Based on that, we can make decisions about programming and social framing. Seeing what posts are "overperforming" has been an invaluable asset and gives important insight into what's working in our social media strategy. **What do you dislike about CrowdTangle?** I wish CrowdTangle had a historic overview. I can see which posts have been overperforming over the past six hours, but I can't go back further than that. Sometimes the day is busy and I forget to look at how a specific post has done shortly after it posted; when I do remember to check, it's too late for me to know. **Recommendations to others considering CrowdTangle:** I would recommend setting up your dashboard so that you can quickly see at a glance how competitors (or any other news organizations you track) are doing on Facebook. **What problems is CrowdTangle solving and how is that benefiting you?** CrowdTangle is an important competitive analysis tool that allows me to quickly get a broad overview of other news organizations' social posts and performance. It has been incredibly helpful for programming and data analytics purposes. ### 2. Filtering options and the intelligence sections is quite intuitive in terms of you will find what you are looking for defiantly, the pre made lists by the platform makes your life easier to know mode in specific about media outlets, governmental and other lists that are pre made. **What do you dislike about CrowdTangle?** I can get bit complicated with all the features and data, specially the huge number that you will get. **Recommendations to others considering CrowdTangle:** There is tons of platforms out there that does somehow the similar matters, but crowdtangle is unique and it's features and access to information cannot be replicated, hence I only recommend crowdtangle over others. **What problems is CrowdTangle solving and how is that benefiting you?** Trends analysis, fact checking and rumors tackling. We use the platform to assure our findings in terms of rumors tracking, fact checking and trends analysis with influencers and the depth of reach of a certain rumor, in which all the results are done in seconds without any delay, with an exportable file for sentiment analysis and other means of analysis. ### 6. It's quite easy to set up dashboards that display the top posts of a day for a topic on Facebook, Instagram, or Reddit. The interface is pretty easy to use, and its alerting capabilities are also very helpful. **What do you dislike about CrowdTangle?** It would be helpful to have full Boolean search capabilities when constructing searches. It also is limited to Facebook, Instagram, Reddit, and recent Twitter posts, so it can't be relied upon as a full social listening solution. While the dashboards do a great job at showing top posts, there's no simple way to see how many total posts match a search for a certain period. **Recommendations to others considering CrowdTangle:** Use it as a solution to supplement other social listening tools **What problems is CrowdTangle solving and how is that benefiting you?** Understanding what posts are trending on Facebook and Instagram within a certain topic has given the team more intelligence and data points when writing summarized analyses. I've also leveraged its pre-built lists to monitor posts about that topic within specific pages. That has allowed the team to have more timely alerts of content that warrants further analysis . ### 7. It's a great tool for seeing top performers and trends over time. I also like that I can monitor competitive brands and discover trending pieces or content that has spiked during a time period. I find the Intelligence dashboard easy to use with a pretty seamless interface. **What do you dislike about CrowdTangle?** Beyond just engagement data like comments, shares, video views etc, I wish there was a way to see traffic data as well. It would be helpful if there was a "link clicks" tab that was tied to Google Analytics that would give some topline sessions data across social platforms. **Recommendations to others considering CrowdTangle:** Crowdtangle offers a quick and easy way to monitor not only your social platforms, but others as well giving you a pulse inside the industry on social. Ask yourself why you'll be using this tool and see how you can create specific dashboards tailored to your needs. If monitoring trends and viral pieces is essential to your strategy, this is a great platform to help you visualize that data. **What problems is CrowdTangle solving and how is that benefiting you?** CrowdTangle helps me identify top performers across Facebook and Instagram. CrowdTangle used to allow users to compile tweets and then email those tweets to ourselves. My team and I used it daily and would love to use it again. **What problems is CrowdTangle solving and how is that benefiting you?** CrowdTangle gives me a snapshot of discourse online and makes it easy to map trends.
