What do you like best about Fincent?

The bookkeeping is accurate and mostly hands-off, but there are real people behind it when I have a question. Most months it's just a quick categorization check and I'm done. The reports are clean enough that my CPA needs nothing extra from me, which saves me real time and stress at tax season. And the fact that it catches errors like duplicate charges has paid for itself. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Fincent?

I wish the dashboard items were clickable. Right now I can see recent transactions or subscriptions on the main view, but I have to navigate away to actually open them.

Invoicing is the big one. It only supports single-line invoices with no auto-incrementing invoice numbers, so I still run my invoicing through a separate tool (Harpoon). Multi-line itemized invoices would let me bring that in-house.

I'd also love a revenue goal graph, something that tracks payables and receivables against an annual target the way Harpoon does.

Recommendations to others considering Fincent:

If you're a small business owner who's tired of dreading your books, Fincent is worth a serious look. I've been with them about three years, and the difference shows up where it matters most: my CPA called my books the best she's ever seen, and my last tax filing took nothing more than handing over a profit and loss statement.

A few tips if you sign up:

- Lean into the cleanup year. My first year was about getting everything tidied up, and that groundwork is what makes everything since feel effortless.

- Let it catch your mistakes. It flagged a duplicate Adobe charge for me that I'd have missed, and I got the refund because of it.

- Know your workflow first. If you need heavy multi-line invoicing today, you may still want a separate tool for now, though 2.0 is bringing big upgrades there.

Bottom line: if you want accurate, low-maintenance bookkeeping with real people behind it and reports clean enough to keep your CPA happy, I'd recommend giving Fincent a try. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Fincent solving and how is that benefiting you?

Fincent took my bookkeeping from a mess to genuinely clean. The first year was a cleanup year, and since then my books have been in the best shape they've ever been. My CPA actually told me they were "the best I've ever seen them." Tax time used to be a stressful back-and-forth. This past year my CPA only needed my profit and loss statement, asked zero follow-up questions, and we were done. I don't even pull QuickBooks data anymore because the Fincent reports cover everything.

It also catches things I'd miss. It flagged a double Adobe charge for me, which let me go get a refund I never would have noticed on my own. After about three years on the platform, the monthly rhythm is smooth and I trust the numbers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
