As a former tutor at the University of Pretoria, what I appreciate most about ExamGrader.ai is how it understands the meaning behind essay answers instead of just matching keywords. Grading large groups of students meant I often struggled to keep feedback consistent and timely, and this tool directly solves that by analyzing the logic and reasoning behind a student's response rather than just scanning for surface-level answers. The biggest issue I have with ExamGrader.ai is that it can grade inconsistently, especially on extreme answers. Research on similar tools shows that AI tends to grade "around the median" and struggles with very good or very poor student answers — it avoids giving out top scores even when a human expert would, and it's not harsh enough on bad answers either. That's a real problem for a tutor, because students who wrote genuinely excellent essays might feel penalized, while struggling students could get a false sense of confidence from an inflated score.
