I'm a PMO professional and what I like about edison365 is that it's Scalable and Flexible enough to support different PMO, Project and Portfolio management models.
I’ve worked with projects, PMOs and transformation environments in different organisations, and the governance models and level of maturity can vary quite a lot. edison365 can be configured around those needs instead of making the organisation adapt everything to the tool.
For me the connection between strategy, portfolio decisions and actual project delivery, is very useful as well. Project operations value and impact depend on these things. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The flexibility does mean that you need to know what you want from it.
I wouldn’t start by configuring the technology. I would first look at how the organisation wants to manage its portfolio: what decisions need to be made, who makes them, what information is really needed and what the PMO should actually be responsible for. The upside is, this forces you to reflect on the maturity of your processes.
Otherwise, it’s quite easy to take existing processes and simply reproduce them in a new system. That is not really a technology problem, but it is something I think organisations should consider when implementing a configurable PPM platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
