**What do you like best about Chargebee?**

Subscription management and updates work exactly as we expected. The UX is really great, and Chargebee’s copilot is especially helpful for day-to-day tasks. We’re also able to use Chargebee’s integration with HubSpot, which fits well into our workflow. Performance has been really solid with no lagging, and the support from the team has been great as well.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

Reporting isn’t what I expected. Also, a few items that were introduced—such as RAMP, along with some invoice- and email-related features—aren’t provided with full context, which makes them harder to understand and use. We tried the Vitally integration, but it still isn’t fully usable because of limitations on Chargebee’s end. On top of that, Chargebee denies support for it in the UI and instead only offers an API-based solution.

**What problems is Chargebee solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chargebee doesn’t solve each and every problem, and sometimes they give rigid feedback—basically saying that this is how the product behaves and it isn’t going to change. That said, they do provide a workaround most of the time.

**What do you like best about Chargebee?**

I like being able to manage billing for my customers in one place. When they need an invoice, I can send it over quickly. I also like that it integrates with Hubspot, even though the integration feels a bit clunky.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

The integration between Hubspot and Chargebee is unpredictable. Sometimes it works really fast and sometimes it is painfully slow. The issue is that it's hard to know why it's slow and fast. The communication just isn't transparent in these cases.

**What problems is Chargebee solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chargebee is allowing my team to generate quotes for potential customers, manage those quotes easily, and automate the onboarding process for our customers. It also allows us to manage the customer's billing in a single location. Although the UI is somewhat confusing, we've gotten used to it.

Simple to use and I integrated advanced payment method with GoContactless. I needed help and the support was very helpful

Some things are strict to where you cant delete and instead you have to archive or edit things such as a plan you create

I was looking for a site that would allow me to collect payments online with a brilliant support team, as I've heard from friends of other companies give little support and can lock their accounts with funds in. Been super happy with everything, I've been able to stay on the starter plan as its free unless I upgrade but I've not felt I've been restricted in any way and been able to do everything I've wanted to so far

I love that Chargebee takes the headache out of subscription management and recurring billing by automating a highly complex and critical part of our business, reducing manual errors and saving a tremendous amount of administrative work. What stands out the most is how user-friendly and intuitive it is, especially considering the sheer depth of the platform. The interface is clean and straightforward, yet there seems to be a customization option for absolutely every need imaginable. I appreciate that Chargebee has built-in solutions for complex pricing tiers, specific discount rules, or automated workflows. Also, the support is great.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

Because the platform is so incredibly feature-rich and highly customizable, it can sometimes be a double-edged sword. If you have a very specific or unusual edge-case in your billing model, finding the exact right toggle or setting can require a bit of digging through the documentation or reaching out to support.

What I like best about Chargebee is it make subscription billing very easy and automated. We can manage invoices, recurring billing and payments without much manual work.

Also integration with other tools is good and reporting feature help to track revenue clearly. UI is simple so easy to use after some time. Overall it save lot of time and reduce errors in billing process.

What I dislike about Chargebee is sometime it feel little complex in starting, specially for new users. Setup process take time and need proper understanding.

Also pricing is bit high for small business and some features are only in higher plans. Support response sometimes slow. Overall good tool but can improve in ease of use and pricing.

Chargebee solving problem of manual billing and subscription management. Before we handle invoices and recurring payments in excel which was time taking and errors also happen.
Now everything is automated like billing, renewals, payment tracking so work become fast and accurate. It also help in managing customer subscriptions easily and reduce missed payments.
Because of this we save time, improve cash flow tracking and focus more on other important work instead of manual billing.

**What do you like best about Chargebee?**

I like the ease of changing customers' plans, setting up new ones, and creating notifications for various payment reminders with Chargebee. It's very good at handling subscription cancellations and managing part or full refunds, whether those are paid out or kept as a credit. Chargebee is very user-friendly and time-efficient.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

The one suggestion that springs to mind is when we put a subscription on pause, whether it's manual or set to a date, it doesn't auto adjust the time remaining on their account. We have to manually adjust it. So if they pause for four weeks and then start it up again, that four weeks is still lost. I have to manually move out the next billing date so that they don't actually lose the time that their subscription was on pause.

I use Chargebee to let our members manage their subscriptions, handle payments, integrate with HubSpot for customer insights, and easily modify plans and notifications. It's user-friendly and time-efficient.

What I like best about Chargebee is that it makes subscription billing and customer management much easier. It helps keep everything organized in one place, saves time, and reduces manual work. The platform is also user-friendly, so it is easier to track payments, invoices, and subscription changes without too much confusion.

What I dislike about Chargebee is that some features can take time to understand in the beginning, especially if you are new to the system. At times, it can feel a little complex, and finding certain settings or reports is not always very straightforward.

There is sadly very little to like about chargebee

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

Promise their system is robust and can handle any needs.  Couldn't handle our simple billing needs and then tried to force us to pay for an entire year.  Complicated pricing for their service and a lot of fine print in everything they do.  Missing very basic things you would expect from any billing solution, back end is complicated and simple tasks take longer than using something like Quickbooks Online.  Everything is centered around subscriptions not recurring billing.

**What problems is Chargebee solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We approached chargebee with simple billing needs.  We have clients that sign up for custom marketing packages that we have to invoice or charge a payment on file each month for the same amount until their package changes.  Was told our needs were simple and easy to handle.  Promised their system would be more efficient to setup and their system would save us time updating our clients payment methods when they expire or are updated, and that we could have more options on our payment processor.  We were using Quickbooks Online, stuck with their payment processor and lacing simple things in QBO like the ability to retry payments through auto dunning etc.  Sales team promised all simple tasks, and the ability to integrate with QBO and sync data etc.

Signed up on their started monthly plan.  Discovered quickly everything was centered around subscriptions, no easy way to generate one off invoices, and couldn't even handle a simple task like setting up a recurring subscription that charged a client on the last day of the month in arrears for that month's services.  Since we didn't have a limited set of "plans" and most of our customers had various items each client wold require a lot of manual work getting the pricing setup because everything is tied to subscriptions and plan pricing with limited options to customize.

Spent several days and countless hours trying to find workarounds to get it to work, but finally gave up.  Took the time to share issues with their team, and no solutions just workarounds that required more manual effort.

Their pricing structure is based on ARR and gets expensive with overage charges if you have fewer clients that you need to bill higher amounts for.  

If you run a gym or sell software subscriptions for low value and only offer a couple plans / prices and you want to bill in advance and have client prepay and don't need the ability to do a one off invoice then maybe their solution will fit.  Otherwise, don't assume anything just because it's a well know billing solution.

To make matters worse, When I tried to part ways because I was tired of spending so much time and also realized their solution even if they could somehow address all of our issues, it would require more time and headache setting up and maintaining than we would ever save anywhere else, rather than respecting their solution wasn't a good fit for our needs within a week after we signed up they tried to claim we agreed to a 1 year term and are saying they are going to continue sending us invoices for the next 12 months.  

I never signed a contract they claimed I agreed to those terms when I signed up which I never saw and regardless it just shows all they care about is getting you signed up and then trying to collect money without any accountability to provide a solution that works for your needs.  I don't normally take the time to leave negative reviews, I believe in giving people grace but in this case I feel I need to because their billing actions are completely unacceptable and their service and support frankly leaves a lot to be desired especially for the price they charge.  

Let this be a warning to all to look elsewhere.  Or know 100% and have tested their solution to meet all your needs before signing up.

It's dependable. It has all the features I need. The initial use without paying a fee is very generous. Whenever I needed help support was there and provided it in a timely manner. I've been able to integrate easily with my other platforms. Performance has been consistent. I haven't tried the AI in the platform yet. I've been able to build what I need even though I am not a programmer.

I can't think of anything. It's been useful so far.

Awesome docs, very detailed and thorough. I also enjoy a lot using the new sdk for TypeScript: it's very friendly.

And they support team is very responsible: they reply very fast, and reach out about your open issue if there's no communication in 24 hours.

Nothing comes to mind right now: I feel like they are the best in what they do.

Mainly, managment of Subscriptions: different billing periods and prices, with different entitlements for each Subscription plan.

I like that Chargebee automatically handles the billing and payment retries, as well as the communication with customers about upcoming payments. I like that it integrates with multiple different payment gateways, which allows us to accept a variety of payment methods. I like that I don't have to have a dedicated team of developers working on maintaining our own billing system.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

We are still waiting for Buy One Get One style coupons. Price increases are not the easiest. I have had a difficult time scheduling the price to be updated, while also sending out the correct email with the new price. The initial setup was rather difficult; we had to handle a lot of the details ourselves.

**What problems is Chargebee solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chargebee manages our recurring billing and automates the dunning process, enabling us to bypass storing customer payment info. It integrates with multiple gateways for varied payment methods. However, scheduling price updates with correct emails is challenging.

**What do you like best about Chargebee?**

What I like most about Chargebee is the ease it provides in navigating and giving our members immediate response. It makes it very easy to navigate all tasks in the back end, like when members inquire to change their payment information or cancel their subscriptions. It also offers smooth guidance to our members. I think it's really more about the UI and UX of Chargebee; it's very easy to navigate and locate where I should be doing specific things. For example, setting out the billing date of a member or giving them a promo or discount is straightforward via Chargebee. The switch from PayPal to Chargebee has made things easier for us, and Chargebee allows our members to log in and update their own payment information, making it a better portal overall.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

I think for now, the concern of our members or our internal team is the automated emails. We'd like to see more customization options there. For instance, when a member goes from being in a trial to being canceled, they should receive a specific email rather than our usual cancellation email. It would be great to have more features like this and also when it comes to adding plans or coupons, so I don't have to pile them up.

**What problems is Chargebee solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Chargebee to manage memberships and payment processing efficiently. It simplifies backend tasks like accepting new members, pausing or canceling subscriptions, editing billing dates, and responding quickly to member inquiries. Switching from PayPal improved the user experience by allowing members to easily update their payment details.

I love Chargebee's intuitive UI, which makes the system uncomplicated and easy for even a newbie to learn. I've been a power user for over 7 years, and the interface of Chargebee 1.0 is a standout feature for me. The clean layout allows new users to navigate the platform quickly without needing heavy training, significantly reducing inboarding time. I also appreciate how easy it is to locate invoices, subscription, and receivables details.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

One area that can be improved is the data sync rate. It is currently 24 hours between Chargebee and Chargebee Receivables (Numberz). In our current setup, the latency in refresh rate is set to 24 hours. It could be real-time or a negligible latency so that we can analyze the data more efficiently.

Chargebee simplifies our subscription and receivables management by automating invoice generation to collection efficiently. The intuitive UI reduces onboarding time significantly for new users, making it easy to navigate without heavy training.

The Chargebee support team is very responsive and quick to help whenever it’s needed. When we have a business requirement that isn’t yet covered in Chargebee, they treat it as a product improvement request and work to get it added to the software as early as possible. The tool is also easy to navigate, which makes day-to-day use straightforward. Overall, it helps make compliance easier to manage.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

While Chargebee does log events, the tax-specific audit trail (for example, who changed a tax profile, when it was changed, and why) isn’t as detailed as it would be helpful to have. 
With the e-invoicing that has become mandatory in many countries, it would be necessary to have a separate field for the mandatory details in the invoice in order to do the xml mapping. Although the team is ready to help with the product improvement, it would be great if we can have it in the software before the law makes it mandatory in different countries.

**What problems is Chargebee solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chargebee enables bulk uploads, which reduces our manual effort to a large extent. It also automatically cancels subscriptions when an invoice remains unpaid for a certain period, further cutting down on manual follow-ups. Overall, it’s easy to set up and helps us automate recurring revenue billing.

I like that Chargebee, despite being a bit complex to use, allows us to really dive into what's working for our business and what's not. It provides a simple way to bill customers, which is beneficial.

I think that Chargebee is a very complex system for the everyday user, especially internally. And I think that them taking a revenue share is a pretty unfair tactic used by them where they're basically gonna make a percentage of the revenue of our company based on how much we bill. It was not very easy. It was actually quite complex and took a ton of back and forth to actually migrate all of our data over, and it took quite a few months. So it was not easy.

Proration seems to be a bit more complicated than it should be. It involves multiple variables such as billing cycles, plan changes, timing of upgrades and downgrades, and how credits or charges are applied. It can be difficult to predict how exactly adjustments will appear on invoices without carefully reviewing the underlying calculations. The initial setup was complicated because we required a lot of customizations.

**What do you like best about Chargebee?**

I find the bulk import of payments feature very handy, as it allows me to apply payments to invoices easily and flags errors for immediate correction or later adjustments. The home dashboard is also very convenient. I appreciate that I can apply a payment, and if there's excess, it's automatically separated and clearly displayed on the customer's account. The automatic dunning feature saves us a lot of time by avoiding manual case handling. I love Chargebee's user-friendliness, which makes it easy to train new colleagues without hassle. Most processes are straightforward and quick to execute. The platform's contemporary design is impressive, especially in the finance sector, and enhances user experience by making navigation simple and clear, reducing the risk of making mistakes.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

I wish we could record a payment and allocate it to several invoices at once, at least the ones concerning the same customer, on the same menu, which currently we can't; we have to record the payment, and it's then recorded as excess payment and we need to open each invoice to apply that excess amount to each individual invoice. Particularly when you're working mostly B2B, this is very annoying. Being able to link accounts that belong to the same entity would be very handy - simply by having a link to another account on the customer's menu would make the searching part much more efficient, because each time we have to work on two or three accounts of the same company, we then have to search for it - and if we're a team of agents, everyone is doing this each time, multiplying quickly the amount of time wasted on searching when it could be easily linked together.

I use Chargebee for invoicing and accounts receivables. It's handy for bulk payment imports, error signaling, and excess payment handling. The automatic dunning saves time, and its user-friendly interface is great for quick onboarding. I also appreciate its modern look and straightforward procedures.

Chargebee shows a fraudulent tag for customers if their credit card doesn't go through the payment. In most cases, it marks customers as fraudulent for credit card declined cases, which should be fixed. Not all customers are fraudulent because of a credit card decline, which could be due to the limit of funds being allotted for such transactions, which is common these days.

Despite following all the recommended steps, the chatbot was unable to resolve my issue, which meant I had to submit a support ticket and wait for a response. Chargebee is assisting us in replacing our old Taxbill system, which was more complicated and challenging to integrate. Not only does the WordPress plugin they provided us not work, they have flat out refused to fix the problem and claimed that we designed it and must fix it ourselves. Customer service is byzantine and inevitably ends with them simply repeating the problem back to us and marking the issue as resolved. A truly maddening company, extremely difficult to work with.

We wanted to provide users with subscriber-only WordPress content but were required to use a service that syncs with Authorize.net. Chargebee was the only option approved by our university.

**What do you like best about Chargebee?**

I've been using Chargebee for a few months now and I found it very easy and intuitive. It offers a lot of flexibility in subscription plans, pricing, automating billing and payments, and the integrations. It almost never requires any manual intervention. You can create plans with flat, tiered or flexible pricing which really helps. I particularly found the integration with our analytics tool very useful. I found the tool very intuitive but as someone new in the field, their AI chatbot is a life saver. I almost never have to reach out to customer support as I get the answers from the chatbot itself. Unlike other chatbots, it doesn't just have pre-fed automated responses, which actually makes it useful. The customer support is also really nice and is very instant. And they are also very helpful and will send the information via email if you cannot be present for a chat. It can also handle international taxes very well and we don't have a lot to worry about it.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

There are some features that are locked behind a more expensive plan. For example, if you have an existing tiered plan with price A as flat for let's say 10 units and price B for more units, and you want to add a custom price  C instead of B while creating a new subscription, then you can not type in the price manually. You can add a discount or you might just have to create a new plan first. There are workarounds for issues like this but this seems like a basic feature that should be available for all of Chargebee's plans. Also the chatbot isn't aware of the plan you are on and might suggest solutions that would work only on the best plan from Chargebee. You can, however let it know the plan you're on and then you get the appropriate recommendations. 

They have also launched a new product catalogue which might fix some issues like this but I didn't get a chance to try it yet.

For us, automated invoicing and payment is extremely important along with flexibility in product plans. Chargebee has been able to handle all this very well. It also handles international taxes very well, which is also of huge importance to us and we don't have to worry about tax calculations.

With Recurly, support was frustratingly slow; issues were rarely resolved quickly, and starting a chat usually meant waiting for a follow-up by email. In contrast, my experience with Chargebee has been much smoother. When I encountered a problem and reached out to their support team via email, they responded promptly and resolved the issue right away.

We had a problem with TikTok launching our chargebee pages that required some urgency to resolve.  Even though we are likely a small customer for them, the support team recognized the urgency and importance to our business and helped us get to the bottom of the issue quickly. The support engineer was friendly, and the team provided us excellent feedback (including a detailed solution to the problem).

Sometimes when we ask Chargebee a detailed question (not a support ticket) the immediate response is to schedule a meeting where we need to reiterate  the question to get the ball actually rolling.  Now I understand they want to make sure they clarify the question, which makes sense, but sometimes I think we could skip the first meeting and get into the details of the question right away.  We are pretty good at trying to understand the product in detail before we ask a question, so the benefit of the doubt could be given.  Not a big deal, but something to understand.

Some connections or synchronizations, like those with ActiveCampaign, aren’t working properly. I reported these issues two years ago, but they haven’t been resolved. Additionally, for my small business, the software is quite expensive.

It is not very clear when it comes to upload old invoices, information of errors are not well explain, it does not help to be autonomous. There are fields which are optional but at the end they mandatory.. It's confusing, mostly when I fixed one issue and get to fix another
It is impossible to back dated an invoice on a subscription which started earlier but created later after the subscription itself.
The Add Charge : it is impossible to add more lines items and no draft view are proposed, same on Create Quick Charge, invoices are created directly without proposing to be in the Add to unbilled charges section
The Add One-Time Charges and Quick Charges is ok, but it does not adapt for MRR

Recently, we tried to migrate to QuickBooks, and let me tell you, it was an abomination. During those weeks, I have never missed a software like I missed Chargebee.

We are a high-risk business in the US and sometimes face legal and administrative issues because of this. However, Chargebee has made our life easier. You can collect a payment in seconds, and they don't judge you. 

The payment collection features and tax adherence are top-notch compared to other software, like QuickBooks Payments. You don't have to recreate a subscription to add taxes. It will just modify the subscription you have. This is great to save time and for businesses who have little experience in US taxing.

Another thing that is great is their customer support team. When they respond, they send a how-to video. Not all customer services reps do that.

They've saved us countless hours of administrative work. Thank you so much!!!!

Chargebee makes it easy to update a subscription by doing the proration calculations for you.  It's easy to add one time charges with separate invoices.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

Many options can only be used globally instead of on a case by case basis.   Refunds can take multiple steps.  Reporting revenue is lacking.  Support doesn't always know the answers when you have problems.  The search feature needs to be more refined.  You can't edit an item description on an invoice.  I would like to be able to see all email addresses sent an invoice on the email log without having to run a report.

Chargebee is still working on the revenue reporting which isn't accurate on our end and has to be done manually. We are forced to shut down any billing the first of the month so the manual work can be done.

We can set up multiple plans, apply coupons, handle renewals, upgrades, downgrades, and even failed payments — all in one place. It’s reliable, customizable, and helps us automate a lot of the repetitive tasks. Coupon creation and editing is easy as that

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

Things like tax settings, custom fields, or integrating with multiple platforms have a slight learning curve. It would also be great to have more flexibility in customizing the checkout and hosted pages without needing a developer. Customer support is pretty unrelaiable

**What problems is Chargebee solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chargebee helps us manage subscriptions at scale without needing to build everything from scratch. From billing automation, renewals, upgrades/downgrades, coupon management to handling failed payments. We can also see our revenue analytics like MRR, Total active cx, Retention, cohort and everything

**What do you like best about Chargebee?**

I’ve been using Chargebee for almost 3 years now and have found it really helpful for managing invoicing and subscriptions for our customers. What stands out most to me is the customer support - I was genuinely impressed by how responsive the team was to a minor bug I reported, and how thoroughly they worked to resolve it!

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

After almost 3 years of using it, I still find some parts of the interface a bit confusing. For example, I can easily add a note section to quotes, but there doesn’t seem to be a way to do the same for invoices - which would be really helpful.

**What problems is Chargebee solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Chargebee helps us manage customer subscriptions and invoicing in a structured way, which saves a lot of time and reduces manual work. It also gives us a clear overview of renewals, seat changes, and billing history

I find Chargebee's automated trial subscriptions particularly valuable as they help with our workflow and make signing up easy. The initial setup was easy enough for me.

**What do you dislike about Chargebee?**

I would like to have a better system for receiving notifications of new signups other than daily digest emails. The setup is easy enough but not for someone who doesn't have tech experience.

I use Chargebee for creating a platform for free trials and automated subscriptions, which helps with our workflow and makes signing up easy.
