Prior to implementing COMPStream, all of our complex, global comp planning budget modeling and analyses were handled in Excel spreadsheets using data exported from our SF Compensation and Eligible Earnings templates. It required a lot of manual manipulation and complex formulas, and each time data was updated in SF, we’d have to redo much of those analyses manually.

We use COMPStream to do compensation budget modeling to present data to our President & CEO using various breakouts and analyses of the data. We use it to assign dynamic budgets to the compensation planners during the review process, so they can accurately see where they stand in terms of budget versus total recommendations made while they are doing their planning. We also use it to reconcile the budgeted amount in aggregate and by any number of breakouts (senior leaders, division, budget groups, etc.) versus actual spend which can now be accomplished virtually in real time as final recommendations are being approved. This year our comp administrators will begin using the calibration capabilities in the budget preparation cycle and at least two of our divisions may use it during the actual planning cycle.
