## Datadog Reviews
 ### 1. Datadog: Unified Logs, Metrics & Traces for Real-Time Visibility and Faster Debugging

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anshul S. | SDET, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

One of the biggest strengths of Datadog is how it brings logs, metrics, traces, and alerts into a single platform. Instead of switching between multiple monitoring tools, I can quickly identify what's happening across the entire application stack. Comprehensive dashboards that provide real-time visibility into application health. Powerful log search and filtering for faster root cause analysis. APM (Application Performance Monitoring) that helps identify performance bottlenecks. Intelligent alerting that notifies the team before issues significantly impact users. Seamless integrations with cloud services, databases, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure tools. In my QA and automation workflow, Datadog significantly reduces the time required to investigate production issues. Rather than relying solely on application logs, I can correlate metrics, traces, and logs to pinpoint the exact cause of a problem. This makes debugging much faster and improves collaboration between QA, developers, and DevOps teams. Overall, Datadog provides the visibility needed to proactively monitor systems, troubleshoot issues efficiently, and maintain application reliability.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Although Datadog is one of the most comprehensive monitoring tools I've used, there are a few areas where it could improve. Pricing can become expensive as the number of hosts, logs, and monitored services increases. The large number of features can make the platform overwhelming for new users. Building advanced dashboards and queries sometimes requires a learning curve. High log volumes need careful management to avoid unnecessary costs. Some alerts require fine-tuning to reduce noise and avoid alert fatigue. For me, the biggest challenge is cost management. As monitoring requirements grow, it's important to optimize log retention, dashboards, and alert configurations to keep expenses under control.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datadog solves the problem of limited visibility into application performance and infrastructure health. Instead of checking multiple tools for logs, metrics, traces, and alerts, Datadog centralizes everything into a single platform, making monitoring and troubleshooting much more efficient. Detects application and infrastructure issues in real time. Centralizes logs, metrics, traces, and performance data. Speeds up root cause analysis during production incidents. Provides proactive alerts before issues impact end users. Helps monitor APIs, servers, databases, and cloud services from one dashboard. I use Datadog to investigate production issues, validate deployments, monitor API health, and analyze application performance. Having all the relevant telemetry in one place helps me identify problems much faster and collaborate effectively with developers and DevOps teams. The biggest benefit is reduced incident resolution time. By quickly correlating logs, metrics, and traces, Datadog helps the team diagnose issues faster, minimize downtime, and deliver a more reliable experience for users.

 ### 2. Faster incident detection and root-cause analysis, leading to better customer experience.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Bertrand P. | Senior Product & Digital Transformation Leader, Retail, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

 ### 3. Unified Observability with Powerful Integrations and Fast Root Cause Analysis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ravindra N. | SDET - 2, Oil & Energy, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

The most impressive part of Datadog is how it bridges the gap between automated testing and production observability. The CI Visibility and Test Optimization features are standout; being able to trace every test execution within our pipelines allows for immediate identification of flaky tests and performance regressions before they ever reach a staging environment. The correlation between test failures and underlying infrastructure metrics or application traces is seamless, which drastically reduces the time spent on root cause analysis. Instead of just seeing a failed build, we can see exactly which service or database query caused the bottleneck during that specific test run. This level of granular, integrated data is essential for maintaining a high-quality codebase and a reliable release cycle.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

The primary challenge is the complexity of managing high-volume log ingestion and the associated costs, especially when running extensive automated test suites that generate significant data. Additionally, configuring complex multi-step Synthetic Monitoring tests can be time-consuming, and the web UI occasionally feels sluggish when navigating through large, data-heavy dashboards during critical debugging sessions.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datadog solves the problem of fragmented quality signals by providing a unified view of application health from development through production. It allows us to move from reactive bug fixing to a more proactive quality engineering approach. By using Synthetic Monitoring to simulate critical user journeys and Real User Monitoring (RUM) to validate actual performance, we can ensure that our quality gates are truly representative of the end-user experience. This integration helps us catch regressions early in the CI/CD pipeline, reducing production incidents and improving overall system stability. The benefit is a much more efficient feedback loop for our engineering teams, leading to faster, more confident deployments and a consistently high-performing application for our customers.

**Reviewed Date:** January 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Firstly, Its integration capabilities to Hosts (Windows/Linux/mac), Platforms (AWS, Azure which I use, plus GCP etc) and container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes) etc benefits alot of usecases as DD server as a one stop shop. We have support for multiple programming languages to easily publish logs to Datadog directly right form your application code, eliminating any fancy stuff.

We have very reliable feature slike smart health checks and automated test suites so we catch problems before they hit. On-call teams get instant alerts, incident triage, and even automated workflows for triage etc enhance teams to focus fixing issues quickly and stress-free with some readily available first hand information.

Dashboards with visualizations like line, bar, pie, and timeseries charts cater to different use cases—such as applications, infrastructure, and databases—making it easier to monitor performance. DD become an integral part of our daily operations, helping outquickly spot anomalies and simplifying the overall and managing workflows.

Its easy to setup/install/implement agent configuration (Pre designed Installation URL with installation script) doesnt take more than 5mins. Users can readily build dashboards in under 15 mins for prod grade setup. [ In general its just 5mins as publicised by Datadog].

DD do has great customer support but we rarely need that as most of the stuff has documentation and easy to setup or configure.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

In our current context,
As our infrastructure or application footprint grows, storage costs increase proportionally and can become a major expense. If we need to retain data for extended periods, expect those costs to rise even further (so storage necessity is the key).

Just like other platforms, Datadog also offers numerous integrations with third-party platforms like Slack, Microsoft Teams, and Jira. We leveraged on all these channels initially that lead to increased costs, as each integration added complexity and resource usage along with increase complexity implementing them. We had to strip someof them to manage cost and purpose of applications at different environment levels.

There are so many options for same purpose but without proper guidance or complete understanding of that usecase, we may en dup implement more than what is required. So purpose is key here.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. Datadog is helping us providing the complete picture of problem with some initial details and by giving us a single platform to monitor 50+ microservices across 40+ AWS accounts, so nothing slips through the cracks. we have some first hand information based on automation or test suits logs, we know where to check, leading to less turn around time.

2. It tackles incident management/response challenges with real-time alerts, on-call integration, and automated triage, identifying similar patterns, notes around the service and resolution documents helping us fix issues before they impact customers at large extend. Its integration to different platforms we manage (almost all) is really a value add.

3. Built-in health checks and test suites keep our systems in shape, while integrations with AWS, PagerDuty, Slack, and more make the whole workflow smooth and connected. Datadog eliminates tool silos and creates a smooth workflow for monitoring and incident resolution.

4. From service-level segregation to rich dashboards, Datadog turns most of our log data into simple insights for engineers and execs alike. Different dashboards at low level and higher level made our life easy from monitoring to presenting the data to higher-ups.

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Simplicity. Lots of effort into the AI. Huge amount of integrations.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

I have no complaints. I with cost spikes could be monitored automatically other than create your oun set of monitors.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mostly organizing different sources in one place

 ### 24. Highly Reliable Observability Tooling for Applications

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor S. | Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Datadog has a multitude of useful features and integrations for our applications, from metrics and monitoring, to dashboards and cost optimization.

Our dedicated support team is readily available to assist us in adoption of any new features and tools for our applications.

Many of the monitoring and observability tools offered by the platform are easily integrated into our applications, especially those migrated to Kubernetes.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Some features are not as easily navigable and intuitive as one would hope; fortunately, our dedicated DataDog team is receptive to such feedback and always offers alternative solutions.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datadog solves many of our issues around aggregated metrics and logging, as well as the ability to trace our data completely through the system (whether that is through using native Datadog log tracing, or "in-house" log tracing).

Many of our apps are deployed on Kubernetes, and Datadog provides many useful out-of-the-box features that the team can use.

 ### 25. Very powerful platform but can be overwhelming

 ### 26. Datadog's easy to use UI and simple setup streamlined our monitoring stack.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David G. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 21, 2024

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

The UI is incredibly easy to work with. Creating widgets and dashboards is straightforward, with a wide range of tools at your disposal, plenty of templates and excellent documentation. We were able to prototype and iterate on our dashboards incredibly quickly and even complex visualisations were simple to setup.

We chose Datadog to quickly spin up a centralised monitoring stack capable of sharing our metrics with our external partners. Datadog made it very easy to implement this, with a straightforward agent install and pre-built integrations with many of our existing tools (NGINX, Kubernetes, etc). Once we had metrics consumed from our agents, we were then able to share our metrics with our external partners very easy, managing this process with ease. Datadog is now a central part of both our internal and external monitoring, as such it is used on an hourly basis by everyone from heads of department to engineers to support staff - each with a specific dashboard suited to their needs. Datadog's customisability and adaptability is simply great.

One of the things I have been most impressed with has been Datadog's support team. Through the UI, it is very easy to speak to customer support and the process is streamlined and effective. I have made use of this frequently both when seeking guidance on additional features and searching for support with an unplanned outage.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

The pricing model can be hard to understand, particularly when dealing with custom metrics which can be hard to account for with their varied labels/tags. It would be great to get some kind of quote calculator so we can figure out how much a change is going to cost us before we implement it. Similarly, the rolling windows within which things are calculated can make assessing cost, on anything less than a month-to-month basis, difficult.

The access control for shared, external dashbaords could be improved. Currently, the Magic Link process does not give user-based access control.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Previously, our metrics were split across a range of different services and sharing these externally with customers was complex. Datadog allowed us to centralise everything into a single system, massively reducing complexity and enabling us to give our customers oversight of the product they are paying for. Additionally, this has streamlined our internal monitoring process as well.

 ### 27. It does what it needs to do

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Education Management | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Their adaptability. At oine point they didn't have open telemetry options for the product, but then eventually added it on a year or two later

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Pricing lol. It can get pretty heavy handed. Also support hasn't been the best compared to other products i've used in the past.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Network and pod health. Alerting. Easy integrations. I do like the terraform provider

 ### 28. One of the best centralized monitoring tools, easy to implement.

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Antonio G. | Especialista Tecnico de Infraestructura Senior, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 17, 2023

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

I like the interface and the fact that DataDog continues to add new integrations, they support all major platforms, it is a great tool for DevOps/SRE, as well as for product engineering teams. Our team uses a number of DD features, we have invested heavily in dashboards and monitors, we have DD integrated with Slack and Pager Duty and it is a main source of notifications that drives actions within our Operations team. Datadog has many integrations for almost everything, it is easy to use if you want to set up the integration, especially for AWS and Kubernetes, it allows you to start monitoring your cloud infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

I would like DataDog to have better Kubernetes metrics, the alert tools do not effectively handle pod terminations or scaling events. I would also like to have more advanced Kubernetes metrics, improved IaC options to configure DataDog. A bit more locked in lately, dd-trace is gaining a great monopoly on reliably collecting everything (traces, profiles, and now, Security (ASM)), I wish there were an open standard for that, or that you would release an open standard.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have full visibility of the running service and the infrastructure, we use logs/tracing for historical tracking to identify new issues and overall health. Our current implementation of DD is mainly focused on monitoring and alerting for production software and critical systems in our infrastructure. With DataDog, we have an all-in-one tracking tool, especially the centralized logging that we use to analyze failures and errors in our application. It makes it easier for us to filter specific logs, on the other hand, infrastructure monitoring makes the cloud engineer's life easier.

 ### 29. Datadog is perfect solution for observability and alerts

Integrations with azure services and create alerts and sent to slack

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

I did not found much tutorials online and also documentation is bit confusing some times

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For alerting any issues in the service and alos monitoring system uptime.

It is helping us to resolve problems as soon as their occur.

It will also reduces setting our own infrastructure and maintaining

 ### 30. With Datadog we achieve the centralized solution for monitoring and scalability are a piece of cake

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Retail | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2024

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

It can monitor most api calls and provide relevant analytics. It also alerts when there is a down situation that we need to attend to right away. For us it prevents situations from going downhill so we can address before that happens.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Our company needs more opportunities to use the software.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mulesoft monitoring
Integrations to cloud do not require difficult to maintain custom solutions.

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

So many integrations all in one place, Datadog allows you to see everything and anywhere.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

The pricing is a bit hard to take, since you have to convice those with pursestrings that it is about value and not cost.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides confidence that I'm seeing the full picture.

 ### 33. Overall an amazing and complete product

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Publishing | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 25, 2024

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

I like that almost everything is possible, if it does not come out of the box, it is possible to do your own custom checks or integrations.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Agent installer is slow and heavy. Slow on updating the agent installer in matter of security patches.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Overall a complete package

 ### 34. Great correlation between metrics, logs, RUM

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

 ### 36. Datadog aka DD for monitoring systems at scale

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amit K. | Software architect, Computer Software, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 07, 2023

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

So many Out of the box integrations which makes monitoring almost your entire tech stack is super fast easy and easy.
For example, earlier I was part of the search team and was managing 25+ large Elasticsearch clusters and Elasticsearch as a software has its own specialized metrics which we need to monitor and get alerted.
We didn't have to do anything with Datadog(DD) as Datadog already had a Out of the box integration with Elasticsearch and documentation for same can be easily found on google for ex: https://docs.datadoghq.com/integrations/elastic/?tab=host
This made our life super easy as we can just start monitoring large system without much configuration.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Out of the box integrations are good but when you need to add more metrics which are not available, it requires a effort and sometime their documents can be confusing and outdated esp. with Out of the box integration where that software is changing rapidly.
Second it can be costly if you need to monitor large systems and is tight on the budget.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

building end to end observability platform and it helps software companies to build and run software with insights and confidence.

 ### 37. Platform for monitoring and analytics features in real-time

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Patrícia P. | QA Automation Engineer, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Datadog is a widespread cloud-based monitoring and analytics platform that provides real-time visibility into the performance of applications, infrastructure, and logs. Some key benefits of using Datadog include the following: it allows users to collect and correlate data from various sources, sends alerts based on user-defined thresholds, provides customizable dashboards that enable users to visualize data and gain insights into the health and performance of their systems, and supports a wide range of integrations (such as AWS, Docker and Kubernetes).

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

The learning curve for Datadog can be steep, especially for those new to monitoring and analytics. Additionally, the pricing is relatively high compared to other similar tools.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datadog provides real-time monitoring and alerting for various system components, including servers, applications, databases, and networks. This helps users quickly detect and troubleshoot issues, improving their systems' overall health and performance. Also, Datadog allows multiple teams to collaborate and share data, making troubleshooting issues and identifying trends across various system components easier.

 ### 38. Much more than just logging

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shaul A. | VP Projects, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 11, 2022

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

I was impressed with the integrations part of DataDog.
Our main goal was to centralize activity and audit logs of critical systems in our organization.
We were able to integrate most of our systems in a matter of hours:
JumpCloud, Gsuite, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Auth0 and more.
The instructions were easy to follow, and an integration usually takes only a few minutes.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Log parsing could be improved.
The logging format is not standard across machines when you have multiple devices with different OS.
If you want standardization, you must set up pipelines to ingest and parse the logs, which I found a bit tedious.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our motivation for choosing DataDog was security and compliance.
We are using DataDog as our Siem: our logs are centralized, we keep track of our IS KPIs, and we set up monitoring and alerts as needed.

 ### 39. Powerful and comprehensive monitoring platform

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rakesh N. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 09, 2023

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

1. Comprehensive Monitoring
2. Easy to Use
3. Powerful Analytics
4. Integrations
5.Customizable Alerts

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Steep Learning Curve: While the platform is generally easy to use, the learning curve for more advanced features is steep.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datadog also helps our organisation optimise services performance by providing real-time visibility into application performance and infrastructure metrics. This allows our teams to quickly identify and resolve performance issues, improving the user experience and minimising business impact.

 ### 40. much more than what is seen

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** James D. | CEO, Management Consulting, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

It has a number of integrations that make it easy to work with.
its use tools are powerful in market monitoring
Constant monitoring allows us to have control of all our services
their customer service is very professional when required of them

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

A very professional quality of service has been maintained where I have not had any problem that is not resolved quickly and in a timely manner.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Supervision from the cloud makes it possible to have perfect monitoring that everything is going well and that all the work is going correctly from the datadog facility

 ### 41. Powerful but huge learning curve

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Susannah G. | Engineering Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2023

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Datadog is extremely powerful and has extensive documentation. Some of the UI is very user-friendly. The customer service has been incredibly helpful with setup, integrations, and troubleshooting.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Datadog is so large that to new users it can be overwhelming. At times it felt that even to read documentation or do setup you already needed to be an expert. I still don't quite have a hand on the query language for creating metrics; I tend to reverse engineer those from dashboards.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

More extensive observability with tracing, and the ability to consolidate all of our monitors into one service instead of having them scattered through other services.

 ### 42. Pretty good out of the box solution, but it comes with a price.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Lots of out of the box integrations, overall good usability. Cover a big range of necessary observability for your applications and all integrated in one platform.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Pricing is pretty high (you pay more to monitor a small k8s ec2 node than the ec2 itself), and I found it hard to pick what you want to measure using Kubernetes integration granularly. Sometimes it is hard to understand how your billing is calculated, and it also charges you multiple times for "same stuff" since it cannot automatically detect integrations. (Ex.: you are charged for AWS node monitoring + k8s node monitoring of the same ec2 instance!). Didn`t like the commercial support either; they only care until they sell it to you.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Observability and traceability of cloud microservices. With its comprehensive set of tools and integrations, it enables end-to-end monitoring of your stack.

 ### 43. Datadog is an Awesome tool to monitor and analyze your logs, metrics in graphical format.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** ganesh P. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 08, 2023

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

They have the best UI/Interface to build dashboards and compare data metrics with each other.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

They are not up to the mark when it comes to 3rd party integrations.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are solving all the problems regarding monitoring our cloud environment and helping us to arrive at concurrent decisions in a faster way.

 ### 44. Datadog is a great tool for multi-environment log aggregation

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 02, 2022

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Grat User Interface (UI), easy to set up and configure, and plenty of integrations with cloud and on-prem solutions. Granular control over the ingested data. Flexible licensing scheme.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Data normalization and unstructured log ingestion require time and effort. Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) is not available out of the box and requires a ticket to the Support team. Despite RBAC, access granularity is hard to achieve, especially in an organization with small Site Reliability Engineering teams.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datadog is excellent at dashboarding, alerts and notifications. Alerts can be sent to messaging tools like Slack, MS Teams, SMS as well as email. It is easy to set up and delegate to other team members. Compared to the competition, I think Datadog has the lowest Return Of Investment (ROI) score.

 ### 45. Great tool for application & infrastructure monitoring

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Shubham D. | Management Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

DataDog works as a excellent central resource to manage and monitor all our applications and infrastructure. The best thing about DataDog is that it's quite easy to use and user-friendly along with being a total value for money. Also, it has excellent support and learning resources to be utilized by everyone.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Some of the integrations and connections docs for setting up are outdated and not very to understand for anyone who is new. The process of setting it up will require you to get in touch with the support team several times. However, they are quite quick and happy to assist as and when needed.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The best benefit we've got is the real-time alert on issues of any kind which helps us manage the downtime and the errors. To ensure everything is working as intended, you have complete visibility of the apps. Also, it has great visualizations to be used within the platform.

 ### 46. Best centralized monitoring tool for everything

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Anatolij N. | DevOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 19, 2022

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Datadog has many integrations for almost everything. It's easy to use if you want to configure the integration. Especially for AWS and Kubernetes, it allows you to start to monitor your cloud infrastructure.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Especially for a long time, the cost overview for Datadog usage was very intransparent. Maybe it will be easier with the new Cost Management feature of Datadog.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Datadog, we have all-in-one monitoring tool. Especially centralized logging we are using for analyzing the bugs and errors of our application. It makes us easier to filter specific logs. On the other side infrastructure monitoring makes the life of Cloud engineer easier

 ### 47. Full stack Monitoring

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** AT W. | Freelance DevOps Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 18, 2022

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

I like the interface and the fact that datadog continues to add new integrations. They support all the major platforms. It is a great tool for DevOps/SRE as well as product engineering teams

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

I would like to have datadog hand kubernetes metrics better. The alerting tools do not handle pod terminations or scaling events effectively. I would also like more advance kubernetes metrics. Improved iac options for configuring datadog

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Full visibility into the service running as well as the infrastructure. We use the logs / tracing for historical tracking to identify new issues and over all health

 ### 48. Great SaaS monitoring solution available in the market that supports several platforms

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nitish Chandu O. | Senior Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 16, 2022

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Datadog has so many integrations available, making it easy to use for AWS, Azure, GCP, On-prem, containers, serverless, and many more. The process to create monitors and dashboards is simple, helping the OPS team to implement the monitoring in quick time. The solution is excellent for application monitoring, as it supports monitoring using traces. Notification in Datadog is excellent as it integrates with Service-Now, Slack bringing immediate attention of the users.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

The support from Datadog is something I see to be improved, as they deal with tickets only on emails. The support team doesn't connect over calls for troubleshooting, and there is no proper escalating process causing a delay in fixing monitoring issues.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our team got more productive in terms of identifying and fixing issues upon leveraging Datadog as the monitoring tool for
- infrastructure services that include disk, CPU, memory, uptime, network IN, etc
- application metrics like service availability
- certificate expiries
- monitoring the log files with specific errors
- synthetics that helped us monitor the availability of application URLs

 ### 49. Great SaaS monitoring tool

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lakshit K. S. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 05, 2022

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

It is supported by every cloud solution with excellent integrations and documentation that is relatively easy and accurate.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

The price is a little bit high as seen from an individual or a startup perspective but it does its job amazingly, it's actually worth the money you spend.

**Recommendations to others considering Datadog:**

If you haven't applied any monitoring tool for your website or application, you must do this asap.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- Monitoring and keeping track of data in amazingly visualized forms such as graphs and tables are quite easy to understand and take action on it.
- Multiple applications can be configured on the same platform as it is quite easily accessible too.

 ### 50. Enterprise grade monitoring with Datadog

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Avinash U. | DevOps Engineer-I, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Having a single platform for monitoring all kinds of infrastructure is helpful. Datadog has excellent support and learning resources to get started with monitoring our application/infrastructure. There are integrations for almost all types of cloud or on-premise infrastructure and applications. The system is resilient with no issues in terms of performance or outages. The log management and tracing is very convenient using Datadog with features like retention, backup, formatting, and RBAC.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

The documentation for a few integrations is outdated and not always straightforward. You'll have to reach out to support quite a few times while setting it up. While creating new dashboards, it is not autosaved or even suggested for saving, which is a huge pain point if not known earlier.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We used Datadog for monitoring our infrastructure, logs, and traces, along with monitoring our real users through the UI. It has excellent features for an end to end monitoring once set up correctly and provides a holistic view of our entire infrastructure, helping us debug issues quickly.
