**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

The platform is a real powerhouse for market research and competitive mapping. I especially value the “similar companies” feature, which helps surface competitors and potential leads that weren’t even on my radar yet. It also offers strong visibility into investment metrics and overall fiscal health, which makes it much easier to build a data-driven case for our market positioning. On top of that, having our own profile on the platform boosts our visibility with potential partners.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

The subscription cost is definitely the biggest hurdle. Even though the data quality is high, the pricing tier for smaller teams or individual departments still feels quite steep. The platform would be far more accessible with more flexible pricing options for users who only need specific data sets, rather than having to pay for the entire global enterprise suite.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It solves the problem of fragmented information when I’m trying to vet new clients or analyze the competition. By centralizing funding history, leadership changes, and firmographic data in one place, it lets me run thorough market analysis in a fraction of the time it would take to do manually. That time savings directly supports our strategic planning and helps us spot new revenue opportunities sooner.

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

What I like most about Crunchbase is the filtering and search system. I use it a lot to find companies based on industry, funding stage, and location. This cuts down hours of manual research because I can quickly build a targeted list instead of checking multiple sources.

The company profiles are very useful in daily work. I can see funding history, investors, and key people in one place, which helps me understand a company before outreach or analysis. This makes my workflow faster when doing competitor research or lead generation.

The UI is clean and easy to navigate. Moving between company profiles, investor data, and funding rounds feels smooth, so I don’t waste time figuring out where things are.

Performance is reliable. Searches load fast even with multiple filters, which is important when working on large datasets.

One unexpected benefit is the tracking feature. I follow specific companies and get updates on funding or changes, which helps me stay updated without checking manually every time.

Pricing feels a bit high, but the time saved in research makes it worth it from a ROI perspective.

Onboarding is simple. It doesn’t take much time to get used to the platform, and most features are self-explanatory.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

One issue is data accuracy. Some company profiles are outdated or missing details, so I still have to cross-check from other sources.

Pricing is on the higher side, especially if you need full access to filters and exports. It can feel expensive for smaller teams or individual use.

The free version is quite limited. Many useful filters and data points are locked, which restricts proper research unless you upgrade.

Sometimes the filters don’t give perfectly clean results. I’ve seen irrelevant companies show up, so it takes extra time to refine lists.

There are also limited integrations with other tools. Exporting data works, but direct syncing with CRM or other platforms could be better.

Support is decent, but not very fast when it comes to resolving issues or queries.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crunchbase solves the problem of scattered company and funding data. Earlier, I had to check multiple websites to find details like funding rounds, investors, and company background. Now I get all of this in one place.

It helps a lot in lead generation and market research. I use filters to find companies based on industry, location, and funding stage, which makes it easier to build targeted prospect lists instead of random outreach.

For competitor research, it gives a quick view of who is investing in whom and how companies are growing. This helps in understanding market trends without spending hours collecting data.

It also saves time in daily work. Instead of manual research, I can quickly shortlist companies, export data, and move directly to outreach or analysis.

Overall, it makes research faster, more structured, and easier to scale.

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

I use Crunchbase every day for market research. I work in the tech industry and need to track companies, funding rounds, and competitors. Crunchbase saves me a ton of time.    The funding data is what I rely on most. I can see every round a company has raised, who invested, and how much. Before Crunchbase, I was piecing this together from news articles and press releases. That took forever. Now I just pull up the company profile and everything is there.    The filtering is also really useful. I can narrow down by industry, company size, location, funding amount — whatever I need. I build targeted lists for prospecting and market analysis in minutes instead of hours.    I also like that Crunchbase tracks executive changes. If a company gets a new CEO or CFO, I see it right away. That helps me understand if a company is stable or going through leadership turmoil.    The interface is clean. Not flashy, but easy to navigate. I can find what I need without clicking through five menus.    The ecosystem view is another feature I appreciate. Crunchbase connects companies to their investors, founders, and competitors. That gives me a much better picture of the industry landscape than just looking at one company in isolation.    Overall, Crunchbase is my go-to for company research. It's not perfect, but it does exactly what I need for my daily work.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I mainly dislike three main points about Crunchbase in daily use. First, it lacks sufficient detailed operational business information for most local European small and medium-sized tech firms, with few actual project cases and specific service details available, forcing me to spend extra time verifying information elsewhere. Second, its existing filter tags are too general, lacking finely divided industry labels for local IT sectors, so I have to manually sort out plenty of irrelevant screened results. Third, the data update speed for mid-level staff changes and latest business moves is sometimes slow, and its data export modes are too limited without customizable output formats, which adds extra workload to my later report sorting and data arrangement work.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Crunchbase, my research process was a mess. I'll give you a few specific examples.    Problem one: information scattered everywhere. If I wanted to learn about a company, I had to check their website, read news articles, look at LinkedIn, search for funding announcements on TechCrunch, and piece everything together myself. That took maybe 20 to 30 minutes per company. When I needed to research 20 companies, that was a full day of work. Crunchbase solves this by putting everything in one place. Funding history, key executives, company size, competitors — it's all on one page. Now researching a company takes maybe five minutes. That saves me hours every week.    Problem two: missing funding announcements. I track startups and scale-ups in the tech industry. Knowing when a company raises money is important. It tells me they have cash to spend and are probably hiring. Before Crunchbase, I relied on Google Alerts and news feeds. I missed rounds all the time. Small rounds don't always make the news. Crunchbase solves this by tracking funding directly from SEC filings, press releases, and other sources. I see rounds that never get covered by tech blogs. That gives me a more complete picture of the market.    Problem three: manual lead filtering. I build targeted lists of companies for sales and partnership outreach. Before Crunchbase, I would start with a big list and manually check each company against my criteria. Industry? Location? Funding amount? Company size? That was tedious and error-prone. Crunchbase solves this with advanced filters. I select industry, location, funding range, employee count, and growth stage. The platform shows me only the companies that match. That turns a two-hour manual task into a five-minute filter.    Problem four: understanding company stability. When a company loses its CEO or CFO, that's a red flag. Before Crunchbase, I had no easy way to track executive changes. I might hear about a big departure through the news, but smaller changes went unnoticed. Crunchbase solves this by tracking executive changes in real time. I can see who joined, who left, and when. That helps me assess whether a company is stable or in turmoil before I decide to partner with them or invest time.    How this benefits me. I spend less time hunting for information and more time actually using it. My research is more complete because I'm not missing funding rounds or executive changes. My lead lists are more accurate because the filters work. I make better strategic decisions because I have better data. Crunchbase saves me maybe 10 hours a week. That's the real benefit.

It gives me all the information I need on companies, investors, funding rounds, acquisitions, and more as part of my research process while serving clients in the investment banking industry.

As far as the database is concerned, I think some of the data needs to be refined or corrected. We’ve noticed that, in many cases, some base-level information is missing or incorrect, especially for companies that aren’t very well known.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps me research for clients I’m servicing in the IB space. I also use it to build cases for valuation work, as well as for tracking industry trends and doing analysis.

I like Crunchbase for its trustworthy, real-time company and market data that's centralized in one place. It's great not needing to jump between LinkedIn, company websites, and other sources. The data is consistently updated, especially around funding announcements, leadership changes, company headcount, and industry categories, making our B2B prospecting more accurate and efficient. I appreciate how easy it is to filter and build targeted lead lists based on company stage, growth signals, location, or industry, which helps our team prioritize high-potential prospects quickly. The initial setup of Crunchbase was also really straightforward and easy.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

The search filters can feel limited for very specific B2B targeting, and sometimes the data for smaller or private firms is not as complete or up-to-date as we'd like. We've also noticed that contact accuracy varies — some emails or titles are outdated, which hurts our outreach efficiency.

I like Crunchbase because it's very intuitive and makes it easy to filter data with any filters I want, like region, company size, and industry. I can also easily create my own lists or export data. It covers almost every single company or startup that I've looked for and includes predefined lists like top startups in Europe from specific industries. The browser extension works great, showing live data when checking companies on LinkedIn. The initial setup was very easy, so I didn't need additional support or tutorials.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I would say sometimes not every single data was updated there, especially regarding companies that really recently got new funding, but probably a matter of time for the data to be there as well. Let’s be honest, it's not a cheap tool.

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

What I like best about Crunchbase is the speed and structure it brings to company and market research. You get a single, reliable source for firmographic data, funding history, leadership changes, and growth signals that would otherwise take hours to piece together from multiple tools. From a business user perspective, the advanced filters and saved searches are especially valuable. They make it easy to identify target accounts, track competitors, and spot emerging companies based on real signals like recent funding, hiring trends, or acquisitions.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

The main drawback is data consistency at the account level.

While Crunchbase is strong at a macro level, some company profiles can be outdated or incomplete, especially for mid-market and non-US businesses. This means critical fields like employee count, revenue range, or decision-maker details still need external validation.
From a workflow standpoint, the UI can feel dense for new users. Powerful filters are available, but it takes time to understand how to combine them effectively. A more guided experience for advanced searches would improve usability. 
The pricing can be difficult to justify for smaller teams that only need limited access, especially when export limits and feature tiers restrict day-to-day operational use.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For me, the biggest benefit is speed with confidence. I can quickly validate whether a company is funded, growing, recently acquired, or strategically relevant before investing time in outreach, partnerships, or analysis.

It also supports better prioritization. Funding events, growth signals, and leadership changes help identify which accounts are worth attention now versus later. The result is more focused execution, fewer wasted cycles, and higher-quality business conversations.

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

I like the daily updates in Crunchbase that let me see where funding deals have been closed and identify emerging startups. It helps me understand the evolving and maturing landscape of startups. I find it really valuable for determining which industries are growing, which areas are receiving the most investment, and identifying the fastest growing startups.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

I used to be a premium subscriber, and I'm not anymore because I don't use the venture capital and funding resources as much to target specific fundraising efforts. I do not like the limits on the amount of companies you can look up per month. It would be better to just restrict some of the information that's provided on those companies than restricting access to information on the company.

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Crunchbase helps me monitor the startup landscape. It provides insights on venture capital funding, emerging startups, and industry specific, regional, and global trends. I find the daily updates valuable for identifying startup growth and investment areas.

**What do you like best about Crunchbase?**

Crunchbase is built for people who want to sell things to startup companies but needs to get a list of the companies first. If you want to do that, this is a good tool. It also allows you to export lists to excel or your CRM, and take notes on the companies that you have contacted. Crunchbase is not great at generating the names of people to contact, there are other tools for that. But if you have a widget to sell, and your task is to find startup companies in specific industries like environmental consulting, aeroplane manufacturing, and dentists, all in 3 European Union countries, this data company will get you the names of those companies.

**What do you dislike about Crunchbase?**

The Crunchbase UI is not great. I want to export lists with the same columns in the same order each time, but I have to build that list manually every single time rather than build the template once. Also, I have asked my relationship manager multiple times about allowing tags, or building a list and then asking "What are similar companies?"

**What problems is Crunchbase solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I work for a firm that is trying to get startup companies in a specific industry to buy something. We do not know the names of all the companies in the industry. This is the best data resource for that task.
