The UI integration with APM, session replay and UI analytics like LCP are very convenient. I enjoy the easy way of following user sessions on different environments and filter by devices. Dashboard creation is very intuitive. Implementing on a real project is very straight forward.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Sometimes its a bit tricky to match the UI logs with the BE information, mostly configuring and finding tracing has been a little challenging.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datadog is super useful for incident analysis and log checking. This allows applications to have a quick response to any problem that might appear on dev or production. I would say that analysis and optimization is an area that helps a lot.

Datadog's reliability and performance is unmatched which makes it an absolute recommendation.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Too many features/window are spread-out and could be consolidated/integrated better for easier UX.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a developer, DD has been my go to point to investigate any ongoing incidents or malfunctions in our services. The APM offer a great detailed view of the application performance and general health.

  ### 4. datadog

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Datadog provides a unified observability platform that’s incredibly easy to integrate across our stack. I especially appreciate how seamless it is to correlate logs, metrics, traces, and dashboards in one place—it reduces context switching and enables faster debugging and root cause analysis. The intuitive UI and out-of-the-box visualizations also make it accessible to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

While Datadog is powerful, the pricing can become difficult to manage as usage scales—especially with high-cardinality metrics or large log volumes. Additionally, some configuration options (like log pipelines and monitor tuning) can feel complex or unintuitive without deeper documentation or prior experience.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

At Sigma, Datadog helps us centralize observability across our microservices and data infrastructure, making it easier to monitor system health, trace performance bottlenecks, and proactively catch issues before they impact customers. It’s been especially useful during incident response and on-call rotations, where the ability to quickly pivot between logs, metrics, and traces significantly reduces our mean time to resolution.

  ### 5. One stop shop for all my observability

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Andrew P. | Software Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Love how it integrates all of our different software surfaces: mobile apps, databases, APIs, and internal tools. And there are always more features coming out.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

There are so many features! It can be hard to figure out exactly how to get the most out of it.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We're a lean software team and datadog helps me get to the root cause of customer issues quickly.

  ### 6. Decoding Chaos with Datadog

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ragini C. | Big Data Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

What impressed me most was how observability didn't feel like an afterthought. From the momentI integrated our service, I started discovering unknown bottlenecks without even setting custom alerts.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Switching between dashboards, logs, and monitor sometimes felt like context switching between apps. I wished there were more shortcuts stitch it together.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datadog helps us reduce our incident response time drastically connecting metrics, logs and traces in one place. We used to rely on multiple disconnected tools , now we catch issue earlier and more context.

  ### 7. Datadog: The best observability platform I've come across

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Leisure, Travel & Tourism | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

User-friendly dashboards, Comprehensive monitoring, Eady out of box integrations,Real time alerts and highly scalable for enterprise workloads

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Learning curve for a few features, the website may get janky and lag due to high volumes, slightly expensive

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have a modular architecture for our systems which means a lot of microservices and cloud native applications, datadog seamlessly provides end to end observability of all the distributed systems and troubleshooting is easier with datadog, it also helps identify performance bottlenecks and with real user monitoring the issues arr identified quickly.

  ### 8. Great experience

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tejas B. | Software Developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 31, 2025

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

I like how Datadog brings everything—logs, metrics, and traces—into one place. It makes spotting and fixing issues really simple.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

It can be a bit complex to set up and tune initially.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datadog helps solve the problem of not having full visibility into how applications are performing across services and infrastructure.
For APM, it shows real-time traces, bottlenecks, and error rates, which helps quickly identify and fix performance issues—saving time and improving user experience.

  ### 9. My datadogs experience

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neilson P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Ease of setup and comprehensive monitoring and security

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Cost and pricing complexity. There could be unexpected cost when not monitored correctly.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The dog is good being able to see and monitor everything in one place. The dashboard is pretty easy to navigate and it’s easy for me to see what I need.

  ### 10. Best for application and infra monitoring

Data dog is best for infra and app monitoring and best part is easy to configure

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Quit expensive if you have large environment

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It help to continues monitoring and alerting

  ### 11. Managed Security Operations Center

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consulting | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 11, 2025

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Datadog is very easy to use. Pivoting between security signals, logs, and event data is straightforward because it is bundled into one callout pane. Writing detection rules is very easy in the GUI. Having a DevSecOps platform to house all data is the best approach to the security problem.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Security should be contained within one page, rather than broken out into multiple SKUs -- for example, if there is a log detection trigger, I should be able to see the information from Workload Security, CSPM, etc. about the host in question in the same pane. Exporting detection rules in Terraform from the Datadog platform does not produce clean Terraform code and there are syntax errors reported. The Datadog learning platform needs to be bolstered.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It is bridging the gap between Security and DevOps.

  ### 12. Datadog review

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Yegor L. | Quality Assurance Consultant, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Datadog provides detailed monitoring, collecting data from different sources, such as servers, DBs and others. It's a complex tool with many different features, but UI helps users to navigate and find relevant information.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

It has quite a steep learning curve, and takes time to get experience.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides detailed information about the infrastructure of the system, gives insights on the performance bottlenecks and many more.

  ### 13. One Platform to rule them all!

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer Software | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 09, 2025

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

- integration of various modules are finally coming together
- the graphing capabilities are great
- response time

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

- some of the features are not as reliable or working, as promised. For example, BitsAI is solid on hype but short on delivering in production incident scenarios. Many of the DataDog's own product do not provide BitsAI integration so one has to still stitch the information together across the modules.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

- it is a single product to help detect, troubleshoot and resolve any production problems

  ### 14. Once you got onto Datadog (a closed platform), they will leverage switching cost to squeeze you

**Rating:** 1.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jay Y. | Head of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Their marketing is very strong. As I was choosing between Grafana vs Datadog, I believed datadog can solve my problems quicker and I am willing to pay more for that.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

1 months into datadog, my decision of choosing Datadog over Grafana is already biting me. None of my expectations were materialized
1. Datadog was not quicker to set up; there are less support docs/examples comparing to Grafana.
2. Datadog's support team are all about being "nice" instead of making real progress. Very inefficient.
3. When you are stuck, their support will remind you of the "switching cost" instead of solving real problems for you. Very distasteful.
4. I invested in a closed platform instead of an open source stack where I have a much easier time to extend and switch.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We have many microservices. As an executive, I needed a service catelog to track, monitor, and level up all of the services across all dimensions (APM, Cloud Cost, Incident, Log, etc).

  ### 15. Datadog is a great monitoring and observability tool

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Diego P. | VP of Engineering, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Is a tool that provides many services like infrastructure monitoring, logging, database monitoring, etc. The great about this is that all services are interconnected, so when a problem ocuurs in your systems you can configure Datadog to have end 2 end visibility of your platform, helping the engineers to debug and find problems easy and fast enough.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Sometimes the ui is very overwhelming, specially at the beginning, so many buttons and features makes the platform very complex to use, so the leraning curve is a bit hard at the beginnning, once you learn to use it is really simple and intuitive

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The monitoring and alerting systems we have in AWS and GCP are good to identify problems, but when it comes to review an end 2 end problem that there is no clue when the error is happening, datadog is providing the tools to follow step by step with full visibility of our systems. This is increasing the productivity of the engineering team a lot. We are right now finalizing our trial version but I can tell that not even getting the full potentil of it yet, is really promising what we achieved in just a few weeks. Very excited of what is coming with the new discoveries of this platform features

  ### 16. Very intuitive UI and powerfull integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nabeel S. | Associate Cloud Architect, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 26, 2024

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

We have deployed Datadog for our all cloud deployments in AWS cloud. A large number of integrations allow us to literally monitor everything. From AWS cloud infra to hosted compute whether it be physical, virtual or serverless. We are using Datadog to monitor our endpoints and UI testing of the applications through synthetic tests.
Deployment is super easy and quick with highly skilled support team. Datadog is one of the most frequenctly used tool in our organization and its been great. Documentation is very detailed and has improved over time allowing us to setup everything without major hurdles.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Some features are limited when compared to compatitors. We used to monitor the infra through NewRelic which offered more visibility into the running processes but Datadog is limited when it comes to manual process monitoring.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visibility to monitor the infrastructure, network, applications and databases was needed to optimize cost and resource right sizing. We also needed to monitor the infra and applications to keep track of whats happening and troubleshoot issues when they arrise. Datadog has helped us in doing this and we are satified with it.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

There is a need for more improvements and features in the Datadog security lineup. A centralized SCA and SAST is lacking. Additionally, easier integration with MS Teams and other third-party software is necessary.

Flutter support in Real User Monitoring (it is not fully supported yet).

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1. At one glance I can see status of my production environment.
2. If there is issue in midnight then watchdog given me exact context on where is the failure and which all microservices were involved along with CPU and RAM usage of given period.

  ### 34. A fantastic product with nebulous billing

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Real Estate | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

A very strong monitoring an integration tool that has many integrations across the market that allow for very fast setup and usage. Generally can derive value very quickly and have a functioning setup out of the box

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Billing that can very much catch up with you quickly or billing practices that don'ty scale well into modern infra design. For example how per-host billing is done is still not very friendly to spot/dynamic workloads due to time accounting.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Mainly application monitoring, logging, and APM/Tracing.

It acts as a strong centralized tool for things like tracing, and allows cross enterprise visibility for services that span many areas.

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** David L. | Senior Software Engineer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2024

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

The user experience of DataDog is amazing. The granuality and flexibility of filters and charts makes it easy to quickly sift through large amounts of data and find what you need. This is especially useful when trying to quickly troubleshoot an incidents.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

One annoying thing about DataDog is working with IoC configurations that are defined in Terraform.

It's tough to make changes to your configurations because you need to deploy them in order to see if you did it correctly. It's also not possible to lock down resources defined with IoC, so sometimes people will edit something via the web UI that was conficuged in Terraform and then their changes will get reverted when Terraform re-deploys and they won't know why.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

System observability and incident response.

**Reviewed by:** yash m. | Software developer, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2024

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

One of the most thing being liked about datadog is the detailed information of the the track of the application, its request/response, error/log traces, complete api information with integration of the application servers, databases making sure the application remaining up and running throught the business working hours without any intereptions.
The complete visibility of the error traces makes it easy to track down any issues reported and thus making its fixes.

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

When integrating the application its servers the database the cost is quite high. also when it comes to large applciation wiht heavy database it is tough to integrate.

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Datadog helos in monitoing the entire application inclusing the servers, databases, api its request response error log and traces. Also with error success rates and different views a developer can easily configures the application in datadog and wntire application can be monitored easily in just few clicks. The benefits it gives to business is the applicaiton availability 24x7 and easy access to logs thus eliminating the problems and ensuring working of the application.

**What do you like best about Datadog?**

Incredibly high quality software that is powerful

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

Lack of feature parity across products, like why can I do multiple queries and folumas in Logs but not RUM?

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Without it we wouldn't be able to make any decisions, we can actually see what is happening in production and be proactive instead of just reacting to customers.

  ### 49. Datadog for Observability

**What do you dislike about Datadog?**

nope! very impressive all things about products

**What problems is Datadog solving and how is that benefiting you?**

instead of strictly securing presonal or sensitive user data at sall times, it would be useful to have a feature that reveals masked data based on access permissions.
