What do you like best about Distances for Spreadsheets?

It's easy to use, especially if you don't want to implement/integrate a permanent solution into your system architecture. In addition to place names, the tool also processes postcodes and can therefore calculate the distance between any two locations, provided they are spelled correctly. It can account for three modes of transport: air, sea and road.

The service is very affordable, In particular, as only processable data records are counted, and duplicates are counted only once.

What do you dislike about Distances for Spreadsheets?

The classification for data records which can't be processed could be better, more detailed. But the developer already mentioned that he is working on that topic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Distances for Spreadsheets solving and how is that benefiting you?

For the carbon footprint assessment, we needed the distances for deliveries that could not be assessed on a spend-based basis. As we did not have much development time or resources available, we looked for a simple online service capable of processing Excel and flat files at reasonable rates. The tool was the solution.
