What do you like best about FileVault?

I like how it offers an extra layer of security, it's built-in, included with the computer, and free. When compared to the paid alternatives, there's really no reason to complain, so long as Apple doesn't cheapen out their products any further. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about FileVault?

Apple used to be known for having great products, and reliable computers. However, since Tim Cook took over, and Steve Job's tragic passing, Apple has gone downhill. I really wish I didn't have to use this app, but even the moderate security it provides, helps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering FileVault:

It helps. Not as good as it used to be (when Steve Jobs was running the company and calling the shots), but better than nothing. In other words, it's satisfactory. For being free, it's hard to argue. I hope it doesn't get lower in quality (cost cutting). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is FileVault solving and how is that benefiting you?

Computer security - on the cheaper platforms Tim Cook is releasing. Consequently, I'm noticing fewer (if any) computer-security related threats. Then again, Apple (used) to build highly robust computers and software built off the unix platform. Now-a-days, with Tim Cook and his cheap ways, software like this is definitely recommended.
