What do you like best about ESET PROTECT?

It has a clean, user-friendly design that makes fleet diagnostics straightforward and lets me navigate policy settings easily, even on the busiest workdays. Connecting the agents to our existing directory service and logging stack was also simple, with no need to handle the integration manually. What impressed me most is the system performance: even when our computers are running at full capacity under heavy loads, the background scanning is essentially unnoticeable and doesn’t impact CPU or slow down memory usage. On top of that, their tech support team supported us throughout implementation and responded to our questions quickly. Overall, the savings from avoiding unexpected system downtime and reducing time wasted on manual system administration have definitely been worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about ESET PROTECT?

Setting up granular inheritance rules across dynamic device groups can feel somewhat inflexible, and the user interface requires multiple clicks to finish configuring custom policy overrides. Although the reporting functionality is extensive, it’s still fairly difficult to make adjustments before a report becomes clear and ready to review. Also, while the automatic threat detection and heuristic models are highly advanced, it took me some time to tune them so they stayed quiet and didn’t trigger false alarms when running custom analysis scripts. What problems is ESET PROTECT solving and how is that benefiting you?

Before deploying ESET PROTECT, our security measures were scattered across isolated environments. That setup forced us to spend countless hours auditing alerts, applying unrelated patches, and tracking down background scripts.

With this platform, we’ve been able to bring everything together in a single, straightforward dashboard. Now, checking system health and pushing patches takes only a couple of mouse clicks. Integrating it with our central user directory and our event log pipeline took virtually no effort and felt completely natural within our existing workflow. The platform’s smart behavioral detection quietly catches malicious payloads and network anomalies, stopping them from running without flooding us with false alarms.

Even though it runs constant, resource-intensive processes, the local agent stays highly efficient with almost no noticeable system overhead. When we ran into a few edge-case challenges while configuring the policy group, the technical support experts helped us resolve the issue right away.
