## About Cove Data Protection
Cove Data Protection, from N-able, is a cloud-first backup and disaster recovery service for servers, workstations, and Microsoft 365™, all managed from a multitenant web-based dashboard. Cove was created and optimized for the cloud, so incremental backups are up to 60 times smaller than with traditional image backup products. This allows you to back up more often, and the SaaS delivery format reduces administrative time, lowering your cost of service delivery. Storage in our private cloud is included, with data centers worldwide.

## Cove Data Protection Reviews
  ### 1. Cloud Backup Product - Works very well indeed

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Peter J. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 14, 2022

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

Setup is simple enough. Company has been very responsive in helping to set up the first few computers - 1 server and 2 workstations so far - and support seems to be readily available when I need it. The other day I had a very good session that went over some of the finer points of the product. All backups performed so far have been flawless (there was on glitch within a day of setup, that resolved itself automatically before I even noticed it, this doesn't count). Machine performance hit(s) do not seem to be noticeable. A local (loopback) web host instantly shows you status of that machine's backup, and the management console is reasonably clear. Since the product is complex by nature, I have no complaints in that regard.

Cove also seems to co-exist very well with existing on-site backup programs. In this case EaseUS Todo Backup Enterprise and GoodSync backup (yes, all three at once).

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

So far, I see no operational downside to using Cove backup so far. As for the cost, it's a bit pricey. But it does work as claimed.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I gain the security of cloud-based backup, in addition to separate on-site images-on-disk.

  ### 2. Simple To Use, Works Like It Should

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin A. | Proprietor, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

I like how simple the dashboard is and easy to use. I also like the UI when you go to do a recovery. It's speedy and responsive -- easy to pull up an "oops" deleted email or Sharepoint accidental rename. It's easy to filter and search clients or specific scenarios (M365 Backups), and you can create custom profiles and retention policies.

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

I dislike the terms N-Able has started imposing on Partners. I'm still new to it, but it reminds me of Kaseya with a "Master agreement" that then auto-renews you into certain terms or gets rid of things they used to have. For example, you used to be able to reduce your Cove usage once per year if something happened but when I signed up, my rep told me they had just gotten rid of that. He still worked with me to find a solution so that was nice.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's consolidating my backup needs into a single dashboard. That benefits me by not having to go through several vendors. It's also quite granular and speedy, which saves time when a client calls with a problem.

  ### 3. The ease of checking Cove Data protection

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Vincent N. | Restaurant Supervisor

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

The best feature of Cove Data protection is the main dashboard and the analytics you receive when checking individual machines for backups. It provides an easy view for all machines, including, charts for different topics (such as backups completed and devices on Cove) and the filtering system is really easy to use, helping me find devices easily.

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

One downside of cove data protection is the error page. The backup error page lists errors that have occurred during backups, and gives me a reason for failure, but there is no potential solution to this issue. I have to copy the error, and paste it into google, often reccommending me sites that aren't N-able's support page.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cove Data protection gives our companies/customers an extra line of security for their files, system states, and SQL databases. We know that in case of a disaster, user error, or basic server backups, our customers are protected and have a fail safe. This benefits us because it provides a selling point for our services and keeps our existing companies protected.

  ### 4. Easy restoration and backup Management

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Reece B. | Support Desk Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 12, 2026

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

Being able to view errors in the backups portal, so that any issues can quickly be rectified and backups are up to date.
Cove makes it easy to restore files from a chosen date quickly, meaning a high quality of service can be provided to our customers.

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

I don't like not being able to exclude certain pathways from the backup scope, whilst a profile is applied.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Cove solves the problem of keeping software backed up and ready to restore in the event of data loss / corruption.

It allows our customers to obtain an earlier instance of a file, should they need it for their records, or if they want to go back.

It gives us and our customers piece of mind that their files and folders are safe and secure.

  ### 5. Reliable RMM with great device visibility and patch management.

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Dom H. | Aquascaping

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

It is incredibly simple to set up and manage backups for servers, workstations, and Microsoft 365 environments from a single dashboard. The cloud-first architecture means we don't have to manage local appliance hardware, and recoveries are fast and highly reliable.

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

The pricing structure can become expensive as client data storage footprints grow significantly over time. Additionally, the initial full seed backup can take quite a long time to complete on slower, asymmetric internet connections.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It completely eliminates the overhead of managing and maintaining local backup storage infrastructure across our client sites. By providing automated, reliable cloud backups with a unified multitenant dashboard, it reduces our technician management time and gives us total confidence in our disaster recovery capabilities.

  ### 6. The smoothest backup manager I've used

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Isaiah S. | Computer Technician, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

From start to finish, Cove Data Protection makes the backup process simple and streamlined. We can configure backup profiles to match our customers’ exact expectations and requirements, and having a single installer that works across multiple devices within the same company makes the overall rollout extremely efficient. After the initial setup, backups run nearly flawlessly, and any errors or issues are reported directly in the portal, which makes it easy for me to understand what happened and address it quickly. The recovery process is also very smooth; whether it’s a straightforward file or folder restore or a full computer image recovery, we’ve consistently been able to recover important customer data.

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

The UI can be a bit confusing to learn at first when new to the software, and it takes some customizing to get looking the way we wanted it to properly display info to us.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Computers and servers will never work perfectly, so having Cove backups is the way to reassure myself and our customers that we can always help them recover their work or data whenever there are technical problems. We have the peace of mind knowing that if anything does go wrong with any devices, we have the capability to restore it to working condition in a timely manner.

  ### 7. Cove Data Protection Review

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brice H. | System Analyst

**Reviewed Date:** July 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

From my experience with Cove Data Protection, I really like how easy the portal is to use. I had to perform a server restore last week on Hyper-V, and it was very straightforward for me to get up and running. File-level restores are also simple to complete, which overall makes the product feel very user-friendly.

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

I honestly don’t have any real dislikes about this product. That said, I don’t use it as often as some other people might, so my experience with it is a bit more occasional.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I think the biggest thing Cove solves is reliability when you need it most, especially in situations where a server is down.

  ### 8. Cloud-First Backups with TrueDelta Speed and a Unified Dashboard

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** KAWSER A. | IT Security Support Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 05, 2026

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

Its cloud-first architecture eliminates the need for expensive local hardware and appliances.TrueDelta technology enables backups up to 60x faster by only syncing tiny file changes. The unified dashboard simplifies managing servers, workstations, and Microsoft 365 in one place.

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

It is strictly for Microsoft 365, leaving Google users in the lurch.Essential tools like automated recovery testing often cost extra, complicating the total price.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Traditional backups rely on expensive local appliances or NAS drives that can fail, run out of space, or require constant physical maintenance.

  ### 9. It Just Works!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sam D. | Senior Infrastructure Systems Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

Setup process is very straightforward. It's easy to spot errors, policies and profiles are easy to build and deploy, and automated backup recovery testing saves us a ton of time.

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

Sometimes the 365 backups fail for no real reason. Some core features have taken a while to be implemented, like PST exporting.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

A quick solution to deploy robust cloud backup for customers. Once deployed it's very hands off and causes us little issues.

  ### 10. Exceptional cloud backup and recovery solution for MSP

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Computer & Network Security

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Cove Data Protection?**

Convenient multitenant management, ideal for administering multiple clients from a single point. The usage is simple and the learning curve is quick. The cost calculation is also clear, straightforward, and without surprises. The new DRaaS proposal is also interesting, the missing piece to complete the solution.

**What do you dislike about Cove Data Protection?**

Inability to manage Google environments as is done with M365.

**What problems is Cove Data Protection solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Secure the clients and help me manage backups easily, without the typical complexities of other disaster recovery solutions.
