We completed the migration in under one month, which is exceptional for this kind of system. The OCR quality is strong: field recognition and mapping work very reliably, especially for structured documents like invoices. A particularly useful feature is the ability to validate and map extracted data against master data tables. Another big plus is the automatically available test environment, which integrates perfectly into a staging setup and makes development and validation much easier. Within a matter of days, we had models trained to our specific requirements and outputs generated that could be easily input into our internal systems. The team have been first class when it comes to dealing with any tweaking of any of the models as and when we have come up against edge cases. The technology in and of itself - takes some time to get set-up (as do most things worth having), but once it's up and running then it works a charm. It has cut down the time it takes us to do manual data extraction by probably 80-90%, even when including human sample checks of the output data 2. The team - Raghu and the rest of the team have been wonderful. They're one of the most proactive, friendly and knowledgeable teams I've had the pleasure of working with (and I've onboarded a lot of tools during my time at Pento). You never feel like you're asking for too much from them (and trust me, I've asked too much from them!!). Kudos to the team and the customer-centric stance you take on everything you do. **What do you dislike about Docsumo?** - Very little to dislike about the product; the only potential con is that implementation can potentially take a little longer than you might expect depending on the document types you have to set up (but once it's set up, it's the dream). If you have very straightforward documents and everything follows the same format this wont be an issue; but if you have a lot of variance from doc to doc (in our case we are processing different all sorts of different payslips for example), it can take a bit of time to get the models trained correctly. Again however, the team is excellent and will help do this all for you if you can put enough time aside to give them enough concrete examples of what annotations should look like. **What problems is Docsumo solving and how is that benefiting you?** We use Docsumo to help with onboarding customers. Over 2000 invoices a month are now handled automatically thanks to Docsumo extracting accurately and consistently the data we require. 2. The Docsumo team is responsive, responding to our issues and questions when they arise. 3. Uploading documents through a provided Python client library reduces time on development. That being said like any tool, it depends on the complexity of your problem. Docsumo took our problem, which is relatively complex due to variations from the same vendor sending different types of invoices, and managed to set up a system that works for us. This makes it a little hard to follow what they're trying to get across and requires them to repeat themselves. Additionally, we have a variety of invoices from across our properties that need to be parsed. Unfortunately, because of the vast amount of variety in our invoices, Docsumo's systems can get mixed up occasionally when trying to extract data. I imagine this is a problem more unique to us, as we do have a wide variety of invoices. NOTE: Docsumo does wonderfully more often than not and we have someone who goes in to fix any misattributed invoices manually so it's more a minor inconvenience. **What problems is Docsumo solving and how is that benefiting you?** Because of the volume of invoices we deal with, it became necessary for us to extract relevant information from them in order to formulate meaningful insights.
