wide variety of projects available, flexible working opportunities, and secure payment system. It helps freelancers grow their skills, build a strong portfolio, and earn independently while working from anywhere.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

One thing I don’t like about Freelancer.com is how tough it can be for new freelancers to get started because of the high competition. It often feels like you have to bid very low just to win your first few projects. The service fees are also a bit high, which cuts into earnings. Sometimes there are low-quality or unclear job postings, and dealing with clients who have unrealistic expectations can be challenging.

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Freelancer.com solves the problem of finding clients and work opportunities in one place. Instead of searching for projects manually or relying on personal contacts, I can easily connect with clients from different countries. It benefits me by giving me a steady flow of opportunities, helping me earn independently, and allowing me to work remotely. It also helps me build my portfolio and gain experience across different types of projects.

  ### 4. Steady Stream of Projects with Secure Milestone Payments

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Divya P. | Freelancer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

This platform offers constant flow of new projects from different clients in various job categories. For beginners, you can sign up and bid for free. They also have a secure payment system called milestone payments where clients set aside funds before work begins. This is really a great support for remote workers.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

Because of its massive user base, there are a lot of fake clients, and intense bidding wars often lead to a drop in project prices. This makes it difficult to bid on projects, especially since new users only receive a limited number of bids (6 free bids) upon sign-up.

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

This platform uses automatic desktop time-trackers which guarantee hourly remote workers like me to get paid accurately. There is also open contests that is easy to apply and bid without any judgement.

  ### 5. Smooth, Professional Freelancer Verification Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** IBRAHIM A. | Full-stack Developer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

I had a very positive experience during the Freelancer verification interview. The process was smooth, professional, and well-organized from start to finish. The interviewer was respectful, clear in communication, and made the entire interaction comfortable and easy to follow.

All questions were relevant and fairly asked, allowing me to properly present my skills and experience. I especially appreciated the friendly attitude and professional approach, which reflects well on the platform’s standards.

Overall, it was a great experience, and I’m satisfied with how the verification process was conducted. Highly appreciated.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

One thing that could be improved on Freelancer.com is the dispute resolution process, as it can sometimes feel slow and not fully transparent for freelancers. Additionally, the platform fees and bidding competition can be quite high, especially for new freelancers trying to establish themselves.

Improving communication speed, fairness in disputes, and offering better support for new freelancers would make the overall experience even better.

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Freelancer.com solves the problem of connecting skilled professionals with clients from all over the world in a secure and structured environment. It provides a centralized platform where freelancers can find work, showcase their skills, and build long-term client relationships without needing their own marketing channels.

For me, it has been highly beneficial as it allows me to consistently find projects, grow my income, and work with international clients. The platform also ensures secure payments through milestone protection, which builds trust and reduces risk. Overall, it has helped me scale my freelance career and expand my professional reach globally.

  ### 6. Freelancer.com Makes Global Collaboration Easy and Secure

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Volha S. | Head of Cooperation with Southeast Asian Countries, China and Russia, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

What I like best about Freelancer.com is the opportunity to connect with clients and professionals from all over the world. The platform offers a wide variety of projects across many industries, making it easier to find work that matches my skills and experience. I also appreciate the verification and security features, which help build trust between freelancers and clients. The platform's communication and project management tools make collaboration straightforward and efficient, helping projects run smoothly from start to finish.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

One area that could be improved is customer support response times in some situations. Additionally, the competition for projects can be quite high, especially in popular categories, which may make it challenging for new freelancers to get started. Some platform fees and premium features can also be a consideration for freelancers who are just beginning their careers. However, these challenges are common on large freelance marketplaces.

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Freelancer.com solves the problem of connecting businesses and independent professionals from around the world in one secure marketplace. It helps clients find qualified talent quickly while giving freelancers access to projects they might not otherwise discover. For me, the platform provides opportunities to work with international clients, expand my professional network, and build a strong portfolio. The secure payment system, verification processes, and project management tools make it easier to collaborate with confidence and focus on delivering quality work.

  ### 7. Wide Range of Projects, Easy Bidding, and Responsive Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Raj K. | Freelance, Translation and Localization, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

It offers a wide range of projects to choose from, allowing you to start earning after your bid is accepted. If you possess a skill, you will undoubtedly find numerous projects to work on. The bidding process is straightforward, and the chat option gives you the opportunity to showcase and discuss your plus-points.
The customer support is very useful, and they respond quickly. Even with the free version, you can use it to bid for a decent number of projects. The paid version helps target selling your best skills. There are contests for you to compete in. You can also use the Android or Apple app for on-the-go bidding and managing your stuff.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

Sometimes, despite submitting excellent bids, you may not get the project. You've got to be consistent in finding and bidding for work, which may be stressful and time-consuming for some people.
You may also come across some fraudsters who may not pay for your work or coerce you to go offline for work and payments. Somehow, this platform has not been able to control them fully.

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

You can use this platform both as a worker (bidding for freelance projects) and an employer (offering work to freelancers). It is the world's largest platform to bring like-minded people together and earn a living.

  ### 8. Account Blocked Mid-Portfoliod With No Clear Reason or Support Response

**Rating:** 0.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Filipp K. | Founding Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 09, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

🚩 🚩🚩🚩 Ignored by the administration.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

🚩 🚩
My account was recently blocked whilst I was filling in a portfolio I was creating to showcase my work to potential clients, resulting in a permanent ban. It is unclear why such a large company cannot verify links at the initial stage of filling in the portfolio, leaving me with no opportunity to rectify the situation. I am an active developer with experience and qualifications

My attempts to rectify the situation were ignored by the administration

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Theoretically, Freelancer.com aims to solve the problem of global talent discovery and secure payments. They claim to bridge the gap between businesses and experts while providing a "trusted" environment for transactions.

  ### 9. Great for Finding Global Clients but Tough Competition

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeram T. | Senior Full Stack developer , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

I like that Freelancer.com gives me access to a wide variety of projects from clients around the world, all in one place. It helps me find and connect with clients worldwide, ensuring a steady flow of projects without spending too much time on business development. The initial setup was straightforward and easy — creating a profile and listing my skills took only a few minutes.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

The bidding competition can be overwhelming, and it's hard to stand out early on without an established reputation on the platform. A better skill-based matching system that surfaces relevant projects to freelancers automatically would help a lot, so I spend less time browsing and bidding and more time doing actual work.

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Freelancer.com helps me find and connect with clients worldwide, maintaining a steady flow of projects without too much effort on business development.

  ### 10. Limited Opportunities with Subpar Pay on Freelancer.com

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Steven F. | Freelance Writer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Freelancer.com?**

I like that Freelancer.com is a platform that can potentially act as a go-between for me and potential clients, which is helpful when finding clients is sometimes difficult. What I probably like most about Freelancer.com is that there are pretty much constantly new potential clients and jobs being listed.

**What do you dislike about Freelancer.com?**

Freelancer.com hasn't worked as well for me as some other platforms like Upwork or Fiverr. The biggest issue is that the client's supposed jobs are looking for freelancers that cost as little as possible. If you're trying to make a living specifically through Freelancer.com, it's exceedingly difficult because the pay rates are normally very low. Additionally, the initial setup wasn't particularly easy due to a series of verification checks which seemed excessive.

**What problems is Freelancer.com solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Freelancer.com as a go-between to connect with potential clients, which helps in finding new jobs as AI impacts the market. The platform frequently lists new potential clients and jobs, aiding in client acquisition.
