What do you like best about CCTV Design tool?

Very straightforward tool to use. Open in the browser, start a project, choose height of camera install, you can add access points, other networking devices etc. Also, there are a lot of models of cameras that you can use and if they don't have one listed you can reach out to support and they will add it for you. Also, the price is pretty good not too expensive for 1 year whereas some other enterprise software can cost a ton. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about CCTV Design tool?

Not all the cameras are in the system. Some of them require that you enter the model number and specifications manually on your own and then save it to your specific account. Otherwise you have to contact support and have them manually add it on their end, but they are pretty quick to do it for you. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is CCTV Design tool solving and how is that benefiting you?

For our business, this lets us plot cameras on a client’s floor plan and customize details like placement and FOV. It also gives us a clear, physical representation of where the installation will be, while showing the quote directly against the map. That way, we can present the finished product, or “as-built,” alongside the bill so the client understands exactly where they’re getting visibility and how much it’s going to cost. As well, with bigger projects often the client wants things changed due to visibility restrictions, HR wants to be able to investigate incidents, parking lot watch etc. This program really helps in that you can swap out cameras in exact placements but change the model and FOV and then export the whole thing out as a PDF for presentations.
