Switching to Draftsight has allowed us to massively reduce software expense while increasing performance. The robust API allows us to use DraftSight to build an intelligent system to automatically create control box drawings and schematics without having to burden a drafter. The cost is about 10% of the legacy software it is replacing. When manual interventions are required, the UI is extremely familiar to anyone who has used standard 2D CAD platforms like AutoCAD. This also comes with support from the same company as our 3D platform SolidWorks so it consolidated support to have less points of contact. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish they would bring back the free tier instead of only having the subscription model. It can also be surprisingly memory intensive for a 2D program so we have to account for restarts in our automation tools. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
