EZO evolved from a localized tool for tracking our IT hardware into a central nervous system for our entire operation. Its flexibility allowed us to replace an antiquated MP2 system in our parts room, standardize office supply management, and build a unified ordering hub for marketing materials. The API capabilities are exceptional; we integrated EZO with Nintex Workflow Cloud and our primary VIP system to automate equipment deployment. By duplicating our customer database so that clients exist as both a "Member" and a physical "Location," we built a fail-safe chain of custody. When we check an asset in from a customer member, it triggers a triage setting that automatically dispatches a retrieval work order to physically return the machine to our Marion HQ warehouse. The ability to set hard deployment rules—like ensuring an asset is listed as "available" and located at HQ before it can be assigned—eliminates routing errors entirely. Integrating third-party route management platforms still requires manual intervention out of the box. Currently, our service calls are exported from EZO and imported into Route4Me via a text-based process. We are actively building a phase two integration to automate this so work orders queue and manifest directly, but native API tie-ins for external routing or telematics platforms could be more robust.
