It just works! Honestly, while Coderbyte is great for us, I’m even more impressed with how it benefits the people completing the assignments. TestGorilla introduces a lot of friction in the workflow, but Coderbyte keeps things straightforward and simple. The IDE in Coderbyte is significantly better, and I’ve noticed more applicants completing their assignments, which gives us a larger pool of candidates to choose from. Support is awesome and quick too.

Additionally, while TestGorilla doesn’t offer API access, Coderbyte provides both API and webhook access, making it easy for us to connect with our CRM. With TestGorilla, we had to pay for Zapier just to integrate it with our CRM, but Coderbyte eliminates that hassle entirely. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It was super easy to configure the assessments, and the candidates found the site very easy to navigate. I also really appreciate the pricing model at Coderbyte, as it was much less expensive than alternatives while still offering the (admittedly basic) functionality we needed. It was frustrating to be limited to 50 candidates at a time, which was not super clear until we actually got around to giving the assessment and had to turn people away. We also found it frustrating that it would cost significantly more expensive to be able to offload the assessment results into a JSON or CSV. Coderbyte has saved us a ton of time compared to our old processes, which included things like requesting code sammples, or sending them coding challenges that we had to manually run and verify.
