What do you like best about Commerce Components by Shopify?

It’s saved us a ton of development time and headaches because we no longer have to rebuild critical commerce functions from scratch. Instead, we can plug in the proven Shopify components and put our energy into the unique features that actually differentiate our brand.

What do you dislike about Commerce Components by Shopify?

The most frustrating thing for me about Commerce Components by Shopify is how much extra complexity it introduces compared to a standard Shopify setup. Since it’s a modular, headless-style approach, there’s simply more to manage on the development side: integrating different components, working with APIs, and maintaining your own frontend. It clearly requires a stronger dev team and more ongoing technical effort, which isn’t ideal if your main goal is to keep things simple and straightforward. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Commerce Components by Shopify solving and how is that benefiting you?

With Commerce Components, we can finally pick and choose the specific Shopify pieces we actually need—especially the high-performing Checkout and Cart with Shop Pay—and plug them straight into our custom headless frontend. That means we still benefit from Shopify’s proven infrastructure and strong conversion rates, but we’re not forced into using a full Shopify theme or giving up control of our site’s design and overall user flow.
