"It is a great product for contractors"

What do you like best about Constructware?

Constructware is a great tool to collaborate with others on a project. It can be customized to a degree to meet business needs and provides helpful dashboards and transparency. Controlling permissions at user level is also helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Constructware?

We discontinued use of Constructware for several reasons. The first reason is cost. It is quite expensive in comparison to competitors. We also found the product to be best marketed for contractors. As an owner, we were able to make it work by reversing some of the logic and using some modules for other reasons rather than those intended. We used labeling and masking a great deal to make fields work as well. We also found too much duplication of effort to keep up required cost documentation in our university required platform (SAP). We found that Constructware support also started slipping a few years ago. Snapshots also stopped performing correctly which forced us to hire a special project position for 3 years to truly download data from our projects to be in compliance with our permanent record retention rules mandated by the state. When you have a lot of data to upload (contracts, estimates, photos) sometime it takes a while and slows down. Upload your important documents first, then support documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Constructware solving and how is that benefiting you?

I was fortunate enough to be a part of the BP Reimage Team in 2001 and one of the first companies to use and help solidify Constructware for Project/Program Management. We used Constructware to manage over 15,000 site, coast to coast in different stages of construction/reimage. With site survey, listing of thousands of materials, estimating of each site, documentation and completion photos of each site. Not only that, there was a groups of 20+ people using, uploading and working on these sites in Constructware at any given time, day and night. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Constructware?

What I like best is the configurable workflows that allow you to manage user roles and functions.

As well as the ability to workflow attachments and autogenerated documents. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What i disliked was that it wasn’t intuitive for users. When workflows broke or documents were rejected there were no notifications alerting users on status; which lead to delays for manual intervention to occur and users unaware where things are or how to find them within the application.
