## Canopy Reviews
 ### 1. A CPA Firm's Go-To for Project Management and CRM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Nick F. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

Canopy was a game-changer this past tax season. I bought a CPA firm in a different location from my practice, and I also have a remote worker. Canopy allowed me to know the status of every return in real time and communicate with the team members working on each client task, and also communicate with the clients through Canopy. It is also great for receiving client documents and storing them in the client portal. I love the ability to edit the client documents and leave notes for other team members. The clients like having instant access to their tax records and tax returns, and they also really like the e-signature feature through Canopy.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

Some clients have a hard time e-signing on their phone or tablet.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy saves me time, organizes clients' files, and gives the client and my team a single place to store all client documents. Canopy allows me to work from any location and access everything I need. It keeps me organized and lets me know when it is my turn to work on a particular client task.

 ### 2. Streamlines Client Tasks and internal/external communication, But Reporting Needs Improvement

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah R. | Executive Accounting Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

We use canopy to smooth out processes within our firm for bookkeeping, tax and advisory services. The client portal is great for clients to have one place to go to view and sign documents along with paying invoices. That ability to streamline processes from sales engagements to client onboarding to working with the client is improving constantly. Customer support is very responsive. The AI features are helping us improve efficiencies - especially the embedded Canopy Notetaker.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

The reporting features still aren’t easy to use. It takes a lot of time to learn the Insights reporting tools well enough to generate the specific reports our firm needs. I also wish the client portal had a built-in communication feature. It sounds like that may be coming in the future, but for now it’s a noticeable gap. The client portal also NEEDS a way to show where a client is in a process. For example, during tax season, we would really like the client to be able to log in to their client portal and see that their returns are prepared and being reviewed without needing to send an email to check on their status. For being a platform that caters to tax and accounting, those sorts of features could really be strenghtened.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy is solving the problem of having everything in one place to help us work towards greater efficiency. Streamlined task management for bookkeeping, tax and advisory services, a record of email communication linked to each client, onboarding, document management including document signatures. We really love the new AI Canopy Notetaker that automatically links meeting notes to the client record. That has been a huge saver of time, organization and trasparency of communication across the team. What we have not figured out yet is how to see our data reported out in the way we want. The reporting features are in place, but it is a steep learning curve to understand how to use them.

 ### 3. Truly All-in-One Platform That Streamlined Our Accounting Firm

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amanda L. | Accountant - Audit and Tax, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

It is truly an all-in-one solution for Accounting firms. We can do billing, collect documents from clients, run reports, organize documents, plan capacity for staff, and more, all in one platform. Before Canopy, we had at least 3 different systems to complete these items.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

The document manager is a little clunky compared to other solutions I have used. Not being able to edit a document from within the task screen is a headache for staff. But, something I have to give Canopy credit for is that they are constantly making improvements and they take feedback from real users. I have talked to the Canopy team on multiple occasions and suggested refinements, and have been thrilled to see some of these come to fruition. They are really trying to fix the items we don't like.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Getting everything in one place. Offering an easy-to-use customer portal. Rolling out integrations with tools like Filed and bookkeeping options right within Canopy are exciting to see as well.

 ### 4. True All‑in‑One Platform That Replaces Fragmented Tools

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Cherie L. | Chief of Staff, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

One of Canopy’s greatest strengths is its ability to consolidate core practice management functions into a single system. Instead of juggling separate tools for CRM, document storage, workflow tracking, billing, and tax resolution, our firm operates within one unified platform. The result is a more streamlined, scalable operating model.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

For growing teams with multiple users and feature needs, total cost of ownership can become significantly higher than expected, and initial setup and workflow configuration require significant time and effort before you are able to extract the full value of the product.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

One of our primary operational challenges has been managing client billing, so having a centralized platform has been extremely valuable. While we are still in the process of fully implementing workflow automation, we anticipate it will have a meaningful impact once complete—particularly given our high volume of SPAC clients. Streamlining these engagements through more automated workflows and integrated processes should enable us to move clients through each stage more efficiently. In turn, this will reduce the need for manual follow-ups, improve overall productivity, and allow our team to focus more on higher-value, strategic work.

 ### 5. **Great Practice Management Tool for Tax and Accounting Firms**

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

What I like best about Canopy is that it brings key firm workflows into one place—client management, document requests, task tracking, notices, and communication. For tax and accounting firms, that centralized workflow makes it easier to stay organized, manage deadlines, and provide a smoother client experience.

I also like that it helps reduce back-and-forth with clients by keeping requests, documents, and communication more structured and visible to the whole team.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

What I dislike about Canopy is that some features can feel a bit overwhelming at first, especially for new users who are still learning the platform. There can also be a learning curve when setting up workflows, templates, tasks, and client requests properly.

Another area that could be improved is making some processes more intuitive and faster, especially when navigating between client records, documents, tasks, and communication. Overall, Canopy is useful, but it would be even better with a simpler user experience and more streamlined navigation.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy helps solve the problem of having client information, documents, requests, tasks, and communication scattered across different platforms. It gives the team one central place to manage client work, track status, and stay organized.

The biggest benefit is improved workflow visibility. It is easier to see what still needs to be done, what the client has already provided, and what items are still pending. This helps reduce missed follow-ups, improves accountability, and makes the overall tax and accounting process more efficient.

It also benefits the client experience because document requests and communication are more organized, which reduces confusion and unnecessary back-and-forth.

 ### 6. Streamlined Workflows, But Setup Challenges

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

I appreciate how Canopy serves as a comprehensive tool for our firm, facilitating everything from sending engagements and managing workflow tasks to handling client requests, document management, and billing. I find the connectivity it offers invaluable, especially the ability to keep track of client correspondence and knowing exactly where we stand in a client project. My absolute favorite aspect is the reminders feature, which has been a game-changer for us. It significantly reduces the manual effort previously required to track necessary tasks and send email reminders to clients continuously. This not only enhances productivity but also ensures nothing falls through the cracks by keeping all communication within the specific task visible to the entire team. Consequently, no team member needs to specifically remember to follow up with clients about missing information.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

Sometimes, the automations break for no reason.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Canopy for engagement, task management, client communication visibility, and automated reminders, improving workflow and saving time eliminating manual tracking.

 ### 7. Canopy’s Seamless Navigation Makes Updates a Breeze

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Alexis T. | Office Administrator , Accounting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

I love how easy and seamless it is to navigate through Canopy, even when they roll out new updates. It’s straightforward to find my way around on my own, and I can ask questions whenever I need help.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

I think the biggest downfall I’ve run into so far when using Canopy is client access and how troublesome it can be for clients to navigate the portal on their end at home. I wish I had a better way to guide clients through the process, and that creating multiple client accounts felt more seamless and straightforward.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy is currently helping us create client accounts and set up online access, making it a quick and easy place to upload and share documents or send a quick email. It has also improved time management within the office by streamlining these everyday tasks. I can’t wait to see what comes with the new Canopy AI update. I think our time will be even more efficient and effective with the new updates that are about to be released.

 ### 8. Unified CRM & Billing Solution with Room for UI Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stephen H. | Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

I love the Canopy mobile platform along with the platform accessible in the client portal. It allows me to reach out to my clients with specific requests, and they can respond easily using their phone or computer. The ability to access information wherever I am makes my work easy to update. It also enables seamless communication with my clients in a familiar location, their client portal. Additionally, Canopy consolidates file management, billing, time tracking, task assignment, client communication, and transcript retrieval, which unifies the platform for me and my team. We can now access shared information, client inputs, uploaded files, and responses to client requests, allowing my remote team to work seamlessly and communicate effectively.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

I would love to see some user interface improvements. Such as a consolidated area on a client page where I can find information and files all at once. I would also like to be able to tag client emails to a specific client.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Canopy to unify CRM, billing, and operations, making it easier for my remote team to access shared information and communicate. The mobile and client portal allow quick client communication, and it consolidates tasks, improving workflow.

 ### 9. Effortless Document Management with Responsive Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Debbie P. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

I really like that Canopy is easy to use, which makes tasks less frustrating, and I think their customer service is very responsive. Whenever I have a problem, the chat feature is readily available, and the support team is quick to respond. If they encounter an issue they don't immediately know how to solve, they make sure to investigate it and get back to me. The setup process was also straightforward, especially when we had everything organized, and Canopy support was very helpful during this phase.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

I don't like when you click on a file to put it as a view for the client, this big box pops up, so you can't click continually on consecutive files you have to close the box each time.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy keeps all our documentation secure in one place, making it easy to share with clients and allowing them to upload information securely. It's also user-friendly, reducing frustration, and their customer service is quick to respond and helpful.

 ### 10. All-in-One Client Management with Outstanding Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

It's an all in one place to work with clients. You can do pretty much any client interaction, get documents, and send signature requests, all within the product. I also appreciate their quick response time to questions and issues, as well as their continual efforts to better the product. They are providing multiple CRM functions under one affordable price, and you only pay for the parts you use. I've rarely seen any downtime, and it's never been significant.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

Sometimes the setup of tasks or automation is clunky. If you're not a computer programmer, it can feel a bit overwhelming. But after you do one or two successfully, it makes more sense. They don't integrate to QB desktop and have no intention towards that, so firms like ours can't use the billing feature.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It makes client communication so much easier, as well as tracking where a tax return is. You can follow it from the moment it's checked in until the filing is complete. You can share documents easily between the client and the firm, and get signatures. They might be putting AI to better use soon so we'll have a more user-friendly, user-specific tax organizer too.

 ### 11. Responsive Support and Centralized Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** LouAnn M. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

I find it valuable that Canopy allows us to have everything centralized in one place. I really appreciate that their support team is responsive and helpful whenever questions come up, making things more efficient for us. I also like that the software continues to improve with regular updates and new features.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

The ability to customize more would be great. The ability to remove standard task statuses, and a banner at the top of all client pages indicating if there is something urgent all staff members need to be made aware of. Also texting, I know they are implementing the messaging but actual SMS would be nice for clients that don't have the app. Hopefully these things will be coming in the near future.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy centralizes everything in one place, making it more efficient. The responsive support team helps whenever questions arise, and regular updates with new features continually improve the software.

 ### 12. A True Game Changer for Our Medium-Sized Tax Firm

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting

**Reviewed Date:** May 20, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

What I like best about Canopy is that it has truly delivered on what it promised. For our medium-sized tax firm, it has become a central hub for managing clients, tasks, documents, communication, and workflow. The software is intuitive, reliable, and built around the way a real tax office operates.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

My only real complaint is that Canopy still doesn’t do the dishes or tie my shoes. In all seriousness, the platform is very robust, so it does require an upfront investment of time to set up properly and get your team comfortable with it. But once that foundation is in place, the efficiency gains are well worth the effort.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy is solving several major problems for our firm: scattered client information, inefficient task tracking, document management, client communication, and the administrative burden that comes with tax season. Before Canopy, too many things required manual follow-up or were spread across different systems. Canopy gives us one centralized place to manage client work, track progress, communicate with clients, collect documents, and keep our team on the same page.

The biggest benefit has been efficiency. Over the last two tax seasons, Canopy has helped us save the equivalent of roughly 1.5–2 full-time employees’ worth of administrative time. That has allowed our team to handle a heavy workload with less stress, fewer dropped balls, and better visibility into where every return or project stands. It has made our firm more organized, more scalable, and better equipped to serve clients well during our busiest time of year.

 ### 13. Streamlined Tax Management with Excellent Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chelsea C. | Tax Administration Services , Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** December 01, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

I like that Canopy is easy to use, and whenever I have a problem, the support team is readily available. It keeps everything organized for clients, and it's easy to upload documents and communicate with team members within Canopy. The task list helps keep the flow going efficiently. The initial setup was very easy, and someone helped with onboarding along with many training videos, which eased the transition.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

I don't like that some things are hard to change or delete. Such as tax organizers or signature documents. You can't do it right on the client profile. Also, I need to learn how to delete old emails and not attach them to certain names because the emails that you originally use are tied to the client's name.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy keeps everything organized for clients, makes document uploading and communication easy, and the task list helps maintain efficiency.

 ### 14. Transformative for Firm Management, Seamless Workflow

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gail K. | Business Owner--Jack of All Trades--Head Honcho, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 21, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

I really appreciate how Canopy allows us to manage the firm efficiently by keeping everything where it belongs and ensuring that everyone knows the status of tasks and documents. The workflow tools are fantastic, especially the ability to use subtasks within tasks, which greatly enhances our organization. I enjoy the capability to leave notes for each other, as well as placing client documents on the portal to avoid the need for constantly sending out copies of returns. I love that Canopy is always experimenting and trying out new ideas which not only make learning and improving efficiency enjoyable but also take the repetitive data entry off our hands, giving us more time to engage with our clients. I am impressed by how these innovations allow us to save time and communicate more effectively with the team. Switching to Canopy from ATOM was a smart move for us, as it is more dynamic and comprehensive, letting us consolidate various tools into one. I also find it remarkable that, despite implementing it in the middle of tax season, Canopy's setup was manageable, indicating how well it is designed.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

It can feel a little overwhelming at first, because it offers so many solutions. There's so much to learn, and they're constantly adding new features, so it can be challenging to use all the features, especially at first.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy centralizes firm management, handling workflows, document uploads, and client interactions efficiently. It reduces data entry tasks, freeing up time for client engagements, and ensures team members have visibility of tasks and client documents without using multiple systems.

 ### 15. Easy, efficient - great for solopreneurs

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting

**Reviewed Date:** April 24, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

I love the dashboard is very intuitive. I was able to get in and start using it almost immediately. The document management system is clear and easy for clients to use, even if they aren't "techy"

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

Sometimes I wish I could make more adjustments to the way things are shared with clients. For instance, I like to use the "questionnaire" format to follow up with document requests because I am able to ask questions and upload documents, but they have usually already received a "questionnaire", so it seems odd that I am sending them another one. That is a specific instance, but things like that pop up that I wish there was slightly more flexibility

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Streamline client communication, tracking requests, organizing all the documents. I also use the timer to be able to start understanding how I am really spending my time

 ### 16. Effortless Task Management and Organization with Canopy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** vienna c. | Tax Staff Admin, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

Canopy has made tax workflow much more organized and efficient for our team. The interface is user-friendly, client communication tools are helpful, and document management keeps everything in one place. It’s streamlined a lot of our tax prep and practice management processes

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

One downside to Canopy is that some features can feel a bit slow or overly complex at times, especially during onboarding. The pricing can also add up quickly as you add more modules and users

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are making tons of new updates to make it easier for their users.

 ### 17. All-in-One Solution That Streamlined Our Accounting Firm

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Amy F. | Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

Canopy has proven to be an extremely valuable resource for modern accounting firms. It serves as a comprehensive platform, uniting key features such as client management, document storage, workflow, and billing in one place. One of its standout advantages is how easily it integrates, which simplifies implementation and ensures that every aspect of our firm's operations—from onboarding new clients to processing final payments—runs smoothly and efficiently. As a result, we've seen a noticeable reduction in administrative tasks, allowing us to dedicate more time to serving our clients. And their customer service is the best out there!

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

The one thing that we wish Canopy had is text messaging abilities.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As our firm has experienced significant growth over the past year, Canopy has played a vital role in helping us streamline client communication, manage documents efficiently, and enhance the overall client experience.

 ### 18. Canopy Keeps Client Documents Organized with Smart Checkmarks

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Neal B. | Office Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

Canopy has a lot of great features. As a tax accountant it is great to be able to see all of my client's source documents in one place and not have to close every file before opening the next one. I also love the check mark feature so I can know what has already been entered.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

the fact that we have to request signatures and payment in 2 separate steps

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

thier introduction of AI called Coworker is going to be extremely helpful

 ### 19. Canopy Saves Time with Real-Time Updates and Seamless QuickBooks Integration

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Devin C. | Associate - Tax & Client Accounting Services, Accounting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

It is a great portal for clients to use to upload their documents and provide real time updates for them. It has very good integration tools which link to Quickbooks so the process is instantaneous. It definitely saves time compared to other portals I have seen with lesser tech stacks.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

Not too many issues that we face with Canopy outside of a potential network issue which is out of their control. Even when that happens they do a great job of communicating the issue and letting us know a timeframe for the resolution.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It provides a portal with the latest tech stacks and AI integrations, which helps us bring more clients into our system while keeping everything organized and easy to manage.

 ### 20. Seamlessly Elevates Client and Document Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

I love using Canopy for client management and document organization, especially impressed by how easy the portal is for clients. The Esign feature with KVA is a huge improvement over what we were using before. I love the email integration and the AI features which help polish my direct emails by softening my tone. The templates are fantastic and building or modifying them is incredibly easy. We've had a great experience with Canopy's support team, who genuinely listen and take suggestions seriously. This is our third CRM in 10 years, and I'm thrilled to say Canopy is the best by far. The client dashboard is excellent, making it easy to see a lot of information immediately. I also like the various helpful videos provided by Canopy University for learning new tasks. The reports, email features, reminders, and task automation are lifesavers, making it easy to set things up and let Canopy do the client reminding.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

We would really like the calendar to work better with our email service Outlook. The initial setup was a little hard. We did not receive a clear understanding of how what we entered would be reflected in Canopy. We ended up having to manually change all of our client names individually.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy simplifies client and document management, enhances email communication with AI, improves task organization, and makes client portals user-friendly. Its eSign feature is superior to previous tools, and task automation like reminders boosts efficiency.

 ### 21. Comprehensive Task Management with Room to Grow

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

I like that with Canopy, we can have most of the information and programs we need in one place. It's really appreciated that they come up with new features quite frequently, and it's been very exciting to see what else they come out with. I also think the initial setup was quite easy, and if there are any issues, there are lots of training videos that Canopy provides. That's been a plus.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

I think there could be more small options that Canopy could work on, small features that it could add. For example, we would love to be able to schedule emails and have automated birthday emails sent out to clients. I think they could add some more features.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Canopy for task management. It centralizes most of the information and programs we need in one place. Although I wish for more features in one place, I appreciate the frequent introduction of new features.

 ### 22. Powerful Customizations, But Setup Is Trial and Error

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

I like that Canopy is constantly working on fixing the issues their users are having, and their updates feel intentional. The customizations and automations are great, although they can sometimes feel overwhelming. Automations on tasks help take off some of the manual work. The customization of templates makes it easier to replicate internal processes. The possibilities are endless.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

I've found that Canopy isn't fully capable of doing everything we need yet, which makes us hesitant to move all our processes there. The transcript feature feels very manual since you can't do bulk actions unless you have recurring transcript pulls scheduled. Task templates have been hard and manual to replicate our internal processes, so we're still using our own lists. The initial setup was quite manual and felt like trial and error, which has delayed us from fully using Canopy and leaving other programs.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Canopy for holding notes and client information, and the transcript feature. Automations help reduce manual work, and customizing templates simplifies replicating processes but we are still working on them two year later.

 ### 23. Excited for New AI Features and Easy Chat Support

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kelsey P. | Administrative Director, Office Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

I love the upcoming ability to message clients and have an internal note-taker. We’re legacy clients, and I feel our current fee is fair. It’s also easy to reach support through the chat function. Overall, the performance is acceptable, and I’m looking forward to using the new AI features, like the "co-worker."

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

We would love to have an "I'm Done Uploading" button for our clients.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps us keep our workflow organized and well structured.

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

They have the best software for accounting! They provide the best bang for the buck and their demo sessions are helpful. They have demonstrated reliability with the software.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

So fare we have not have a problem with the software yet.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy saves us time for transcript retrieval using a fast and easy to use UI for with integrated AI. We have integrated the service into our workflow allowing us to perform our best.

 ### 25. Replaced Manual Processes and Excel Workflows with Ease

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Carly C. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

It replaced so many manual process & separate excel files/workflows that we were tracking in the office

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

I wish it pulled more data out of our tax return software (ProConnect Tax Online) to help automate more tax preparation/organizer details

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy has given us a singular hub for client communication, file storage, workflows, and billing. It's also helped us to automate some of our onboarding processes and tax work.

 ### 26. User-Friendly, Intuitive Platform with Best-in-Class Chat Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

Canopy is very user friendly for our clients, and is pretty intuitive for our team. The support from the chat is as good as it gets, and they are always looking to make their platform better. Not just improvements that don't really impact us, but real improvements that make it easier to use.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

Not much right now, I would say if it had a messaging app it would be great, which I think they said they are rolling it out very soon.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Secure communication of documents, one platform for all needs of our accounting firm, portal, workflow, and engagement letters.

 ### 27. All-in-One Solution That Simplified Our Practice Management

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Michael G. | Managing Director, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 24, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

Complete practice management system that helped us eliminate a multitude of apps and enabled me to sleep at night, knowing that in all phases of our practice - accurate client data, workflow, scheduling, billing, due date monitoring - Canopy handles it all.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

Its robust system requires a lot of initial effort to input data, but once complete, no issues. For now, we are holding off the electronic billing and payment feature pending further analysis; we expect that it will be suitable. The only remaining improvement we are awaiting is the client portal. It is essential that a client can initiate a message to us at any time for any reason, and that function does not currently exist - though I am told this is in development.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It finally enabled me to manage my receivables, which has been a perennial problem. And it helped me better understand who is doing what each day.

 ### 28. Seamless Firm-Wide Tracking and Effortless Client Experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jade A. | Technical Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

The thing I like the most about Canopy is the seamless tracking throughout the firm. No matter who it is in our firm- admin, preparer, bookkeeper, review- everyone is able to see where we are at in a return, what we still need, and all updates on the return. It has made tracking throughout the year much easier and much more simple and concise than our team has ever seen before. We are able to leave notes for everyone to see which has become one of the most useful parts of Canopy and has cut down our internal communication times by a substantial amount. I also like how easy it is for our clients to use and everything the need is in one place - a place to upload documents, view the returns, and sign documents in one easy app/website. They also have the easiest customer support I have ever used. It quickly replies, is able to decode questions even if they're not asked in a straight forward manner, and provides links to where you can learn about that feature/question in Canopy.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

There isn't much about Canopy that I dislike. I think the only feature(s) that need improving is the ability to customize the task lists and add personalized columns based on a firms needs.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy has addressed numerous challenges within our firm, such as streamlining note-taking, call logging, and the tracking of returns and bookkeeping. Additionally, it has centralized our client information, making it accessible in one place for everyone on the team. We no longer have to deal with repeated questions about client entities or the timing of the last follow-up, as all details are clearly documented. The communication feature enables our admin staff to stay updated on any changes to returns or outstanding items, eliminating the need to track down preparers for updates. The client request and e-signature auto reminders have saved our admin team countless hours on follow-ups, allowing them to focus on more urgent tasks. Overall, Canopy has enabled our team to operate more efficiently and smoothly.

 ### 29. All-in-One Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Brandi N. | Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 20, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

To me, the most helpful feature of Canopy is the integration. I love that our firm no longer has to use a ton of different software and with Canopy, everything is now in one place. You can create tasks directly from emails, store client info seamlessly, and communicate with the team on a project. All within one website! That's another thing - I really appreciate that all of this info in in the cloud!

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

Going through the set up process has been a little tedious. I wish that Canopy would "communicate" with more software so that transitioning to Canopy could be easier.

I also don't love the email view and wish there was more customization there. For example, I don't prefer to view my emails in "Conversation View", and I organize my email into folders. Adding these features to Canopy would be helpful

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy is helping to solve our firm's issue of centralization (everything being in one place), and it's paving the road for us to go paperless.

 ### 30. Improves Practice Management with Room for Growth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gina T. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

I like that Canopy is constantly evolving with new features, which demonstrates a commitment to improvement and directly benefits my workflow. In particular, the addition of the Engagements feature last year allowed me to consolidate services and save on extra costs. The recently introduced features that facilitate client information requests, along with the automation options, are especially exciting and hold promise for an efficient tax season ahead. Furthermore, the customer support provided by Canopy is commendable, offering reliable assistance when needed. I also appreciate the seamless integration with other tools I use, such as QBO, Odrive, and Office 365, which creates a cohesive and efficient work environment.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

I find the task tracking feature in Canopy to be less robust, as it's currently just a list without more advanced views like Kanban or Gantt. There's also a lack of interactive management options such as drag-and-drop for reassigning tasks or adjusting dates and durations. Additionally, I would appreciate more features related to task presentation, like differentiating between an internal to-do list and a backlog of client work. Another area for improvement is gaining more visibility into team utilization, so I can understand if my team is under or overutilized. The initial setup process was frustrating; the onboarding team imported all 6,000 contacts instead of following my instructions, which only required about 700-800, leading to a time-consuming cleanup process. Finally, I would appreciate a scheduling tool similar to Motion or Sunsama for better task management.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Canopy to stay organized, track tasks, manage deadlines, assign team work, and communicate with clients. It eliminates the need for extra services and automates client information requests, making it invaluable for tax season.

 ### 31. My experience using Canopy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Taylor J. | Administrative Specialist, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

What I find most helpful about Canopy is that it serves as a central hub for nearly everything required for managing a client, with the exception of the return software. The client profiles are especially useful, as they consolidate all relevant information in one place. When you open a profile, you can instantly see if a client has any outstanding invoices, the services you provide for them, and who is designated as the client owner. Additionally, the new AI features that Canopy has introduced are impressive and promise to make things much easier for both firms and their clients.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

One thing Canopy could improve is that our firm almost daily has a client tell us that their profile says they no longer exist and they have to log in and log out of their account to fix this.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The first thing that stands out to me is how easy it is to provide clients with copies of their returns or files. With Canopy, making files visible to clients is as simple as clicking a button, instead of having to password-protect documents in Adobe and send them by email. This feature saves a significant amount of time.

Additionally, the automations that Canopy provides for notifying clients about requests or outstanding invoices are also major time savers, as they cut down on the manual effort required to reach out to clients.

 ### 32. Simplified Our Operations and Our Clients Love It

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Oleg G. | Managing Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

Canopy has been instrumental in scaling our business by consolidating time tracking, billing, project management, document storage, and communications into a single, efficient platform. The onboarding process was seamless, and their customer support team has exceeded our expectations. We've been particularly impressed with how well the various automations and integrations function together, and the platform's intuitive interface and adaptability have made it invaluable to our workflow. Our clients have enthusiastically praised the system's ease of use and centralized accessibility. Canopy has become indispensable to our day-to-day operations. We're thoroughly pleased with our transition to Canopy and look forward to the new features on the horizon!

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

Some features lack full customization options. The billing functions are not very robust, and ACH transactions take a considerable amount of time to process. You cannot see who receives an invoice or select multiple recipients. Generating insights reports is time-consuming and overwhelming.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy has made billing easier by integrating time tracking and billing functions, and by syncing with QBO. This combination has streamlined our billing process.

 ### 33. Comprehensive Features and Fast Transcripts Make Work Effortless

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Contessa C. | Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

I like the numerous features offered: Communication, notes, files, tasks, Resolution Cases, Transcripts, Billing and Time entries. An additional feature that I have is "Organizers" that I have not used just yet. The transcript feature is one of my favorites because it pulls all transcripts quicker than I can via tax pros. The feature gives an account overview, CSED calculations, penalties and interest, payment history, bankruptcy, account transactions and assessment overview. I use all features mentioned daily, but the transcript feature is my favorite. Very easy to use. Ive rarely used customer support, however when I do, I used the chat feature and they are very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

I have used canopy for almost 3 years. Thus far I dont dislike anything. There are still features that I havent used. It makes work very easy.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy is solving the issue of organization. Its very easy to create tasks (work that needs to be done) and assign them out to my colleagues. I know they are working on them because the status changes and there is a feature to add notes about what they have done thus far along the progress of the task.

 ### 34. All-in-One Metrics Integration Makes Workflows Easy

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah C. | Accounting Associate, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

It is fairly easy to use once everything is set up. I enjoy how firm metrics are integrated into the program so that we can find everything in one place instead of having to use multiple technologies. Now that we have things customized to our firm, it should save us time in the future and fill gaps in our current processes that we were missing.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

There are still several important features missing that our firm needs, and I wish there were more options to customize specific permissions. It's surprising that Canopy doesn't offer greater flexibility in areas like Insights, where it would be helpful to control which types of reports each team member can access. The same issue exists with time entries, WIP reports, and similar features, where more detailed customization would make a big difference. Additionally, the implementation process leaves much to be desired, as it requires significant front-end effort from staff. If you aren't assigned an excellent implementation team, the process can be quite challenging.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It allows us to easily integrate our billing, workflow management, metrics, and file management systems into one location instead of having multiple different softwares to manage these features.

 ### 35. Lots of Useful Features but Still Missing Key Ones

**Rating:** 3.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sarah V. | Firm Administrator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

I like that it offers a diverse set of functions so you can do more all in one place and on one platform. I also equally like that the Canopy development team is continuously adding to its features, creating new ones, and listening to its users to help make it better. Continuous improvements are essential in our technically evolving world.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

There are some things that I feel should have been standard from the start that were not. For example, being able to select the recipient, or multiple recipients, to receive an invoice. And, being able to specify which contacts can see which folders or documents on the client portal. Those are already options in other similar software.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

They are working on being able to specify what folders contacts can see on the client portal. This is essential. When we found out this was not currently an option during earlier stages of implementation, we almost bailed on it. That's how important this feature is. The two programs we used prior allowed this, we we never thought it could possibly not be available.

 ### 36. All-in-One Solution That Centralizes Everything I Need

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Teddy C. | Tax Accountant, Accounting, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

Everything I need is in one, centralized place. If I am working with a business client that owns several companies, I can connect everything with ease. Both personal and business accounts can be connected for ease of navigation for the accountant, and the client can use a single log in to access everything in one menu. I am looking forward to the updates that are rolling out. Having the ability to allow tiered access to managers and other users is gong to be great. I am looking forward to learning to use the AI powered features that have been rolling out.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

The client side of Canopy is too pretty for its own good. Clients seem to get lost in the simplicity of the menu options. Also, clients are only able to see the last 5 documents they have uploaded to their portal without having to do a detailed search for them.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Using Canopy has enabled our firm to become more efficient in our work and in our client communications. Canopy is increasingly saving us time across the board.

 ### 37. Outstanding Service, Streamlined Client Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gena T. | Director of Compliance, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

The clean interface and structured workflow help me stay on top of tasks without feeling overwhelmed. Canopy has truly improved the way I manage my practice by centralizing documents, notes, and communication in one place. It’s a reliable system that keeps me organized and allows me to spend more time focusing on my clients.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

One limitation is the lack of a built-in chat feature for communicating directly with clients. Having real-time messaging would make collaboration much smoother. I also don’t love the way files attach to tasks — once a document is attached, you can’t edit it from within the task itself, which adds extra steps to the workflow. Improving these areas would make the experience even better.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The document management system is clean, intuitive, and helps me stay on top of my workflow. I also really appreciate how simple it is to collect e-signatures — it saves time, reduces back-and-forth, and keeps the entire process streamlined for both me and my clients.

 ### 38. Canopy’s All-in-One Platform Made Our Switch a Win

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Tomi S. | Admin, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

The best thing about when we switched to Canopy is the - All in one platform!!!!!!

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

One thing that I would say I dislike about Canopy is that late fees are a one time thing and not recurring each month that the invoice is late.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Updating task templates and making more templates available are helping alot.

 ### 39. Empowers Hispanic Entrepreneurs with Streamlined Workflows and Secure Communication

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edgar V. | Owner & Compliance Consultant at LUYED Book and Tax LLC, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

The most helpful part of Canopy is how it simplifies complex workflows and client communication in one place. For my Hispanic community, the upsides are efficiency, secure document sharing, and automation that let me spend more time educating and empowering entrepreneurs instead of chasing paperwork.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

While Canopy is a powerful tool, navigation between client accounts can sometimes feel slow, and customization options for client lists and bulk actions are limited. These areas could be improved to better serve firms like mine that manage diverse workflows for Hispanic entrepreneurs.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy is solving the problem of fragmented workflows and scattered client communication. By centralizing task management, secure document sharing, and automated reminders, it eliminates inefficiencies that used to slow down my practice. The benefit is clear: I spend less time chasing paperwork and more time educating and empowering Hispanic entrepreneurs with the strategic guidance they need.

 ### 40. Very Good program for organizing tasks and managing the flow of work for clients

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

I like how Canopy allows users to understand the flow of tasks and where that task is at a certain point. When done correctly Canopy shows the team where things stand.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

I don't like how I go into the "my work" tab or one of my custom tabs, example "Open 1040s". These are 1040s that I need to work on. When I click into one of the tasks, I check the status. Then I want to go back to where I was on the "My work" tab. It starts me at the beginning and I have to scroll down allllll the way where I was before. I would like that process to be smoother so I can check tasks more efficiently.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Keeping track of open returns and other items that I need to complete on a daily/weekly/ monthly basis.

 ### 41. I really enjoy using Canopy

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Lindsie H. | Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

We’ve tested three different practice management software platforms for our accounting firm, and Canopy has been the clear standout. It’s incredibly user-friendly—not just for our team, but for our clients as well. Canopy has truly anticipated everything we need to run our business efficiently and smoothly.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

My only concern with Canopy is the payment processing feature. It lacks a back-office dashboard where we can track when payments are drafted or when they’ll be deposited into our account. Some payments take significantly longer than others, and there's no visibility into the reasons behind the delays or a way to review that information

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Easier for our clients to use, upload pdf’s. They can scan a pdf with the app and upload it. Also, if we do receive pictures, we can produce a pdf and combined the pdf in Canopy. Which saves time and money!

 ### 42. Helpful Task Lists and Organized Documents with Easy Client Signatures

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

The task/to-do list is really helpful for keeping me on track. I also like how the documents are organized, and it’s convenient to be able to get signatures from clients directly.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

The communication section doesn’t seem to be working properly, and we have missing emails. The auto task repeater has also had a few issues where tasks did not create at the right time.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It helps with task management, document management, and client organization. It also makes it easier to collect client signatures and gather the information I need.

 ### 43. A Reliable, User-Friendly Tax Practice Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting

**Reviewed Date:** January 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

What I like best about Canopy is how everything is in one place. It keeps client communication, document management, and workflow organized, which saves time and cuts down on stress. The interface is easy to use, and it actually feels like the software is working with you instead of against you.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

What I dislike about Canopy is that some features have a learning curve, especially when you’re first getting started. A few tools also feel a bit slower or less intuitive than they could be, but once you’re familiar with the system, it’s manageable.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy solves the problem of scattered systems by putting client communication, documents, billing, and workflow in one place. Instead of jumping between tools, everything is organized and easy to track. That’s benefited me by saving time, reducing errors, and making it much easier to stay on top of deadlines and client needs.

 ### 44. Canopy Streamlines Client Info with an Intuitive, Easy-to-Navigate UI

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Hitanshi M. | Teacher Assistant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

Canopy helps streamline client information, and the user interface is intuitive, easy to learn, and simple to navigate.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

The lack of messaging feature between agent and client

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It streamlines client data by keeping everything in one place, and it also makes it easy to see revenue coming in.

 ### 45. Essential for Tax Season Success with Outstanding Workflow Features

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kirsten W. | Staff Accountant, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

Canopy is an essential tool in our daily operations, particularly during the busy tax season. Its workflow and template features stand out, giving us the flexibility to adapt as our needs evolve. We've created comprehensive, repeatable workflows for each type of engagement, and the template system helps ensure that nothing is overlooked.

A feature we especially appreciate is the due date functionality. Tasks are automatically scheduled and monitored, which is invaluable during tax season when timing is critical. This feature alone often feels indispensable.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

Canopy sometimes experiences minor glitches with tasks, such as updates not appearing right away or certain fields taking a little time to refresh. Although these issues can be somewhat frustrating when they occur, they are always addressed and resolved promptly.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The features that allows tracking of user activity giving date and time stamps.

 ### 46. Powerful Platform That Supports Our Firm’s Growth

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris M. | Principal, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 18, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

The platform creates clarity across our entire client lifecycle. Assigning work, tracking progress, sharing files, and communicating with clients all happen in one system. It has noticeably improved our team’s efficiency and reduced the back and forth that used to slow us down.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

The product is strong overall, but the engagement proposal features need more flexibility and refinement. Reporting and customization could also be expanded. Additional configuration options would help firms tailor the platform more closely to their workflows.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Canopy brings our client work, communication, tasks, time tracking, and document management into one centralized system. It reduces the manual back and forth that used to slow us down and gives our team clear visibility into deadlines and responsibilities. Everything moves faster, client interactions are more organized, and our accounting workflow is far more consistent and efficient.

 ### 47. It's a great program and I love the features, but it can be a little pricy for all add-ons.

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting

**Reviewed Date:** January 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

CRM features that let you communicate and interact with clients, and how that interfaces with tasks and engagements. All the automations and cross-over is great.
It is all very customizable as far as I have explored, which is nice.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

Besides the fact it can be expensive if you need the whole suit, or a growing cost as you add features and seats, there are only minor complaints/adjustments. I dislike there isn't an audit log on tasks (you have to go dig for the audit log, then it can be overwhelming information because it's for everything.)

I wish the client could see a progress tracker, similar to what we see in the task.

I wish the tasks could populate into my calendar.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

File management - now we get notified when a client uploads new files.
CRM - keep client information, including when they became a client. Eventually I will be using exclusively canopy to manage client communications. (The batch email and organizer features help so much!)
Task management is so great, and the reoccurring template gives us more time to work, rather than manage work.

 ### 48. Canopy has greatly improved my firm!!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Accounting | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 15, 2024

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

What I like best about Canopy is it is easy to use and keep track of productivity. The system is easy to use and integration it up was a breeze. Our firm uses this every day and it has made getting documents from client easier and more organized. It has improved the way we operate dramatically!

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

Updates are sometimes stressful because features change and move.

**What problems is Canopy solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Client management, getting client documents through a secure portal, follow ups with clients, and staff workflows.

 ### 49. The safest online vault outside (or inside) of the government?!

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua G. | Owner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** August 10, 2025

**What do you like best about Canopy?**

Canopy is more secure than bank software -- even the engineers do not have access to your files, making social engineering attempts to steal your data nearly impossible.

**What do you dislike about Canopy?**

Canopy does not currently integrate with my Drake Tax software, but I continue to hold out hope that such a synchronization will 1 day take place!

Canopy covers so many bases for our firm, including project management, time-keeping, and billing. It’s nice having all of those essentials in one place.

I like that the billing is done in real time rather than monthly, and that it also supports automatic follow-ups with clients.
