## CodeInterview Reviews
  ### 1. Huge fan of CodeInterview.IO

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joy T. | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 20, 2024

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

As someone in talent acquisition who supports many different engineering divisions that work fast and furious- the ease of using CodeInterview is greatly appreciated. I appreciate that I can set up and monitor code sharing session on demand.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

There is nothing I dislike abt CodeInterview ( and I always have something I dislike about SaaS apps).

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Screening for engineering and technical candidates.

  ### 2. CodeInterview does an amazing job at taking live coding interviews

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Divyansh f. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

Its a simple product to use and I like the UI/UX of CodeInterview. It is very easy to create shareable interview sessions. The process of inviting people to the live session is also very easy.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

I feel its still in nacent stage in terms of features. One problem that I faced was that the compiler was slow some times.
Apart from that few of the Java libraries could not be imported in it.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CodeInterview has made it easier for us to conduct online coding interviews. It has streamlined the interview process for candidates that apply.
One of the best features is templates that you can create in the product and they come in very handy.

  ### 3. Solid functionality with a few opportunities for improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Charles S. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

The thing I like most about CodeInterview is the straightforward UI. It is trivially easy to create and update templates, easy to create a new interview, easy to invite people into the interview, and easy to navigate the various features once in the interview.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

I've only observed two drawbacks to CodeInterview: the latency and the lack of color in the terminal output. The latency is the biggest drawback and can make it challenging for both candidates and interviewers to add and edit code. The lack of color in the terminal output makes it particularly difficult to disambiguate data, errors and debug output.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CodeInterview solves the fundamental problem of being able to collaborate on a code sample with a candidate. Take-home coding challenges are not effective in our environment because we really need to see how someone collaborates. CodeInterview gives us the collaborative environment we need to assess our candidates accurately.

  ### 4. CodeInterview works for what it is worth, but is not that user friendly and lacks features.

**Rating:** 1.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 14, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

It was an ok code platform to conduct an interview. Overall it was efficient and worked for the use of my interview. I could do what I had to, and coding was overall a painless experience.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

There were missing aesthetic elements on the UI and interview panel that I believed should exist on a modern platform, and moving the GUI panels felt clunky and outdated. A button that could switch to sole interview mode before the coding section could make the website feel more friendly and be a valuable feature for coding interviews during chatting times.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As an interview platform from the perspective of an interviewee. Its always going to be a little stressful and uptight in that environment but it was a decent way to demonstrate skills to employers.

  ### 5. Fast, responsive and simple enough

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sergiy S. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 09, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

CodeInterview is a fast and responsive service; it was easy to follow whatever candidates were coding.
It supports several most popular programming languages that can be used simultaneously.
The section with task description and the section for interviewer's notes is also very helpful.
The final result can be easily shared with other reviewers.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

I liked the Whiteboard feature, and it's useful for some initial design discussions. However, I was surprised to find that the whiteboard was emptied when the interview is completed.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's an excellent app for technical interviewing and simple collaborative coding.

  ### 6. CodeInterview is a nice simple tool and we used it to conduct interview rounds in our organization

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Divyansh K. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 10, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

Its sharing capabilities. It is very easy to invite multiple people and pair programs as well.

The hidden comment feature is also really useful for later references

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

The compiler needs a little bit of work. Not all libraries are present and event simple of data structures are missing. Themes can be worked upon and improved.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Code interview provides a platform for us to share online realtime codable workspaces to multiple people at once. This has immensely streamlines the coding interview process for us.

  ### 7. Great platform for data science interview

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amir R. | Senior Data Analyst, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

The questions are very similar to what I saw during a real interview. They are of high quality and very helpful.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

The fact that it doesn't have a lot of free questions to prove the people who visit it for the first time that it's actually worth it to buy the membership.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It's helping job searchers like me to practice coding skills and prepare for their interview. I have practiced SQL and Python in CodeInterview

  ### 8. Amazing Expereince

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Fatemeh T. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 12, 2023

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

I like its user-friendly environment and the way it can help you prepare for the interviews. I was interviewed by some companies for data analyst roles, and they were using CodeInterview.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

If it covers more questions in MYSQL with answers and you have the chance to select what topic you want to practice, it will be the best! :)

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am mainly using its services as a general user tp practice coding!

  ### 9. Great interview tool that makes remote sharing quite easy + a few suggestions for improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Entertainment | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 09, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

The templating system is fantastic. I got a lot of value from it by creating a problem for our candidates in multiple programming languages. Switching between languages for the same prompt made the interview process smooth.

Each candidate I interacted with had no issue using the UI to write and run their code. Additionally, having a Markdown file for the description makes communicating the problem's details easy.

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

- The UI feature, which highlights where the user is to click (a small grey dot), is quite annoying. I've used the product before and therefore don't need the "how to use the UI" prompt each time I run an interview.
- The way the above feature was displayed on Firefox was a bit wonky and required some trial and error to click it away.
- The lack of importing 3rd party extensions is a bit of a drag. In one specific case, not having access to Jackson's data-bind library while dealing with JSON de-serialization proved to be a bit of a headache as the natural javax way of doing it is a bit arcane. Given the industry ubiquity of something like Jackson, having it available to interview with would be great.
- Why is the output for programs always in red? Is this because it's outputting with STDERR? I would strongly suggest making it something more readable. The UI's text output was challenging to read in places. My coding prompt involved the candidate reading the text output and working through problems, so this was a bit of a drag, given how hard to read the font and color were.
- Why do I have to name a Java class a specific magic word (`MyCode`)? You should be able to call the class whatever you need, so long as it has a `public static main` method.
- I believe the Run button should be made more prominent and perhaps put up top instead of down on the bottom.

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The ability to run code in a shared environment puts little to no stress on the interview candidate. It's a huge relief not to need either my IDE setup or a candidate's IDE setup to write and run programs while video chatting. It allows interviewers to get to the point.

The ability to shift templates based on candidate experience is HUGE. I love this feature.

  ### 10. CodeInterview is a very easy to use tool that serves its purpose greatly

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Consumer Services | Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 08, 2022

**What do you like best about CodeInterview?**

CodeInterview is very intuitive for both the interviewers and the candidates.

Interviewers:
- Easy to start/end an interview
- Easy to save and review ended interviews
- We can make, share and load code templates

Candidates:
- Write on the left, run and see the results on the right (nothing else, no distractions needed so the focus remains on the exercise)

**What do you dislike about CodeInterview?**

As a Data Engineer, I miss more SQL engines available. In my team, we use PostreSQL and would love to test PL/pgSQL and other features that differ from MySQL (data types casting, functions, etc.).

**What problems is CodeInterview solving and how is that benefiting you?**

CodeInterview is excellent at enabling the collaboration of the interviewer(s) with the candidate, thus making the experience more friendly and dynamic. We usually participate by writing down comments on aspects that have already been solved, help by suggesting other approaches with pseudocode, etc.
