DrChrono was groundbreaking when it first came out, featuring an iOS mobile app to chart and send prescriptions from your iPad or iPhone. This saves me so much time and is the main reason I can't leave this product. Many years later while other EHRs have come out with new iOS apps, DrChrono continues to be the most robust and efficient option. Most of the built-in practice management features are outdated and clunky but if you use other software for scheduling and patient engagement, DrChrono offers you best-in-class, lightning-fast charting and medication management for iOS. The problem I have is that DrChrono has done very little to modernize their product. Since being taken over by Updox, there have been minor improvements to some features that not everybody would benefit from. But very little improvement has been made to the overall product. The telemedicine option is a waste of time with so many simpler options on the market, plus they charge extra for those visits, which might have been okay 10 years ago. There are frequent backend issues such as slowness and brief outages on a weekly basis. The OnPatient patient portal is outdated and quite boring and the built-in scheduling system is old and tedious, creating a lackluster patient experience. OnPatient seems to get zero attention from DrChrono, with not a single UI or feature update since launch. For all of these reasons, I avoid all of the practice management and patient engagement features and use DrChrono solely as an EHR. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
