As a data scientist, dealing with cloud infrastructure costs used to be a complete guessing game. We run a lot of heavy machine learning workloads and complex data pipelines, and before CloudZero, our AWS and Snowflake bills were just massive, unreadable blocks of expenses. What I love most about this platform is how it translates raw cloud spend into actual unit economics that make sense to my team. We finally have a way to attribute specific costs to individual ML models and daily ETL jobs without having to become FinOps experts. The anomaly detection is also incredibly sharp and has sent me Slack alerts the minute a training job started eating up way more compute than it should have. The initial setup definitely requires a good amount of heavy lifting and cross-team coordination. You can't just plug it in and expect magic on day one. I had to sit down with our DevOps and data engineering teams for several working sessions to define our telemetry and map out our billing dimensions correctly. Also, while the interface is generally good, the custom dashboards can get a bit clunky and overwhelming if you try to pack too many different cost metrics into a single view.
