Caringo Swarm was first launched in 2006 and after a decade of evolution, it introduced SwarmNFS in 2016, which is the first lightweight file protocol converter that brings scalable object storage to the NFSv4 protocol.
The improvements introduced allow SwarmNFS 2.0 to only send the data of an object that has been changed, which represents a major breakthrough in the object storage sector. The modified data is combined with the existing data, which can result in a significant increase in performance as bandwidth requirements decrease. In this way, users no longer have to reload all the data, even if only a small part has changed. Obviously, this reduces the gap between files and objects, and has improved the overall performance of NFS up to 20 times (according to the company's own data) for simultaneous client access and file operations. When one wants the best, it has a price, and that might be the only drawback I find with this service, because technically it is impeccable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
