What do you like best about dbForge Data Generator for SQL Server?

We are generating datasets for a project where real data is very difficult to get. This tool is a charm to use and is very usable. Distributions and constraints between attributes of one table are easily defined. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about dbForge Data Generator for SQL Server?

There are still limitations in handling logical constraints across tables when synthesizing datasets. One workaround we are using is to synthesize data for composite tables and then populate the individual tables from that information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is dbForge Data Generator for SQL Server solving and how is that benefiting you?

We are synthesizing data for a dashboard prototype related to social housing, where real data is currently difficult to get because of privacy legislation. The distributions we use come from national statistics and from local experts. The datasets we synthesize are also used to showcase the potential of predictive analytics based on different machine-learning statistics. This tool enables us to populate our data warehouse with synthetic but somewhat realistic data enabling PowerBI dashboards and Azure ML predictions to be showcased to stakeholders so a real system can be developed in the future.
