**What do you like best about COMSOL Multiphysics®?**

I've only used some of the modules but I like that there's plenty to pick from, literally something for everyone.

**What do you dislike about COMSOL Multiphysics®?**

The user interface is not super friendly, but once you get used to it, you are ready to go.

**What problems is COMSOL Multiphysics® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

COMSOL is the leading software in my lab for physics simulations. If it weren't for COMSOL we'd take much longer to hardcode simulations.

User friendly, easy to implement the scientific problem. Complex problems have solved easily with this software. I have used equation-based modeling to implement custom governing equations.

**What do you dislike about COMSOL Multiphysics®?**

This software is limited to academic institutes, and this technology should focus on an industrial problem. I have great expectations to see as the lead software in industrial application.

**Recommendations to others considering COMSOL Multiphysics®:**

Would you please release the student license version

  ### 7. Great FEA Software for fluid flow

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 29, 2020

**What do you like best about COMSOL Multiphysics®?**

COMSOL has been utilized for simpler tasks for my lab regarding basic fluid flow in a microfluidic device. Although not used for a complex system, the software has a good setup between the mathematical analysis and inputted 3D design model. It is relatively easy to learn with a set of good tutorials that can be found throughout the web even for beginner users, although this may take a little longer.

**What do you dislike about COMSOL Multiphysics®?**

The main dislike of COMSOL is the amount of processing speed that is required to run even simple models in the software along with the results and some of the interfaces could be updated to be more user friendly.

**Recommendations to others considering COMSOL Multiphysics®:**

My recommendation for those that are considering using COMSOL is that it is a good software for a range of modeling options, including fluid dynamics, and that if you need help in developing a model there are a range of Youtube that can be easily found to learn the basics. Another recommendation is that the computer that is going to be utilizing the software should have a good amount of RAM and drivers to support higher end modeling in order to not slow the process down. Before purchasing the software I would look for tutorials that are geared toward your interests if you are not an advanced user to help with the starting process of using the software.

**What problems is COMSOL Multiphysics® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The COMSOL software is being utilized to model fluid flow through a variety of microfluidic devices for different fluids and designs.

  ### 8. Not the best but real good

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chad H. | Chemist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 25, 2019

**What do you like best about COMSOL Multiphysics®?**

Modelling in COMSOL is thereabouts to easy. If you are a beginner, online tutorials on their website is so helpful for basic stuff. However, it is not enough for handling your job, you need to improve by practising. We are modelling chemical reactions by using COMSOL, after that we compare the results with our hand calculations and real reaction results. Almost always simulation results fits with real experiment results.

**What do you dislike about COMSOL Multiphysics®?**

I wish they would put more tutorials on their website. They have a small tutorial library, needs to be extended.

**What problems is COMSOL Multiphysics® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using it for modelling my semiconductor experiments. Mostly on nanoscales with silicon and germanium stuff. It is good so far, but I am looking for a better alternative.

  ### 9. A great simulation platform and versatile tool capable of simulating things from stresses to waves

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Apoorva K. | Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for Mechanical Systems and Controls, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** September 26, 2019

**What do you like best about COMSOL Multiphysics®?**

Comsol allows for creating physics simulations. I have personally used it for acoustics simulations to model plane waves, and in design projects to test various hypotheses. The application builder-server system is definitely a plus point and helps tailor simulations to personal needs

**What do you dislike about COMSOL Multiphysics®?**

Most attributes are very likeable. However, I do believe that the resolution of plots and animations could be made better. The model tree on the left also appears clunky at times. There is a potential for making the interface easier to discern.

**Recommendations to others considering COMSOL Multiphysics®:**

It's an exciting platform. Do try to spend time on if you are interested in modelling complex physical systems and/or designing innovative materials with desirable acoustic properties

**What problems is COMSOL Multiphysics® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am using COMSOL for my research in acoustics. We are trying to design materials with specific properties that help us achieve desired acoustic effects (such as maximum transmission and low reflectivity)

  ### 10. The most complete software to simulate and solving finite element analysis

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Roberto M. | Solution Support Engineer at BaxEnergy, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 28, 2019

**What do you like best about COMSOL Multiphysics®?**

COMSOL has a comprensive user interface. Especially for beginners, helps to set up multiphysics structures with the help of an interactive assistant.

**What do you dislike about COMSOL Multiphysics®?**

It requires a very powerful hardware, especially in terms of RAM. Complex simulations require hours of computation, but results are guaranteed. Is challenging and very hard the first approach, but even if sometimes tutorial are not very complete, the community is willing to help.

**What problems is COMSOL Multiphysics® solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I worked a lot with thermofluid related problem. I was capable to carrying out complex simulations about lab-on-a-chip (LOC) devices. Thanks to COMSOL I was able to design the model and perform analytic and numeric calculations very quickly.
